Heading to Saratoga Springs this summer to see a concert and want to know what else there is to do. Going for a few days and anything walkable is preferred.
>>2885701ayy my old college town.(I mean *old* I haven't been there in years. Pic related is some mansion on the road leading up to campus, they love their horses there). From what I recall Caroline Street was where the night life is at for drinking, party, etc... plenty of college girls will probably be out and about and all the men at Skidmore were/are faggots (yes, including me) so you'll be doing those women a favor. 15 Church is a decent restaurant in this Wes Anderson looking pink building, I hope the quality is still what it was. Can be pricey though. Hamlet & Ghost was where a friend of mine worked as as a cook back when and I remember it fondly too, had a good atmosphere for cozy autumn nights. If you're going for a concert then you're definitely gonna be at SPAC and the state park. Saratoga battlefield is nearby, it was one of the most important battles of the War of Independence and Benedict Arnold's leg has a monument there lmao. Reenactors in the area are super dedicated to their LARP, it's good fun.The Tang Art Museum at Skidmore is the typical college art exhibition but they occasionally had special exhibits which were far more interesting and of a higher quality than the usual stuff, this unfortunately is unpredictable and varies based on what they got there at the moment of course. It's a gimmick to drink the water from all the water fountains scattered around town, they taste like shit but I guess that's the "natural minerals" that made people in the 1800s rave all about them.I believe it will be race track season in summer, which if you're into gambling on horses is uh exciting I guess. Lots of filthy rich Arabs and other millionaires around town watching their horses compete. To be honest this just makes me realize that I spent most of my time there doing outdoorsy shit in the Adirondacks or getting drunk on campus rather than in town itself. It is a small town in an inland part of the country, can't really do THAT much
