All things Taiwan. Work, nightlife, attractions, food, visas. Get in here Taiwan knowers.
I'm actually applying for the public school program but I don't know Chinese. I want to find somewhere to chill and get a nice ltr gf but it seems from what I've read very hard. They will fuck the White guys but don't want a serious relationship. What's Taipei like in general? Lots of wild subcultures and wild nightlife? Is it a cool place to live or boring af like Kuala Lumpur?
>>2865116>>2865118Taiwan sucks. Nobody speaks English and Mandarin is hard as fuck to learn. Not sure why someone made its own general here
>>2865122I've seen lots of anons on here talking like it's the best secret spot if Asia
Does anyone have any resources for learning mandarin? And, if I speak like a mainlander visiting taiwan are they going to get mad at me?
>>2865123Best secret spot if you like pointing and trying to speak baby Mandarin to someone laughing their ass off at you. There's no way to communicate with dignity as a tourist
>>2865122>>2865128Is this negative nigga correct?
>>2865122>>2865123The food in Taiwan sucks (relative to other E Asia destinations, in a vacuum its fine/good) but otherwise it has better English levels than Korea Japan and all non Tier-1 Mainland China. It is (or was) a good secret spot because it was not popular with tourists despite being very nice and accessible but that is less true now than it was 10 years ago.>>2865126I speak mandarin with a mainland accent and I deliberately play it up when in Taiwan because YES you will get reaction but no not a negative one just that you are a novelty and the girls like it>>2865129No
>>2865129>>2865148>I speak Mandarin fluently and even have a Mainland accent. Anyways, Taiwan is great they totally speak English!LMFAO
>>2865148>it was not popular with tourists despite being very nice Gee I wonder why, doesn't every tourist speak Mandarin fluently like me? People are so irrational..

>>2865150If you want to immerse yourself in any culture, its important to at least make an effort to learn the language. Or are you one of those people that travels just to blow all your extra money to feel like a rich person for a week?
>>2865239No need for your incel projection, clamp your clitty leak and try communicating like a normal person.
>>2865122>Nobody speaks EnglishWhy should they? It's not a western country.
Why are there 2 Taiwan generals?
>>2865351the other one got infiltrated by CPC sympathizers
Anyone worked for pic rel? I'm just applying. Any good city recommendations?
>>2865149>>2865150I don't know what your point is - don't go to any country where you don't speak the language? Taipei has better English levels than Korea and Japan by a wide margin but those are more popular with western tourists

>>2865476If you can't read Chinese, you're pretty fucked in Taiwan. Yes you can still get your necessities, but you won't be enjoying the best of what the country has to offer, and you'll probably be coping with a lot of cans of Taiwan Beer from convenience stores. Translate apps often give you gibberish results for wall menus, and even if they do give English words, you can't order by shouting an English word! The only way a non-Chinese speaking person without a local friend can order is having the cook come away from his station, walk to your side, and see which item you are pointing at on the wall menu (which may not even be at a level that allows items to be pointed at, sometimes I wished I had a fucking laser pointer kek). Very inconvenient and annoying for a people who pride themselves on workplace efficiency. The best dining spots you won't even be able to get a seat, much less a table, as a solo foreigner wandering around. Great Chinese restaurants are always fucking crammed with diners, and the harried staff have no time to explain the menu items to a foreigner, much less do so in English.>>2865467Facial asymmetry is deemed very unattractive by East Asians. Look at the mugshot on your driver's license; if your face isn't symmetrical, you're unlikely to have success with dating in Taiwan.
>>2865524I'm thinking of moving to Taiwan soon. I'm obviously willing to learn the language but don't know shit now. Would be nice to find a serious Taiwanese gf obviously too. What am I in for?
>>2865524Keen to see you go on a shooting spree friend
>>2865537A lot of women will treat you like a handbag and you need to accept that Otherwise it's not hard to find a decent one if you are legit and staying long term, ignore the agitprop nonsense from other "people" here

