Returning from a European holiday to Australia feels sickening, especially just as Summer is about to start up there. All I can think about is the feasibility of spending 3~4 months a year up there during Summer and coming back to Australia the remainder of the year. The major problem is work. You'd be hard-pressed to find a company that allows over 2 months away annually in one shot every year. Australian salaries are much healthier than European jobs too, so the work must be based in Australia. There's also the problem of meeting times (probably not an issue if a global job has the same meeting at different hours to accommodate global staff).Residency and taxes are another problem, but I'd figure it out.How do you manage to reside where you want in the world while keeping a big strong Australian salary-tier job which doesn't care about where or when you do your work?

Work remote and move to Asia or Vanuatu
go to bed 4pm, wake up midnight, work 1am to 9am, enjoy the morning/night
>>2884723>be US citizen>have address in ultra low tax income state>"live" at friends house/room>go abroad>file taxes automatically via turbo tax>don't go screaming I work abroad>wake up 830AM normal work time(about 830-1030 in asia depending on cunt)>work till 4-5 ish>go enjoy the day afterwow so hard
>>2885208Asian time zones are flipped from America. 8:30 am in America is 8:30 pm in Asia, or just about. If you work 9-5, you'll have time neither for day activities nor for nightlife
>>2885211yeah wfh is cucked
>>2885211Never had an issue, 4-5AM I prep for the gym work out till about 7AM, grab breakfast and head to some place I want to see around 830-9AM to be there soon as it's open and avoid every tour group. It's pretty nice to have shit to myself without changs flooding out of the buses. Head back to sleep at my place around 2-3PM for some snoozing till about 9-1PAM.If I wanted I could just sleep at 5AM->noonish, then stay awake noon through work. Maybe snooze a bit here and there not an issue since I am project based. It's not hard to enjoy your time abroad unless you're only focused on cooming. Friday night I just have to take it a bit lighter on the alcohol deepening on what my schedule looks like but it's not a game ender.Do anons really not know how to plan?
>>2885223this is cucked. and you talk like an HR roastie instead of learning the local language
>>2885224Why would I care to learn more the local language than I need? You really don't need to know that much and can do shit at the gym with audio books and other BS or just practice basics in your airbnb/hotel during the night and see practical implementation after. Digital nomad'ing has some downsides, but overall is a net positive if you want to see the world. Skill issue.
>>2885227>cucked office wagey life :/>cucked office wagey life, in japan :O
>>2885242Not in Japan, but if you can't enjoy the country you are in with 8 hours of free time post or pre work, lol skill issue.
>>2884723dunno why people find the timezone thing so hardi'm from the uk, live in malaysia i work around asia but a lot of my work is remote, on uk/euro timeson some projects there are times i need to be online at the same time as euro colleagues so i end up working into the nighti like it. i have an office, it's quiet, there's only me here. there's a 24 hour mini supermarket nearby and also 24 hour food delivery is a modern miracle
>>2884723what is wrong with aussieland?you guys have beaches, hot immigrants, coffee, sun, and short cheap flights to seawhat are you running from?
>>2885256>if you cant enjoy the bull fucking your wife instead of you on 44% of the nights lol skill issue
>>2885331Anon you're working abroad so you're going to do it at some part of the day, in Europe I would do wake up 9AM->go out till 3-4PM, work till midnight and have the day to myself.I might as well work in a country where I can enjoy the morning and afternoons or flip to sleeping in and enjoying the evenings out. I have weekends+company holidays and 3 weeks off if I need to do more.Enjoy being stuck in an all or nothing attitude, lemme know how much travel you enjoy when you're retirement age.
>>2885336>98 waking hours in a weak>spend 40 workingcouldn't be me
>>2885338We know, you're driving to and from the office daily in traffic while I get on the train to the beach.
I've done 9pm-5am remote shifts for a month and wanted to kill myself. Graveyards are for when you have no hope for the future, do not recommend
>>2888912>Graveyards are for when you have no hope for the futureYour own future, or just the future in general?I think society is going down the toilet no matter what I do for a living, so if graveyard shifts can somehow suit a misanthrope, I'd like to hear more.
>>2885223>wake up at 4 to "prep for gym" 3 hours later>work out for an hourYea you don't need to "prep for gym" for 3 hours bud
>>2888919Code for getting topped.
>>2885223You are lucky you have gym open at 6am and sigseeing open from 8am, where are you? In Tokyo they open everything at like 11am earliest and lose everything at 11pm, lot of things earlier
>>2888948>You are lucky you have gym open at 6amdude what planet are you from24 hour gyms are commonplace everywhere now
>>2885242lol this is what I always ask about. work, exercise, groceries/cooking, all of that is the same everywhere you go, the only positive is the free time at night, which you're not going to get if you shift your time zone for work
>>2884723no idea but if you manage, keep us updated
>>2885242this, and the second is way worse than the first
Same answer as in all these threadsSaaS sales at a smallish company. At least half of these roles are remote. Yes the first few years suck. Yes you have to grind your way up from XDR to SMB to Mid Market to Enterprise. But a good enterprise rep could take a shit on his boss' desk and the boss would say thank you.Blow your number out consistently and your company will not give a shit if you live in Sydney, Prague, or Timbuktu.
Yeah I don't know what some people in this thread's problem is, working remotely is awesome if your job allows it and you don't have anyone waiting for you back home.Lotta aussies working from thailand given the small tz diff, but regardless, if you want europe it depends on if you'll healthily manage being nocturnal. As long as you have a day-night schedule, even if it's an artificial one, there shouldn't be any problems...Enjoy the world.
>>2884723I worked from Asia on Pacific Time Zone. I would wake up 3 am and finish work at 1 pm. Essentially was a swing shift, and my company was okay with me synchronizing 4-5 hours with the team.
>>2888919Are you retarded? That's prepping for the gym between 4-5AM, so that's stretching, protein+light meal, preworkout (coffee/power/energy drink) then working out till 7AM, so anywhere between 2-3 hours at the gym. Perfectly normal, maybe not needing an hour of perp but assuming it means a flexible ballpark of time rather than exacts.>>2891562Aside from the fact I can spend about 6hours out and about doing whatever each weekday seeing something while having weekends completely open to any local happenings. If "everything is just the same" to you then maybe travel isn't actually interesting? I'm US we get about 14 days company holiday and 3 weeks PTO(use to be 4), my boss doesn't care where I am as long as my work tasks/projects are done when he asks. If I want to take a week or 2 off, guess what I don't have to spend 2-3 days of the requested time off simply to get to Asia or Europe.Being off work and ready to do anything from 6am->1PM before shit gets fucked is so nice. I can basically go hiking before it's too hot out, see museums or attractions as the gates open and before endless jeets/changs fill up the place. If your focus is only drinking and partying with hookers, sure might lose a large amount of it's interest to you. I know people who do the 2PM wake up->day out->work till 5AM->sleep; I just can't get vibe with that anymore maybe I'm just getting old.
>>2895892>That's prepping for the gym between 4-5AM, so that's stretching, protein+light meal, preworkout (coffee/power/energy drink) then working out till 7AM, so anywhere between 2-3 hours at the gym. Perfectly normal, maybeyeah right. you probably spend 2.5 hours on your phone and 30 minutes lifting
>>2895904Anon I was just explaining what was probably meant by that. I do a 5AM preworkout of C4->McDicks meal of breakfast extra eggs/sausage->Gym by 6AM->hour on the treadmill and weights->back home for a shower and protein shake post workout->830AM when things are finally opening go out for the day. That's not unusual at all if you have an AF membership and can access it whenever.
