We're screened for dangerous items in a very zealous security process. So why can't little kids see the cockpit like back in the day before 9/11?
>>2886690Because air travel is a mode of transportation not an amusement park for the little shits on board
>>2886691On a long flight, pilots must be bored when up in the air doing barely anything for hours. It would be nice to welcome passengers into the cockpit, like in the old days.
>>2886690Aeroflot Flight 593Admittedly that also involved supremely incompetant pilots
>>2886690You can usually get a peek after a flight is over. You can't do it while airborne because even if the kid isn't a terrorist, the parent might be, or at least might be a nutcase.>>2886696>The cockpit voice recorder revealed the presence of the relief captain's teenaged children in the cockpit at the time of the accident. The kid who caused the crash was the son of one of the pilots. That was all a result of Russian alcoholism and family values, not of a random kid visiting the cockpit. The pilot would have let the kid in with or without such a rule.
>>2886690>very zealous security processIn which airport? Most of the ones I travel through they barely even give a fuck. It's more a formality than anything.>>2886693Have you flown recently? Nobody talks to strangers on airplanes anymore. They all just take naps, stare at the goyscreen, or zone out. Only one time on a flight I was seated next to an American boomer returning to his Filipina wife in Mindanao after completely closing out his life in America, bank accounts and all. Next to him was another guy visiting the Philippines on business. I snuck six shot bottles of vodka into my carry-on, drank them after takeoff, then we three chatted off and on throughout the flight.
>>2886819I haven't talked to any stranger in a long time since I only fly business or first for long haul and get my own private seat.
>>2886690Because they don’t want you to see the indian/female pilot, especially on a Boeing.
>>2886819Nigger why not just 2 hip flasks.
>>2886690You can when the plane is parked at the gate.
I’ve flown on USAF, RAAF and RNZAF aircraft and with the exception of helicopters I’ve always been invited to check out the cockpit. I’m a civilian, never served, just worked for the US govt. The funniest part is there is basically no security flying out of many small US bases and the New Zealanders don’t even bother at all. Yet they will let you sit up front in the C17 jump seat the whole ride as long as you’re good company. I fly both airplanes and helicopters so I can usually keep pretty convo going.

Because Mossad decided to fly planes into buildings 25 years ago.