Does anyone know anything about living in Taichung? Looks superior to Taipei in a way. Huge city with 30% cheaper rents sounds good
Taiwanons, what are my chances of finding a wife or gf?>Pros:>White>Financially comfy>6'1>Athletic>Post grad >Good looking >Green eyes>Strong jaw>Cons:>42yo>Bald>No Mandarin skills>Just an English teacher How much ick do they feel with the LBH English teacher?
>>2865644You can be an English teacher and pull girls if you're young and nobody will care. Old, bald, and still working as a dancing monkey will not get you anywhere in developed parts of Asia unless you're settling for the absolute worst washed up women. You'd be better off considering Cambodia.
>>2865648Hmm. But I'll take a 35yo, even a single mom. Maybe you'd consider that washed up? I'm ok with that. I'm a state licensed teacher. I have money. I just want to chill though. Semi retired. But I'm probably gonna give heavy LBH vibes anyway ig.I used to work in Cambodia. All over SEA. I kinda like the ultra clean, ultra modern, ultra safe East Asia though.
>>2865116I watched a woman cross the street as the wind blew her hair in all directions, over her sight. She continued walking undisturbed with perfect posture and defiance at a steady pace. She had so much dignity and will, and beauty.
You don't need to know Chinese in Taiwan to have fun for a few weeks. It's only needed to date high quality local women. If that's not your aim, then you won't be disappointed. This holds true everywhere. High quality women expect being able to communicate with their partner...
>>2865680wait, you actually might be disappointed. Taiwan smells a lot and it's not as fun as Vietnam.
I heard you can see a lot of Indonesians and Filipinas who work as maids hanging out in the parks on Sundays.A little push push in the bush maybe?
>>2865644>>2865650Not hard you just need to put yourself out there with the shitty hours of their bars.Being bald is probably the biggest hurdle unless you're built
>>2865691>shitty hours of their bars.Gross. Not interested in degeneracy
>>2865694>Gross. Not interested in degeneracyAh so you're the life of a party, if you're not open to some basic social drinking once in a while to break into the community good fucking luck in any Asia country anon. I'm not saying you have to go the club each night but if you're not open to at least meeting people in an open social setting like that, you've basically limited yourself off from a huge market.
>>2865694>42>Bald>no local language>not going to the one place where people who could let that slide and want to practice English will beJoin a church then
>>2865695You literally said the shitty hours of the bars. Like some 4am slampig who pisses herself before I fuck her.>>2865696>not going to the one place where people who could let that slide and want to practice English will beWhat one place?
>>2865686what a disgusting euphemism

>>2865701no I'm not
>>2865698>You literally said the shitty hours of the bars. Like some 4am slampig who pisses herself before I fuck her.My guy... I meant shitty hours because a lot don't open up before 4PM-6pm which can be meh depending on your life style. Who the fuck thinks they are going to have a realistic conversation at 4AM>What one place?Bars are common places for locals to meet foreigners and find someone they can use to practice english with often setting up dates and other stuff after.Come on man this is basic knowledge, no wonder you are single you're social skills are of someone who's like 17
>>2865702You sound like you attract a lot of bullies
>>2865704You sound like a mega chad
>>2865703Anon. I know males encounter sexually permissive females in bars. Not actually the best place to meet someone for a serious relationship. Though your church idea is solid
>>2865705yes
>>2865710good lad
>>2865709>I know males encounter sexually permissive females in bars. Not actually the best place to meet someone for a serious relationship.Again your social views are that of someone who is underage and can't drink. Bars and Pubs are viewed insanely differently in Asia than whatever club you went to once and assume all bars are this way. People going out after work for 3-4 beers to socialize and talk is completely normal, you're acting as if I am saying go party hard till the sun comes up. A bar or pub is probably the lowest barrier of entry with most rinse and repeat options available. A church is good but everyone is going to be taken so hopefully someone has a fat aunt to marry
>>2865644>Post grad>Green eyes>Good looking>Athletic>No Mandarin skillsHow easy was it to get a GF/wife at home? Now take that level of difficulty but now realize you have no basic way of communication.

