Yes, it’s good here. You just need to have a bit of money to spare…Feel free to ask native anything.
>what if appalachia was 5x as expensive and everyone was snooty and coldno thanks, seems like a stuck up place for psychopaths
>>2875933Appalachia doesn’t look like this.>5x as expensiveYou can save alot of money by tenting or staying at small cabins at caravan parks>everyone was snooty and coldNot really, in rural Norway you can strike up conversations with locals pretty easily.
>>2875955it literally would if it were colder and next to the ocean its the exact same mountains on the other side of the tectonic plate>You can save alot of money by tenting or staying at small cabinsI already stay in small cabins and it aint cheap, only gonna be double what I pay now to be in norway, you pay an absurd price for appalachia by the sea>Not really, in rural Norway you can strike up conversations with locals pretty easily.um no
>>2875957Yes they were connected millions of years ago, but they are nowhere the same. Apalachia is inland and more eroded while also not being particularly covered in glaciers the past million years so you don’t have as dramatic landscape as the fjords of Norway. The tallest mountain in Apalachia is also notably shorter than many Norwegian mountains. You also don’t need to deal with bearing the witness of the horrific decline of quality of life that they have in Apalachia.> I already stay in small cabins and it aint cheapHow much?> um noyes
>>2875963>Apalachia is inland and more eroded while also not being particularly covered in glaciers the past million years I literally already said thisglaciers just means its so cold snow doesn't melt and this causes a fuckton more erosionits just colder climate appalachia by the sea at 5x the price, its a place for suckersi wish your corrupt oil money could be distributed to the poor people of appalachia and norway fully depopulated for good let it go back to being owned by lemmings >How much?it depends but usually 100-160~ a night sometimes a bit more for a cabin with a full kitchen and 1 bdrm/main bed>You also don’t need to deal with bearing the witness of the horrific decline of quality of life that they have in Apalachia.its kinda fun to see all the abandoned homes its like a game show in real life except there are no prizes, just booby traps>The tallest mountain in Apalachia is also notably shorter than many Norwegian mountains.by about 1400 ft, its not that bigly a difference
>>2875964>its just colder climate appalachia by the sea>apalachia is just a colder, more elevated FloridaYou see the problem with this reductionist logic?> it depends but usually 100-160~ a night sometimes a bit more for a cabin with a full kitchen and 1 bdrm/main bedHow about $80?> by about 1400 ft, its not that bigly a difference>"your dick is only 3 inches longer than mine, not a big difference"
>>2875986well no, geologically florida isn't appalachiaappalachia is the ridge and valley mtns and the higher elevation plateaus that branch out beyond them to the immediate west>80 a nightyeah and all the food is triple the cost what it is hereall supplies cost far moreyou pay a huge tax for having mountains by the sea in a white ppl countrynorway is bland and sanitizedappalachia is raw and energetic
Norway is overrated, I really expected more.I am from Washington state though and I didn't feel like Norway had anything the American west didn't. Maybe some larger more impressive Fjords but that's really it. Norway is prohibitevly expensive. The transportation infrastructure is lacking. The narrow Mountain/coastal roads are flooded with German tourists in campers every summer and driving anywhere is a frustrating prospect. The rail network is lacking.Norwegians themselves are some of the most stuck up people in the word and are wholly unpleasant to deal with. The big cities are shut down by 10pm. A beer cost 13 dollars at a pub. If you're going to Norway for purely /out/ activities and adhere to a strict budget it's fine. Otherwise, fuck that place.>inb4 stupid AmericanYeah I know, but you I'm right
looks boring as. might be nice to visit though
>>2875989>well no, geologically florida isn't appalachiaappalachia is the ridge and valley mtns and the higher elevation plateaus that branch out beyond them to the immediate westIf you can’t see the sarcasm in what I said, I’m afraid you probably have autismo.> yeah and all the food is triple the cost what it is herelol no
>>2876026>I didn't feel like Norway had anything the American west didn't. Otherwise, fuck that place.sounds like you’re poor and fatDoes continental US have constant northern lights btw?
>>2876048>>2876048>Rent a carI did. Driving in Norway is frustrating and boring. The speed limits are turbo cuck slow the rental companies try to force you into a gay electric car. The road infrastructure is lacking. You'd think with all that oil money you'd build some bridges and not need to take ferries across half the fjords.>Poor and fatNot sure how praising the /out/ qualities of the country implies that. I was genuinely disappointed by the soulless urban centers of Bergen and Stavanger. The Neo commie-block housing present everywhere is particularly drab.>Northern lightsHappens regularly enough.
