37 y/o, fit but also a manlet. Have lived in Airbnbs and hotels the last 2 years seeing bucket list sites in the states. Remote income, have healthy investment portfolio.Should I leave the US? No kids, no wife, all possessions fit into 4 bags. Part of me wants to buy a barndominium/shop house to work on projects and cars. Other part wants to try life outside the US. Country recommendations? Not a sex pest, but plan to date if I meet cool chicks.
>usa >manletJust leave. USA treats men under 6 feet tall like shit. Leaving the USA was the best decision I ever made for my social and dating life. Americans are severely mentally ill and spiritually rotten.
>>2884037Why do anti-americans always sound like literal retards or emotional spurges
If you don't have any friends or family why not. Would advise taking 4 bags down to 2 unless you want to hate yourself.>>2884039Because most americans don't realize how well off they have it and need to go to a poor brown country where they get seen as a VISA out or walking piggy bank and think BASED.
Is life even worth living at 37?
>>2884030If you are a manlet, just go to Cambodia. YOu will be like a king there
>unc-cel thread #3884
>>2884057Doubtful. Cambo is a shithole that loves ripping off foreigners. But I'll probably be going there anyway next month, if Thailand really is cutting visa exemptions to 30 days for foreigners. My planned Thailand trip was 38 days long.>>2884030Usually I wouldn't recommend leaving the US. But if you're already flush with money and living in temporary lodging, then yes you should go overseas. But don't expect to keep busy. Your life will be one of idleness surrounded by people who don't speak your language. They will tolerate you and do business with you, but they won't understand why you live the way you do. So don't go expecting some kind of human connection with the locals. Those who do always end up disappointed. Also, be mobile, visit difficult mountainous areas, go on treks, test yourself. If you start rotting drinking drugging in one place, it becomes a bad habit which is very difficult to kick.>>2884043Four bags is too much. Either get two giant suitcases to transport your shit in checked baggage or else get rid of it. You can always buy clothes and other junk in whatever Thirdie country you end up in.
>>2884165>Usually I wouldn't recommend leaving the USWhy? In my experience, the only things the US has going for it are easy money and pristine nature. Once you have financial security the only sane options are to homestead or gtfo. I'm assuming op isn't into Asian girls or this would be a no-brainer.
>>2884044that is when life begins
>>2884348Really? It honestly feels like mine is ending, why would you say that?
>>2884165> My planned Thailand trip was 38 days long. You know it’s completely trivial to pop by an immigration office and get a 15-30 day extension, right?
>>2884069>I will never get old>it will never happen to me
>>2884030>US worth living at 37?the US is mostly worth it for high salariesand for some cities, if that's your style and you have the money (for example SF is one of the most livable cities in the world, if you have enough money to live in one of the nice neighborhoods)but as it seems>Remote income, have healthy investment portfolioyou don't need the income and you likely don't value city living as muchanything else relevant for your remote job?like timezone?or do you have to keep residency in the US?otherwise>Should I leave the US? No kids, no wife, all possessions fit into 4 bags.yes. go.you can work on cars in retirement>Country recommendations?there really isn't much information to work withwhich climate do you want to be in?and you sound like you never did actual DN beforeI suggest you start with an easy location for a few months, like >Chiang Mai>Lisbon>Budapestand see how you like it>>2884165>Four bags is too muchno it's notunless you change locations every few weeks instead of monthsjust pre ship the bagsbut even as checked baggage on flights it's usually only like ~100€/bag extra for an intercontinental flight
>Is US worth living at 37Yes>also a manletYour only release is the rope
>>2884030>Is X worth it?Most retarded question around. Who gives a fuck is something is worth some intangible dopamine squirt, i.e. "it". You live life and stroogle through your stroogles just because that's what Fate decreed for you.>>2884347American single-family sprawl neighborhoods are extremely privileged and sheltered places. Going to Asia you will realize that similar spaces come at a premium. Otherwise, you'll have to live subjected to traffic noise, that neighbor who loves to burn plastic rubbish, noisy apartment neighbors, and all the other random shittiness of the Third World. Today I refused a room because the fuckers had a colony of breeding mosquitoes, and a couple of strong fliers drew my attention as soon as I walked in to inspect the room. LOL nope. >>2886234It's not trivial to extend your stay in Thailand. You need to pay a fee and fill out a long-ass paper application, get photographed, etc. Why not do all that shit in Cambodia and add another country to the list? After six months in South Asia, I'm ready for whatever Cambo throws at me desu
>>2884030>37settle down. This no goal travel shit is for young people. Past 30 it gets a bit embarrassing, at 40 it's completely ridiculous
>>2884037Where did you go/where are you now?
>>2886375How so? You sound like a salty unc who didn't get to do it when you were younger.
>>2886375OP is saying he wants to try life outside of the US. As in a potential permanent move. That's not the same thing as "no goal" travel like backpacking around Europe, staying in hostels and partying every night. If he has the freedom to see/experience other places why shouldn't he. He has a source of income and is healthy. Could try it out for a couple of years and see what happens. The curiosity is there. Might as well satisfy it sooner rather than later.
>>2886375>Just squander your life wageslaving in the US. Taking your earnings, retiring somewhere inexpensive while still relatively young, and reclaiming ownership of your time is 'ridiculous'.God forbid some anonymous rando on an imageboard might think I'm ridiculous at 40.
>>2884030Are these threads lowkey trolling? Its America deal with it bitch don't need constantly to be talked trash about it, you move here, you don't who cares stop being an idiot.