>>2865716>How easy was it to get a GF/wife at home? Now take that level of difficulty but now realize you have no basic way ofYou're saying Taiwan is the same difficulty level for White guys as their home countries but with added difficulty of language barrier?
>>2865717>Did you miss the part I said I've lived all over SEA?Because you may have lived there but you're so socially inept it's actually baffling to me that you would turn your nose up to the obvious answer.>Now tell me quality late 30s wife material can be found in bars and clubs. Hmm? Hmm anon?Dude you're 42 and bald, your best bet is a bar where some 30 something office worker who hasn't had time for a BF is fighting against their biological clock for a financially secure guy to stumble into their life so they can focus on a mother role. I didn't say clubs, I said you are addressing bars as clubs and conflating the two.>I gave you credit for your church idea now sit downAnon you're 42 not 22 and not 32, 42. A church is a good social structure and good to go to, assuming you don't go to the cult ones, but everyone and their sister is going to be 20's and getting married. This isn't Philippines, Korea, or Thailand where a 40 year old that's financially secure is worth a decade or two age gap; it's taiwan where plenty of options exist you really don't have much going for you. No you being White, somewhat financially secure(whatever this means) 6'1 doesn't go far in Taiwan when you're 42 and bald lmao.If you wanted a trad wife you should live a trad lifestyle.
>>2865721>Bro meet your middle aged wife at a bar at 4am! If you don't do this your a retard!Holy fucking warped advice. kek. Good chuckle content anon.
>>2865721>rage bait
>>2865723Anon, I didn't and am not saying, stay till you meet the 4AM bar hags who are sloshed looking for any kind of dick. Holy shit are you actually retarded? I am literally telling you go during the after work crowd to meet people, I know teachers can have odd hours that's why I said it may be weird to get to. If you can't understand social drinking and then heading home around 9-10PM from the bar after a few conversations, you are literally too socially inept to meet any women.
>>2865728How about I go there and nut inside you since you seem like an uptight nagging little faggot?
>>2865723So how's the last 25 years of dating been working out then that you need to ask on 4chan of all places for dating advice?

>>2865737unc please calm down you're too old for this
>>2865739>you're too old for this*snaps fingers. Looks me up and down
>>2865717Anon, I get women usually date older but you're not exactly selling anyone on anything with your posting and just now sitting down for "needing the traditional wife" at this point in the game you're going to need to find a compromise. >Now tell me quality late 30s wife material can be found in bars and clubsYou should be keeping all options on the table my guy, you closing down any options you possibly can have is a game ender. You're an English teacher that's not really a head turner of a career field nor something anyone respecting the salary coming in on that. Bald 42 year old and can't speak the local language with a career that can be gone in 6 months without a second thought isn't really a head turner. >>2865650>I'm a state licensed teacher. I have moneylol wow you get maybe 10-15% more than the random pino they brought in
>>2865816I told you I'm retired, dumdum. I'm just doing this for fun and a stable visa.Stop nagging me. It really feels like autistic fixation. Let it go. I don't want to meet my wife in a bar. Stop freaking out about it ffs lmao move on
>>2865122>waaaahhh I went to a foreign country and they don't speak my language >:[Ask me how I know your BMI is over 40 and you smell like ass
