I only use my iphone to take pics. Sometimes I go back and am sort of surprised by what I capture and it makes me want to get a real camera.
>I only use my iphone to take pics. me tooI think about getting a real camera because it would be nice having a real adjustable lens especially for wide angle shots but it would be much bulkier to carry around and I'm often crawling under trees and around mud and stuff and I wouldn't want to wreck it.
Don’t be a camerafag. Literally nothing gayer than seeing tourists walking around trying to take “artistic” photos with their expensive camera. Enjoy your trip
Dubrovnik. $100 Moto G4 cellphone camera
I used to bring a proper DSLR with me since the times when phone cameras were crap, but for last couple of years my phone cameras produce similar results, so I don't use the DSLR anymore.
>>2885725pixels make such nicer photos than iphones sighmy biggest issue with my phone is you can't take ultra-wide angle shots so you are stuck with the distortion of panoramic mode and the limitations of thatI realize a DSLR is annoying as hell to lug around, but it would be nice being able to get a panorama in one shot
>>2885729I'd say Pixels have equal quality cameras to iphones released around the same time. Iphones do have default presets that make photos somewhat overexposed, probably to look "artsier".I'm also posting the best shots I have.Ultra-wide lenses also make distorted images, especially around the edges, but yeah, It's less hassle to make these compared to a panorama. But my advice in general is to get a phone with a nice camera, it's way easier compared to using a dedicated camera. Personally I'd choose Pixel 10 at the moment.
>>2885751Nah, I have an iphone 17 and my pictures don't look that nice. I realize a lot of it is the digital processing but I'd suspect the sensor is a bit nicer too. I don't get this much definition and color separation from an iphone, though I don't really take urban photos as often to compare. I'm stuck in the Apple walled garden, but I am jealous of the Pixel cameras.
>>2885723Cheap Motorola phones have the best cameras, even if the phone itself is shit. My $65 Oppo phone performs so much better than my $65 Motorola phone, 4x the RAM and 10x the storage and le heckin four cameras, but the picture quality is half as good. I still take some pictures, but they look so shitty. Thank God I didn't buy one of those $65 Samsung phones, they have literal potato cameras.Pic was from a walk on a beach in Terengganu state of Malaysia. The storm overtook me as I was heading back to town, and I ordered a big plate of fried squid at a local restaurant as the thunder cracked and the rain came down in torrents. Such a comfy feeling when you duck into a restaurant for a leisurely meal just as the storm breaks.
Since I finally got caught by food poisoning and have been sitting on the crapper all night, I finally got time to go over the pictures I took in the past few days. Here are a few pictures from Ha Giang

Pretty content with my xperia, just using auto mode makes the pics look decent. But playing around with the settings is kinda hard. Couldn't take a satisfying picture with the full view just what I did at first try.
