It's most likely due to the fact he stopped making videos after his son was born, he more or less came in on the expectation of being a Japan influencer/promoter of the country, in the past year he's maybe made 1-2 videos a month if that. All the videos are 75% just his son walking aronud or laughing, 20% is him stating where he is and showing some B roll, 5% is him maybe saying he's not sure what to do in terms of videos.

His last video said no more vlogs, so it's probably safe to assume he is going back to weekly/biweekly content creation about Japan/meme reviews/etc to show he can pull the 125,000 USD or whatever a year to prove his visa and fame is relevant.

No, most likely the need to hire a Japanese employee. He probably doesn't want to say the quiet part out loud, which is that hiring a full-time employee in a country where it's difficult to dismiss employees(to the point where many jap companies just assign no work to employees they want to get rid of in order to encourage them to quit, since firing them is difficult and likely to create a legal dispute)
Raising paid-in capital to 10m+ also creates additional tax and corporate compliance concerns.

the problem with this is that they're doing it the wrong way. the rot is already baked-in. there's enough chinese and jeets who've naturalized that all this will do is create a pocket industry of naturalized/PR'd foreigners who are willing to be on payroll doing nothing(where most locals wouldn't) so they'll just continue to do shitty "buy an airbnb for a visa" schemes while honest people who set up companies in good-faith and intend to follow the rules/laws are pushed out due to refusal to comply with disadvantageous regulations.

they're basically handing the visa to big corps, rich chinese and jeets. the right way to oust them is to prohibit companies that exist solely for the purposes of property holdings and rent-seeking, which smarter countries like singapore, thailand, and australia already have.

his choices would be to hire a bilingual executive assistant full-time or continue operating as-is and bailing when his visa expires. it's a pretty clear choice because there's no real way for him to vet a prospective employee the way there is to vet a law firm or service that provides said type of assistant on contract.
there's also the financial aspect of needing to pay a full-time salary vs. having people on retainer w/ any additional services rendered as-needed.