>>2865633For a foreigner Taipei is magnitudes easier living, but if you can integrate and speak Mandarin or at least learn then yeah Taichung is awesomeEverything has a price and tradeoff, if you are willing and keen then go for it. You'll have fun.>>2865621Lived all over Asia and its easy mode here hey, you'll be fine, but do need to understand, the fashion accessory thing is very real, there's a lot of women who have no real intention of a long term relationship yet having a western bf to show off gives them clout in their circles. I've learnt this the hard way more than once.
>>2865900>having a western bf to show off gives them clout in their circlesEven an ESL teacher?
>>2865910Yeah, spend enough time and you'll understand that its a very appearance based and superficial in many ways>>2865698>Like some 4am slampig who pisses herself before I fuck herThis is disconcertingly too specific
>>2865914>appearance based*society
What about Taichung or Kaohsiung? Thinking about working remotely out there. Anyone been?
>>2866008I worked there remotely for 6 weeks. Good facilities, but really boring for a place of its size. The food was more bland and the heat felt worse than in Taipei.
>>2866009Ok. Cool. I think I'm settling for New Taipei City. Close enough to Taipei with 30% or cheaper rents. You have any experience there?
>>2866008Both are ok for a week, just to scratch any curiosity itch, and also use as an excuse ride the trainsbut imo Taipei and the surrounding area are so much better for that. Taichung and Kaohsiung had really smelly manholes every 20 feet on most streets. Taichung lacks the nice green spaces, and it's hard to access the parks surrounding the city. I took busses and walked about an hour to reach them. Kaosiung has trains and a coast, but I tried hiking and it smelled like dog shit from the monkeys. I couldn't really enjoy these cities because it was always stinky. December Taipei air was a lot fresher imo. The air didn't cross my mind there until I returned and was grateful I didn't have to hold my breath so often>Wake up at 11am>Do whatever for 8 hours - go to Tamsui, makeng, Taipei zoo rain line, Keelung. You can cover a lot of ground. I love the south bit of Taipei and how estates merge into the mountains. It's so green there.>Work from 7pm to 3am>Sleep until 11am
>>2866009For a city of that size it definitely feels that way sometimes. The country is small enough you can visit nearly anywhere in a daytrip so Taipei makes a lot more sense to live in, especially for a foreigner>>2866011New Taipei city has much better accommodation for the price. Taiwanese people claim they don't like big windows but every apartment with sunshine and windows costs 30% more so the market doesn't match what they say.Newer apartments down in Xindian or up north in Beitou seem good value compared to in town. There's other cheap areas like Songshan but not really any foreigners there
>>2866025The Taipei parks are worth it so much. I understand why everyone likes daanMy friend lives in Wenshan and it's so green and nice near his house
How fucking cool would it be to be living in Taiwan when China invaded. No way I'd leave on a relief plane. Would be one of the greatest moments of my life. Watching one of the biggest historical events of the century live in front of your eyes.
>>2866062>How fucking cool would it be to be living in Taiwan when China invadedTaiwan is more likely to crumble to soft power far before and land, sea, or air invasion.>Watching one of the biggest historical events of the century live in front of your eyes.Let's not kid ourselves you'd be running and gunning for a bunker unless they kick you out and tell you go fight.>Would be one of the greatest moments of my life.I'm sure your country is enlisting servicemen, go for it champ

