Does Seoul have any redeeming features? Have to go there for a thing, and have been there before, but just seems a completely boring, dirty, soulless hellscape of a city. Picrel, it’s one of the “must see” things to do in Seoul (Sewoon Sangga)
It's a one and done city unless you're into the bar culture and niche culture gatherings that happen, which is all behind some Korean version of $popular_app but korea-fyed.Do all the tourist shit, and that's it, then go to bars and have girls want to practice english on you and maybe fuck em. Most want to leave.
>>2884482I’m going with my waifu so can’t even degen and pick up girls. I plan to just eat kbbq every day and go to cafes and read books in my hotel room. It’s amazing to me that I’ve been there 3 times before and literally nothing stands out as memorable to me. Except for the time my friend and I took acid and walked around for a few hours, but all the credit to the acid and none to the city.
I keep searching for things to do, and every single list of "things to do in seoul" is just >go shopping for streetwear>drink soju>kpop stuffIt's wild to me how there can exist a city of 30 million people that has such a dearth of anything worthwhile. Also Korean beer is disgusting. Truly. a race of bugmen.
>>2884477Go to Hongdae, eat random street food, get hammered on cheap Soju and Terra at the bars, go to some Korean restaurants, go to random markets, go to Gyeongbokgung Palace, if you are really bored go up to Seoul tower. If you get a chance to see the DMZ for a day go do a tour for that. Idk, you can make it entertaining if you want to.
>>2884646>everything needs to be a structured scripted event like we're in kindergarten going on a field tripdo dofags really
>>2884654don't get me wrong, I'm all about drinking soju and eating kbbq. But shopping for streetwear and kpop stuff is just turbonormie faggotry. I live in Tokyo and never run out of interesting things to do, but seems like the only things to do in Korea are shop/eat/consume kpop/go to karaoke. yawn. I can do all that stuff at home and it'll be 10x better quality too. >>2884653Hongdae is a trashy stinky dump of a place. I do plan on doing a DMZ day trip though, looking forward to that.
there is plenty of hikinglots of museums, many of them are free. the war museum and national museums are both great, free and worth checking outseveral palaces you can check out, although if you go to them all they do get a bit same-y. there are some further out you can go to which are world heritage sites, suwon hwaseong and namhamsanseongdongdaemun design plaza usually has some kind of art exhibitions on, sometimes they are freeeverland is a decent theme park/ zoo>>2884646i think most of the lists you see more reflect the average kind of tourist going to korea which is into kpop and going there for cosmetics so the lists are a bit shit
>>2884714I have great hiking in Japan and while I’m not opposed to the occasional museum visit, I’m never visiting a place primarily for its museums. All the josunoid answers to my question just come across as major cope.I can’t get over how all Korean food is just variations of red sloppa either. Of all the developed countries, korea really has the least going for it
>>2885030what do dofags even do? in tokyo
>>2885032go to bookstores, music kissa, jazz kissa, smoke indoors, become a regular at a hole-in-the-wall bar that the same guy has been running for 40 years, go to onsen, get massages, flirt with girls, hop off at a random train station and explore the area (each station/neighborhood in tokyo has a lot to do, unlike seoul where it's more of the same at every spot), go to izakayas, hire prozzies, go to an arcade and play tekken or crane games, cigar lounges, cocktail bars, go to libraries and read, explore the beautiful parks and gardens, eat food that isn't just red colored slop, ramen, yakitori, sushi, soba, take a train to the sea for the day, take a train to the mountains and go hiking, ride the train for an hour to end up in another province to grab lunch. I have never once felt bored in Japan.
>>2885032visit shrines, collect goshuin, collect eki stamps, watch sumo, eat chankonabe and watch sumo, drink beer, eat world cuisine (best italian and french food in the world are made in Japan, not italy and france), eat the best pizza in the world, rent a car for a day and drive to the mountains, go to live music venues, underground shows, punk rocker shows, metal shows, hope on a ferry and do a river cruise through the city, go fishingthe list goes on and on. I'm sorry koreafags but every other country in the world mogs you incredibly hard.
The ramen on menus at Korean restaurants is store-bought instant ramen. The key is how the restaurant adds its own unique toppings. If you search "cooking Korean ramen" on YouTube, you'll find plenty of videos showing how to cook with instant ramen.
>>2885058seoul literally has every single one of those things>>2885060this is a sad larp>>2885065the korean food in japan sucks too
>>2885065>the korean food in japan sucks tooyou can't polish a turd
Seoul is the gateway city to South Korea, a country which can only be accessed by airplane. Who cares if it is just another hyper-urban dystopia? There's all kinds of mountains and intricate coastline to explore all across SK. Unfortunately, places of lodging seem to be extremely limited outside the big cities, and also quite expensive. Never a good sign, it means they don't want outsiders hanging around even if they do have lots of money to spend on a room.
>>2885071why is it a larp? I just listed some of the things I have done as a dofag in the last couple of months
>>2885091korea has all of those except stamps and sumo>>2885081japniggers dont season dey food
>>2885094korean food seasoning is just "throw a bunch of red shit and sesame seeds and kimchi in this bowl of slop"
