This summer I am an unemployed worthless chud but my based father said he would give me money to travel. I've only left the country like twice with family and I've never solo travelled, so what are the most retard-proof destinations? I was thinking the Netherlands could be one, since I read most people speak can english there. Pls no bully
>>2881199I was just like you last year, except I started at 25 with my own money from a job. Just pick literally anywhere that personally interests you. My first trip was to Berlin because it had lots of cool history and hot alt girls (though I didn't get to bang any cuz I'm an incel virgin). Don't worry about being retard-proof, as literally every major city in Europe is full of English speakers and infrastructure that makes getting around easy. Even if you encounter struggles, consider it a learning experience. Literally just do research and plan a trip that personally interests you. Amsterdam is great, but you could just as easily do Berlin, or Prague, or Sarajevo or whatever. They all get tons of English speaking tourists and know how to deal with them. Just go where looks cool and have fun
>>2881199where are you
>>2881199Sweden, Netherlands, CroatiaAll three have widely spoken English and won't get pissy at you for speaking it like the Spanish/French. That also caters for a range of budgets, climates and cultures.I think in Sweden something like 89% of the population speak English. Stockholm has excellent public transport via an app and google maps works perfectly with their system. Vienna does as well but English isn't so widely spoken (or maybe they just don't like speaking it as much).Just remember that all of that means nothing if you're too scared/anxious to actually speak to people, which you will have to do in order to get tickets and food.>>2881221Is Berlin better for English speaking now? I went about a decade ago and remember it being pretty tricky without at least rudimentary German skills. A book of phrases (like I used in Vienna) worked well enough though.>>2881222This. How are we meant to give advice? I would have said obviously England would be an easy place to go to speak English but maybe you're from there?
>>2881199Don't worry about choosing a retard proof destination, most places in the world are easy enough to navigate if you speak English these days. Just choose whatever country gets you most excited to visit.
>>2881222>>2881247I’m from Canada. England is off the table at the moment for… reasons
>>2881270go to quebec
>>2881270Come to England habibi!!!All jokes aside, although it would be easy for you as an English speaker here there are nicer places to go in Europe. London is entertaining for about two days before you want to flee. How long are you going for?(You're not Lauren Southern are you? Canadian and banned from UK?)
>>2881273No I’m not Lauren Southern haha. I can go for like up to 3 weeks, so multiple destinations are on the table
>>2881274If you're doing multiple, as a rough guide:I did Stockholm in 2.5 days but it could have done with 4 really. Being new to travelling I'll assure you it's just about the easiest experience you can have so would be a good start, just careful with the budget.Vienna is also worth 3-4 days, depends how much you do though. It's mostly retard-proof but don't expect English to be readily understood everywhere.Amsterdam I only did for 1 day, I didn't find myself wanting more time there honestly. I thought Haarlem was much nicer. It's a retard-proof country though, everyone spoke English even 12 years ago. Apparently it got quite busy with tourists though now. Maybe look at doing Utrecht and Amsterdam or similar.Poland generally: Avoid for retard proofing, people under 30 will speak English but it's a real mix for the rest. But don't let that really put you off it, a basic phrase book and knowing that "w" is pronounced "v" in Polish will help a lot.Croatia has similar levels of English speaking to the Netherlands, I did 2 days in Split and found that adequate. Public transport is worse but you can find out on youtube how to get from airports to cities.Broadly all you need to know for retard proof solo travel is:- Public transport arrangements (particularly check if you have to validate/activate tickets, as a Britoid I don't understand why it's a thing but it is) - Google translate on your phone (pre-download the language) and some basic phrases written down- Keep a reserve of money for using your wallet to get out of problems, for example if the trains aren't running at the right time to get to your flight, so you can pay the expensive uber fee.- To remember that most people around the world are friendly and want to help, it is very difficult to get yourself into a bad situation in most places without deliberately doing so
>>2881199 what do you like - or imagine you'd like?are u keeping to yourself or trying to meet people?if you are using a train - ticket machines all have english button.you have a smart phonebut at a ticket machine in a high immigrant area is not somewhere to doddle. Every service industry person knows enough english to get by in a tourist area - and if they dont they can figure out you want food/a grocery bag/gas for your car etc.uber is pretty straight forward. taxis if you dont have cash make sure to ask do they take card - different countries a bunch of taxis do cash only business.plenty of times i have a quick euro trip opportunity, if its very last minute and i dont care where im going i look at weather forecast and sometimes in spring only one region has good weather.I just got back from vienna - i'd say apart from reading the train schedule if you're someone who never reads a train schedule, its very very easy.
canada origin- is it cheapest to fly to dublin?