>>2866068>I'm a veteran of the British Army you silly nigger. Why do people assume to know who anonymous posters are.Because you type like some retard who sat behind a desk if what you say is true.>An invasion is unlikely but still quite possibleIt's PR shit for as long as China doesn't need a huge PR win to quell unrest/uneasy within the country. Half the reason to take Taiwan is for it's infrastructure which Taiwan gladly states it's willing to blow at the first sign of troops on the beaches. Not to mention basically every country will condemn the action. Maybe after the next elections sure, but the most realistic "invasion" is akin to how HK was taken over- I mean made fully autonomous.
>>2866074>Because you type like some retard who sat behind a desk if what you say is true.A wish to experience historical events firsthand is why I joined the army in the first place. I understand patience and soft power will likely reclaim the island but as I come closer to moving to Taiwan, a nigga can dream
>>2866062At least there's an air defense bunker close by wherever you go but I think your larping as an adventure traveler would get old real quick under bombardmentWish you well living in the hills begging your government to extract you when you had a months notice
>>2866919>begging your government to extract youPussy faggot projection
>>2866924You can go to a warzone right now big guyWhy don't you?

>>2867002And you want to hang out when autonomous drone warfare comes to town? What bullshit. I've never met a vet who likes actual war except the psychos who slipped through and those who never saw any action. Keep up the greenzone larping on a travel board thoughThere's a full scale replica of my apartment building for special forces to train on in the Chinese interior, I'm not paticularly keen myself and like Taiwan as it is. So please off to hong kong you wannabe chicom, or if you want to see action may I suggest Tehran, at the very least you've got a civil war and 40,000 dead :) It will be a fucking bloodbath multiples greater if shit goes down in Taiwan and no decent human being wants to see that
To any /fit/izens currently residing in taiwan, what are some good cheap sources of protein? Milk is expensive and the only non-deepfried chicken i've come across are the breast filets at 7/11.I asked my airbnb host for good places for groceries and he just told me 7/11. I get the impression most of the locals here subsist off of fried shit and boba tea most of the time since most of them look like theyre made of hot dog meat. At least all the walking keeps them skinny though.
>>2867359Oh shit. I'm moving from China to Taiwan. Sounds just as protein deprived. Here in China it frustrates the shit out of me. There is literally not a single piece of meat they enjoy as a main interest, it's always scraps of meat in something else.I keep seeing pic rel on tiktok. You haven't seen it at night markets?
If you want protein, get a Costco membership and start cooking your chicken breasts. They also have protein powder there. There are protein drinks and precooked chicken breasts available at 7/11 but they are obviously going to be more expensive.
>>2867375Where in China are you? Fish and meat mains are everywhere, unless you're at cheap ass back alley restaurants. Though the concept of a plain piece of meat cooked alone with zero seasoning or spices isn't really a thing. It's not common in Asia at all.
>>2867391>Where in China are you?I'm in Chongqing atm. Food is shit ass awful > a plain piece of meat cooked alone with zero seasoning or spicesAlright anon chill out nobody says they want that
>>2867403You're in the global capital of hotpot. Hotpot is just meat cooked in spicy water. You can even choose what kind of meat you want.
>>2867407anon, it's just thin slivers of meat combined with carbs and fiber. You come out if the gym, you want pure protein. I need 28g of protein every 3 hours I don't want a huge meal every 3 hours, 20% of which is protein dense. You unironically and clearly don't lift
Discussing protein with a noodle-armed skinny fat overbite dork
>>2867359Just any supermarket would have protein powder, GNC is all over in Taipei same with Watsons.
>>2867359go to carrefour and buy chicken breasts and milk. whole milk is not expensive in the supermarket.you should also be able to get cooked/roasted or rotisserie chicken parts in carrefour unless it is a small one.
>>2867375I havent been to any night markets in kaohsiung yet as when i went to taipei last year i found them underwhelming and kind of gross. Trust me there is no shortage of fried chicken here though.>>2867388>>2867468I ended up getting a costco membership and was disappointed to see that milk and chicken there weren't particularly cheap. The free samples for liquor at 10am on a monday were exciting though and i was greeted by a 70+ year old woman saying "SANK YOU AND GOD BRESS YOU" in an uncomfortably southern accent when I walked in which made the trip worth it. Plus something about owning a chinese costo card just warms my heart. unironically>Costco Card :l>Costco Card, Taiwan :OI'm hoping to avoid protein powders because I assume any local brands probably have heavy metals in them like the american ones do.>>2867652I went today and bought a bento with chicken thigh in it for like 2 dollars since I arrived right after 1pm when they mark them down. i would say that after searching far and wide i think carrefour is as cheap as milk gets for an island with no cows on it but i just looked it up and apparently there are cows here they just cant lactate hard enough to feed everyone. maybe the government should start importing fat bitches
