Flights from India to Thailand have definitely gone up in price. I was seeing flights for as low as $90 one-way before this shitstorm kicked off, $150 roundtrip. Just checked and roundtrips are now starting at $350 from Delhi. Most one-way tickets are $200+.

I'll be making the trip no matter the cost. An extra $100 in airfare doesn't matter much when measured against eight months of travel around the entire circumference of the earth. But for a group of jeets taking a vacation, the extra cost makes a big difference.

When I first visited during December peak tourist season in 2023, Yaowarat Rd was more than a bit chaotic. The famous street food market was literally jammed nut to butt with pedestrians. Even in India I've never been stuck in a crowd barely able to move forward, but there I was, because there is a barrier separating the road from the market. Every plastic chair was taken, and people were feasting on the most exquisite seafood imaginable. Lots of groups standing around waiting for a table and blocking passage for others. Personally I prefer the outlying provinces because they are much cleaner due to massive new public works projects.
