I'm thinking of going in June. I'm thinking of skipping the Sundarbans because it's monsoon season desu.

Is that a mistake? Any places you recommend?

I dated a girl on whose hometown was in Tripura which is right on the Bangladesh border. They have some hotties in Bangladesh. I would be worried about the whole muslim thing though.

I know Myanmar is having to routinely drive out Bangladeshis, but what is the story with these? It seems the Northern ones are Nepali adjacent, but how did India get all of this? Is England to blame somehow?
>>
I went during monsoon season and ended up getting dysentery after having to wade through floodwater to get to the airport. Flag down a tuktuk and have him carry you over that shit.
Otherwise I love Bangladesh, I do recommend getting out of the city.

>Going to Bangladesh
Why? Genuinely, why? What attractions does the country boast?

I haven't been myself but of the three Westerners I've met who have (one as a tourist, two volunteering with an NGO), all three described it as boring, dirty and ugly. They all said it was not worth visiting.
The only Bangladeshi I've asked also said he would not recommend it ask a tourist destination.

>They have some hotties in Bangladesh
Not many of them. I work in immigration and Bangladeshis have been one of the top three countries for applicants over the past year (along with India and Nepal). The overwhelming majority of Bangladeshi women are extremely ugly.
They don't tend to smell as bad as Indian women though.

To blame implies they did something wrong. They did not.

When the British Raj was partitioned into India and Pakistan, the Muslim-majority areas went to Pakistan and the rest went to India (with exceptions for some of the Princely States which were nominally sovereign entities). West Bengal and Bihar are Hindu-majority, Meghalaya and Nagaland are Christian-majority so they all went to India. Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan, and East Bengal before that) is Muslim-majority so it went to Pakistan (declaring independence done time later).
Ethnicity is much more complicated than that but that's a whole different issue.

Bangladesh has probably some of the most hospitable people on earth, amazing chaotic cities, awesome country life, and it's one of the last true river civilizations if you venture into the Chars

There are two types of travelers: those who just want to relax and not be too stimulated and just do nothing, and those who want to experience things they'd never find at home.

For those of us living in reasonably clean and decent places, visiting a third world shithole where people scurry around like an ant colony is a good time. We wouldn't want to live there, but we're bored with our day to day and experiencing absolute chaos for a week is fun. Then by the end of our trip, we're looking forward to coming home and we feel satisfied with our boring day to day, at least for a little while. Some people out there get post-vacation depression because they just sit on a beach, get drunk, and have sex. And that's a fun week, but going back to normalcy after that fucking sucks. But if you're riding around on a rusty ass tuktuk for 50 cents a trip, surrounded by smelly people and laughing because it's basically a giant theme park to you and you know you can leave, you come home feeling like you've made it in life since your boring day to day is a much better existence.

After so many months of aimless wandering around frenetic anthill countries, it actually feels good to return to my home country and be a worker ant in an environment which is so much more ploddingly predictable and rules-based.

If you watch pro life traveler on YouTube he's the dude that got arrested and deported from Philippines just recently he's Estonian and pretty low IQ and he just went to Bangladesh and it's disgusting and filthy.
The only people going to Bangladesh and saying it's nice are Bangladeshis, watch his video and decide for yourself. You'll save yourself thousands of dollars and illness by staying home

Who cares what some retard on youtube thinks? It's impossible to know what it's like because it's impossible to get the real thing while walking around with a camera out like a douchebag.

If you watch the video you see exactly what it's like as of last week you fucking brain-dead moronic cunt
The entire time he is there every single person he comes into contact with us trying to pick pocket him, scam him, abduct him or spit on him and the entire time 24hrs a day they have nothing but incessant honking
He gets on a motorcycle taxi with a bottle of coke asks the driver where can be put all his trash the driver takes it and throws it in the middle of the filthy street and laughs

The only people who can tolerate such a fthy country are Bangladeshis

Saw Bangladesh from kolcota, it's like a trash fire so big you can see it from hundreds of miles away.

The defining feature of Bengal is that 175 fucking million people want to leave it. To India, myanmar, the US, anywhere. Literally anywhere. Their passport has one of the lowest if not the lowest value in the world. The county has never controlled its birth rate so exists in a perpetual state of squalor and famine. Like India if there were 4 times more people in it. The British tried to commit two genocides there just to get rid of them. The UN tried to invade myanmar just to move them out of India and so all the arkanese tried to kill the bengalis as well. Then the bamer tried to kill all the bengalis, and i think the junta is still continuing that tradition.

I only know locals who went there across the border, no tourists. Maybe one. Reported the people were friendly but the number of people gawking and stalking you was worse then India