For the last 6 months, I've been living in Japan on a student visa. While I did have a very rewarding experience, I'm choosing not to return for the 2nd semester of my school as I have no desire to try to "fit" in with japanese society and feel strongly with their sentiment that foreigners need to fuck off. That being said, the idea of returning to the states makes me shutter. I have much more of an affinity for mandarian than I do for japanese and I hear that Taiwan gives off a vibe similar to Korea in that they don't care as much if you're a white dude roaming around, they just mind their business. In Japan, that is NOT the case and it irks the fuck out of me. Should I try doing a language school in Taiwan or something? I wanted to take a gap year anyways for work (worked the last 8 years in accounting) and I wanted to also see if there were opportunities to stay longer but in the case of Japan, it's not the place I want to be. But I've definitely realized that Asia and the walkability/cities/food etc are all things that click for me
>>2867842Unironically please keep us updated on the protein quest. I'm moving to Taiwan in a few months and it sounds like I'm leaving one protein desert and entering another. Kinda pissed. They don't have fish everywhere? It's a fucking island
>>2867359Your options>eggseat eggs nigger>Traditional marketbuy real meat>健康餐盒 on google for lunchboxes, there’s usually places with extra proteins for fitfags
>>2867874>I hear that Taiwan gives off a vibe similar to Korea in that they don't care as much if you're a white dude roaming around, they just mind their business. In Japan, that is NOT the case and it irks the fuck out of me. Why do you care what some old racist Japanese boomer or incel guys think?Just ignore, act like like a chad and fuck Japanese women, it won't irk you when you're balls deep in Japanese girls.
>>2867881>Just ignore, act like like a chad and fuck Japanese women, it won't irk you when you're balls deep in Japanese girls.Sexist much?
>>2867842>I'm hoping to avoid protein powders because I assume any local brands probably have heavy metals in them like the american ones do.Oh boy do I have BAD news for you about fish in Asia then... you're overthinking this hard, keep in mind that was like 1-2 brands and was following only California retard mode safety concerns. Yes the same state that leagalized giving others STD's. Protein powder is fine drink more water, the vitamins you take and water you drink there is probably far worse. >>2867876GNC has protein bars, powder, etc. Seriously not hard to get proper protein, a pork bowl at Sukiya is cheap as hell McDonalds almost always has good breakfast deals. Without anon saying his protein goals hard to recommend anything big. Tons of shops have just full chicken or pork platters it's pretty easy to find what you need, you're overthinking it.
>>2865148Am I the only one that likes Taiwanese food? Everyone seems to shit on it.Am in heaven in some of these dumpling joints.Hotpot is solid, there's Jap-owned restaurants and izakayas all over. The economy buffets are stuff yourself stupid tier. I don't get the hate for it, you can eat out all the time for not much with far healthier options here than anywhere else on Earth.>>2867412>I need 28g of protein every 3 hoursleast deranged /fit/izenGuessing you don't have a stove in your airbnb? Chicken breast from carrefour or pxmart is cheapWithout cooking equipment and trying to keep costs down I'd go the convenience store packaged chicken breasts and century eggs. When I didn't have a kitchen would buy a few of those to put in the microwave with cheese on top (fuck cooking things in a plastic bag like they do in store), then on a sandwich with some lettuce and kewpie mayo, would be hitting over 30g protein for a small meal.If you're willing to eat out then dumplings are protein rich, I pay 120 for ten pork dumplings which is 90% meat, Korean BBQ you can just sit there and solely eat meat no one will even blink.
>>2868200>far healthier options than anywhere else on EarthStrong doubt on that point. But of course there are some places that are tasty.
>>2868205There's plenty of deep fried shit everywhere and some of the bakery/fried bread things obviously aren't daily foodstuffs, but on the whole I think it's very easy to eat healthy without a kitchen in Taiwan. You actually get a serving of vegetables each time unlike a lot of Asia.
U all just 978.life for good the real reason u come fucking teaching will be replaced with telescam
>>2868207>opens 6 pmSo annoying these late opening timesAt $5 a bowl you should get a little better quality than the $2.50 or $3 meals which I typically went for, and which has a couple bites of mushy greens as the extent of vegetable intake. One vegetarian restaurant in Hualien served excellent food with all kinds of exotic mushrooms and other strange veggies, but charged 200 a plate. Mostly its that brown onions sauce that everything is flavored with. I grew to hate the flavor. That bento box smell in the convenience stores is also disgusting.
>>2867412>. I need 28g of protein every 3 hours I don't want a huge meal every 3 hours,No, you really don't lol this is that GET RIPPED QUICK! shit that doesn't really work. As long as you eat your bulk of protein around 3ish hours before or after working out you're fine. You're not hugh jackman
>>2868200>DumplingsGood but basic food and there's more variety and often better execution in Mainland>HotpotSame comment as above>Jap restaurantsGreat welcome to every major city in E Asia>Far healthier than anywhere else on earthThat's a stretchI am the one you're responding to so my opinion is already stated"The food in Taiwan sucks (relative to other E Asia destinations, in a vacuum its fine/good)"I dont think this is an unreasonable position though starts hyperbolic. The food in Taiwan is generally more bland and with less protein than neighboring destinations. Its more 'snack' based so to speak with nightmarkets or quick single dish restaurants (eg noodles) than larger meals. Most of their food is an inferior version of a Mainland style and what is truly local is mostly not special. Exception - Taiwan beef noodle soup is the best beef noodle soup in the Sinosphere