>>2876026as someone from Norway you are 100% right, there is nothing here besides mountains which you can see for much cheaper in other places. I have travelled the world more myself without travelling Norway because even if you live here the prices for travel are obscene
>>2876057> The speed limits are turbo cuck slow>the burgergolem brain cannot comprehend the concept of road safety to reduce fatalitiesChart related makes burgers confused and angry> The road infrastructure is lacking. You'd think with all that oil money you'd build some bridges and not need to take ferries across half the fjords. That’s the price of living in a very archipelagic country which none of your states are like.Besides those bridges ain’t cheap. The Neo commie-block housing present everywhere is particularly drab.>visiting Norway for the cities, when I’ve constantly highlighted the nature insteadBesides Stavanger, Haugesund and Bergen are actually quite nice in the older parts, with preserved traditional coastal architecture unlike Oslo. There are also numerous charming villages along the Western coast.Even Southern Norway has very pretty villages.
>>2876060>there is nothing here besides mountains which you can see for much cheaper in other places>I have travelled the world more myself without travelling Norwayhva faen…åssen kan du si det når du ikke engang har reist>even if you live here the prices for travel are obsceneBli ferdig med studiene…det er helt vanlig å ta en ferie en gang i blant til vestlandet med en rusten skoda og teltet til pappa.
1. How extensive are the everymans rights in your country? Can I legit just camp out in random bushes and forests as long as they are outside the city areas and are public land?2. how are the hoes there ?
>>2876065>Can I legit just camp out in random bushes and forests as long as they are outside the city areas and are public land?As long as you are 150m away from any private building and on land where camping is not explicitly prohibited(obvious signage present), you can camp basically anywhere.>how are the hoes there ?easy
>>2876068Oh yeah btw it does not include farmland or fenced areas, but that should be obvious.
>>2876063>just rent a carCar travel is expensive, inefficient and boring with no easy and simple public transportation option>Yes, it's actually a good thing that the speed limit is 70km and you have to plan your day around ferry timetables, because soul. You're being a retarded Norwegian again bro. Also pretty much all of coastal Maine has substantial archipelagos, in addition to Maryland, Rhode Island and North Carolina. Even metropolitan Seattle is heavily integrated with outlaying island.
>>2876071> Car travel is expensive, inefficient and boring with no easy and simple public transportation optionI thought you Americans loved cars?>it’s boring driving through gorgeous landscapes>Yes, it's actually a good thing that the speed limit is 70km and you have to plan your day around ferry timetables, because soul.akshuly 80, and if you had decent cognitive abilities(or no autism), you’d comprehend that you don’t really save that much time going from 50 to 60mph.> Also pretty much all of coastal Maine has substantial archipelagos, in addition to Maryland, Rhode Island and North Carolina.Yeah but they’re flat plains rather than masive mountains rising 500m up from the shore.>Pudget Soundlike a little baby compared to the entirety of Norway’s coast.
>ITT: 2 spergs arguing over whose country is better
>>2876078Euros get so mad when you point out that you already have a better version of their natural wonders in America. Pic relAt this point you're just contradicting yourself about car travel.
>>2876142>complains about infrastructure and long drive times in Norway>then proceeds posts this area as gotchawhich has no roads btw LMAO>>2876085I came in here making this thread in good faith only for obese burgergolems to barge in and call my country shit and unimpressive.
>>2876150>makes thread to discuss country>gets mad when country is discussedWhy are Norwegians like this? In good faith though, I'll admit there was a little bit of Paris syndrome with Norway. I expected a lot and was let down. With the wealth of the country I expected something more similar to Switzerland who's geography is just as challenging but still manages to have great transportation infrastructure. While the Swiss aren't bashful about their wealth they don't try to hide it and society accepts it as part of their daily life. Norwegians on the other hand seem to pretend that they don't actually have money. While the picture you posted is nice but it's not the reality of the country that I saw. The towns are unusually austere and minimalist and the people seem so devoid of joy. As far as the nature goes there just wasn't anything I haven't seen in Washington state or Alaska. I've seen fjords just as impressive taking the inner passage. Seattle has a lot of problems but the natural beauty is just as impressive with more civilian infrastructure. I have old growth forests cascading down to the Pacific Ocean just an hours drive away. It's not to say Norway isn't a beautiful country, I'm sure someone from Kansas would be impressed. Ill leave the thread alone though.
It's very expensive and the locals think they're hot shit. People like to shit on French for being unlikeable but Norwegians are some of the biggest stuck up turboautists IRL. They literally think their country is the greatest thing on God's green earth. Go to Ireland for nature and people, Irish people mog those cold autists to depths of hell despite living in the worst possible climate that'd make anyone depressed and cold.
Norway is fine but the people, economy, costs, and things to do make me want to kms. One of my best friends lives in Bergen, I decided to do a full 90 day stay around norway. Every town is dumb and gay, people will literally just go home to drink alone or walk because they are too scared to call a taxi and speak to someone. You're better off moving to Fargo ND and having some college town parties than anything Norway has.>muh mountainsyeah cool>>2876150Shit like this is cool till you visit and then realize, ah that's it...
