Scowling brothers and cousins lurking nearby of course.Personally I preferred the mild climate of the Andean highlands, with low prices for lodging and a lack of beach bum gringo tourists. I cut my Caribbean trip short to return to the highlands, cancelling some reservations and even walking out on a five-night hostel stay in Cartagena only three nights in. Taganga National Park is more pristine, but it's also a giant ripoff. Meme leaning palm trees over a jungle beach with muh sand and waves. European backpackers paying double price for everything. That being said, the rich Euro beach girls are more slender than Colombian fatties and often walk around hostels wearing little clothing. So you do get eye candy on a regular basis, and you definitely have a good chance of getting laid if you look good in swimming trunks and know how to have a good time when the sun goes down.

We bussed to Parque Tayrona and it was very tourist but not a dump, I had fun there staying at one of the eco hostels. If I ever went to that part of Colombia again ( probably not) I'd just fly in and out of Santa Marta.

Be smart about it but I had a great time. If you're really really paranoid, most strip clubs are also brothels. My time in medellin was a bit boring, i think if you speak spanish you'll have a 100x better time than me thosocial aspect is meh, you always have to be on the look out one guy i met was a dumb fuck and got drugged by two women he met online, but another "friend" i met was a mexican guy and he just got his drink spiked and they took everything he had on him, i had left earlier so i didn't see but he seemed like a normal guy that got unluckyfood is ok only. also colombians women are like 50% normal woman like you have at home, 40% seriously weird looking, and 10% hot af, but it's like the rest in south america,most of them are fat and don't know how to dressand local will probably hate you because most of them are too dumb to know the difference between a tourist and a digital nomad