It's an environmental/sustainability thing. Call me a woke faggot for it I don't care, the oceans are being raped if not completely depleted especially in this region. >>2868534Those Chinese ships aren't just fishing for China. They're Chinese, yeah, but they're selling those fish to every country on earth. Restaurants buy cheap fish because it makes for higher profit margins, and they don't have the obligation to tell you who fished it.

I'm flying to Taiwan tomorrow; Tainan and Taipei. I want to do a daytrip to Kaohsiung while I'm in Tainan. How's getting back late at night? I found that the last train towards Tainan leaves just before midnight. If I miss the last train, how easy is it to find an uber/taxi? I wanted to do some tourist stuff on Cijin/Qijin during the day and then migrate to downtown Kaohsiung for dinner, drinks, and try to find a live music bar.

>>2868515>Gains goblins ITTAnon the "need to have protein ever X hours" is a huge meme only meant for those actually doing some lookmaxxing BS which yes hugh jackman does for specific roles. A large meal for breakfast, you can get a 35g protein shake at any 711 for like 75ntd or 2.50, hitting ~100-120g of protein is fucking easy in about 2ish meals. This is if you're actually needing that much which I don't think most people on /fit/ do because every time I've meet a /fit/izen from /trv/ they are DYEL "yeah I gym like a lot(see: 1-2 times) a week". doubt most people here could do 5 sets of 8x115kg leg presses. That's a low bar man like monday after a weekend of drinking>korean bbq is expensive to eat everyday and dumplings are too oily. might as well hit the kendeji bulk at that pointProtein doesn't give a shit how you get it anon, just that your body gets it. Yes eating the real meat and protein is always preferable to something like a shake or supplement, but hey it's not going to just be run through the body like water, though it may digest slightly faster due to not as much to breakdown, so timing is a bit more key.Taiwan has a ton of chicken everywhere, supermarkets full of frozen chicken. Fish/seafood is literally everywhere to be had high in protein. Like hell, KFC which is everywhere is like what 180ntd for a chicken leg and breast meal. that's probably like 40-50g of protein there for 4 bucks, and that's "I am so lazy" mode.>>2869820no one who is white actually likes that
Like breakfast 2 of those sandwiches would be cheap as hell, egg+chicken+bacon bruh what are we doing. If that's too expensive and you're against using protein bars/shakes to supplement, you really are too poor to travel to Taiwan for bulking. This is all assuming you don't want to use BOGO deals at places or too catty to grab some night market food

Taiwan’s is very much less visually appealing and somewhat rundown compared to the immaculate and organized streets of Japan.

To compromise, I agreed to get off at the next stop, which was 50 km ahead and within range of the local trains serving Yilan County. >>2869864IDK if you're still looking, Anon, but try AirBNB. I got a really nice apartment in the Q-Square mall across from Taipei Main Station for something like $60/night. Right now, looking at the AirBnB map zoomed in on that Q-Square mall, there are fifteen different prices listed for fifteen different rooms in that building. Here's another one for 20% less:https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12897349?search_mode=regular_search&adults=1&check_in=2026-07-05&check_out=2026-07-10&children=0&infants=0&pets=0&source_impression_id=p3_1775055040_P37W_8gBEKtssmV-&previous_page_section_name=1000&federated_search_id=2abbdd5d-ac01-48fc-8c73-51cc7f70a416If you zoom out a little on the AirBnB map, it looks like there are more available at other large mall-like buildings across the street and/or next to the Q-Square building. Lots of choices.
>>2873628>Taoyuan has a lot more foreign factory workers, so it's easier to get laid thereI've been in Taoyuan for a week now, I haven't seen 1 brown Asian. Anyone know which cities to find them? Thinking of moving to New Taipei or Kaohsiung. I want to meet some Indo or Flip migrant worker, get married and breed her. The Taiwanese girls that match me on Tinder are low quality. Need brown and desperate. Please give advice
>>2873611>and nobody gives them a pressure wash with bleach. Taiwanese don't idolize flashy glamorous appearance as a general ruleThere's some really nice buildings around with full stone exteriors but otherwise this is spot onThe humidity fucks everything you see it all over SEA too
>>2873800>The humidity fucks everything you see it all over SEA tooShut up retard, Bangkok, KL and Singapore do not look like Taiwan because muh humidity
Some things I've noticed about Taiwan compared to China (lived in Chongqing 2 years)>TW food is better >TW people are friendlier >TW people speak English more gooder >safer to cross the road in TW. Cars stop for you>Uglier matches on dating apps>Scruffier, grittier but more character streets in TW>So many bolt hole restaurants look like they've been running since the 60s>TW people will wait for 10 minutes for a green walk light at a zebra crossing in a 7 foot wide alley at night with no cars in sight
Anyone keen to try drinks again this weekend? May as well go Maji, if it works it works>>2873804Yes they do what are you talking about? The black mold stuff is all over those citiesSingapore does a little bit more to clean up because 70% of the buildings are government owned and get more regular cleans but otherwise its literally the same thing as in Taiwant.lived in all of those places for over a year
>>2873805It's a headfuck coming from seamonkey land where people will actually stop for you at crosswalks hereI've been beaten down so hard by south east asia that I stop and give way to cars on them out of instinct