>>2876150I think it’s a beautiful country norwanon. Must be blissful to just fall asleep under a tree. Would like to visit for a long duration, just stay in the inns, watch the life go by.
>>2875931Do you like risgrøt and rømmegrøt? I’ve been learning how to make them and they’re quite tasty
>>2876150This just seems like any tiny little town. There cannot be a whole lot of entertainment. Maybe just a pub, and a locally owned restaurant or two. But otherwise not really anything a tourist would care about unless they are going out to see a tiny little town in the mountains. I feel like it would be cold and weird for someone that has no family there.
How would a white amerifat fare in norway? I tried tinder in bergen once and didn't get any matches lmao
>>2877383You have no chance unless you're enlisted in the army/navy and wearing the uniform.>>2876404>90 day stay around norwayHoly fucking shit, how did you not get bored to death? We had a frenchman on /int/ who went to Bergen to study, and he overdosed after five months. As others have said, if you're coming here, you better bring a tent, sleeping bag, tarp, stove and fishing rod. There's fuckall to eat outside of the towns. There can be 500 km of coastline where your only options are kebap or pizza. If you're lucky there a supermarket with grilled chicken. What Norway do has to offer is the freedom to camp almost anywhere in nature without being shot at, and fish from the lakes. Fishing permits are required, and you need to be sure to get the right one. From the sea you can fish as much as you want. If it isn't obvious, get a car.
>>2877383No more Americans, everyone is far too tired of stupid fat burgers.
>>2877386>Holy fucking shit, how did you not get bored to death? We had a frenchman on /int/ who went to Bergen to study, and he overdosed after five months.Have a good amount of friends in Bergen/Oslo, mostly found a gym and worked out a lot. Yeah it gets very mundane very fastNorway is fine but if you couldn't make it or live in the US midwest happily you'll end yourself early in Norway.>b-but Oslo!Norwegians are among the worst at socializing, events get stale, you end up hating how orderly some things are unless level 99 autist, and the weather gets old fast.
>>2875931im saudi, i had a lot of friends from norway i used to snowboard with, girls are all chill, whats the best time to visit, and i know its expensive will $5k USD be enough for a month stay+exploring?
>>2876402>People like to shit on French for being unlikeable but Norwegians are some of the biggest stuck up turboautists IRL. They literally think their country is the greatest thing on God's green earth. They kinda have the right to, tho.
>>2876404>Shit like this is cool till you visit and then realize, ah that's it...That’s like every tourist destination in the world
>>2876404What are you expecting when going to some small fishing village? Normally those are the places people want to get away from when traveling to interesting locations. Because there is not much in the small village other than homes and typical shops for the locals. I think those places only work for people who have family there and can visit relatives and get in on things like a local. Anyone with no connection to them is going to be bored.
>>2877725>best timeMy fav is late April-May. Everything is blooming around that time which makes it colourdul and gorgeous, the mountains are still snowcapped, it’s mostly sunny, there aren’t as many tourists and the temperature can still reach mid 20s celsius. Only caveat is that it can still get quite cold and some tourist facilities aren’t open yet.July is pretty nice weather-wise but it’s packed with tourists.June and August generally have the shittiest weather. If you want Winter, January is generally a solid month.>$5,000Should be enough if you don’t stay at the fanciest hotels/AirBNBs and you rent a cheap EV. Most places are gonna charge you $80-120 a night, so you won’t have the biggest budget for food and other activities.
>>2878085Incel fantasies of drunk hookups abroad drive their fascination with travel. Take out the possibility of easy sex, and the incel sees no reason to leave his house.
>>2878084Numbers are utterly meaningless. There's a reason why people wish they could move to places like Spain even if its worse off in every metric than Norway.
>>2878771That’s because it’s warm most of the time, not because of economic factors.Norwegians who live there still mainly rely on income from the superior conditions at home. This logic is so stupid when you think of it. Do you think Thailand is an overall superior country to any Western country?
>>2878794>Do you think Thailand is an overall superior country to any Western country?yes if you want to think about anything besides the economy
>>2878827Christ you’re retarded
>>2875931i loved norway, i accidently came on mai 17th (didnt know it was a day) when i was in bergan and i was much fun. i just hiked the mountain and hung around churches, my only socialization was people saying random norweigan to me, as im a recluse and dont like social drugs.i went to sleep in the woods after but didnt get comfy so i wandered to the train station but got tired of the piss and stuff bcuz drunks. so i paid 1 euro for the shitter, and rolled my matt out and slept waiting for my train back to oslo.had tons of other things i wont mention but that day is the most "patriotic"love from california. (prices were as cheap as im used to) (drink a litago chocolate milk for me pls)im fucked up right now and i feel fucking dumb gushing online about ur little base.
