So what's the theory anons? I find it a little hard to believe that this nordic just went into the woods and killed himself after an argument with his family. Could there be foul play involved? Maybe some browns who jumped him or some kind of /x/ shit? Why doesn't the police want to disclose the cause of death?
>>
Death -___-
Death, Japan :O
>>
There is no theory to be had
>spoiled 20 yo whitie from Alabama goes to Japan with family
>spergs out over ai burning forests
>leaves hotel middle of the night to go off himself
This case really had very little business becoming global news

Some french bitch disappeared in Nikko in 2018.
It didn't make the news, because she was the old annoying instagram bitch type, and she had no wealthy american family to cry on camera.

Tho she did end up with a wikipedia page, so i guess she had her 15mn of fame still

also, i loled at this

>In January 2023, the investigation was reopened in France by the cold case unit of Nanterre, which announced plans to travel to Nikkō in early 2024.

100% they just wanted a free trip paid by the state

Women in foreign countries always have a higher chance of encountering danger. Guy in op on the other hand just turned off his phone and lobbed himself off a rock after having a sensitive moment
>>
Is that a trans woman?
>>

He got his bussy rearranged and felt shame.
>>
>>2887683
I’m willing to bet a 100 bucks the Jap pigs won’t even bother investigating and will just let the statute of limitations elapse, meaning we’ll likely never get a definitive answer.

>Scandinavian kills himself
Wow no one is surprised
>>
Was it really a suicide? The ChatGPT thing seems like it wasn't the actual the actual reason then, he was clearly unwell before that, shame that the internet has turned into cheering for the deaths of political opponents. RIP
>>
>>2887683
>Why doesn't the police want to disclose the cause of death?
Japanese often misfile death reports, old people who go to kill themselves are just "missing persons" for decades. Same with people who lose their job or GF and write a suicide note, are "missing". It's to keep the numbers down.

>>2887719
>be family on vacation
>son kills himself
>UHH WHY ISN'T THE POLICE BLASTING TO THE WORLD HE FUCKING KILLED HIMSELF?!?!
no clue anon, besides if he's nordic not a big suprise they have some of the highest white suicide rates on the planet
>>
Japan tends to be soft on crime. They have had numerous serial killers who went on for years unmolested. There was even a cannibal who they freed and turned into a celebrity.
>>
Why the fuck did this cause media storm? That's by far the most disturbing part of this whole thing
Is the west simply super stupid racist now? Literally zero american news outlet gave a single fuck when a Jap got killed by a random guy in NYC
>>
>>2887727
Literally anything Japanese pulls crazy numbers on social media, so this story of some random Alabama guy getting sad and offing himself was payday for the news. Japan did spend a lot of resources looking for him too over the course of a few days. Meanwhile if someone goes missing in the state of Alabama, the best they’ll get is a dog sniffing around for a day and some printed fliers
>>
>>2887727
First off media is fake and gay. It's mockingbirded and corporatized slop meant to keep you uninformed. However, it does adhere to a few predictable formulas.
One being: Dog bites man isn't a story. It's a common occurrence, not novel (see: news), not interesting, not worth spending a lot of time on. They can't mold your mind if you don't tune in.
On the flip side: Man bites dog is newsworthy. So when a young white man disappears in Japan (a safe country) it's news. When anyone gets murdered in New York, a brown socialist shit hole, it's not news. Hope that helps. Also you have to go back.

1. No they do not.

The family is clearly well-connected. They even paid a private rescue team to search for their son.

>>2887725
>There was even a cannibal who they freed and turned into a celebrity.
based, we need more representation of the cannibal demographic
>>
>>2887683
I don't think there's any reason to believe he killed himself.
The oldest, most important rule in the book is to always tell someone else when you're going hiking, even if it's just a trail.
The second rule is to not go off trail unless you know what you were doing.
Dude was obviously emotional, didn't tell anyone and probably had no clue where he was going. Kyoto is surrounded by mountains. Even if he thought he knew where he was going, this isn't Europe where trails are clearly marked out and maintained - in Asia it only takes a few months for a trail to be washed out or overgrown and there's no guarantee that anyone will fix it up by the time you get there.

Based on his location data, Weston left the family’s hotel by himself at around 6 p.m. and later boarded a train at Kyoto Station, a five-minute ride away. He can be seen on multiple security cameras leaving Yamashina Station and walking in the neighborhood around 8 p.m., wearing a gray T-shirt with “Save the bees” written across it and brown pants, and carrying a shoulder bag. His last known location was on a path that leads to a hiking trail that goes into the mountainous forest region to the east of Kyoto City.

At 8:29, Weston turned off location-sharing on his phone, something his mother said he has never done before in such situations. Examination of his location data prior to disconnecting also shows that Weston visited a home supplies store at some point after leaving the hotel. By 2 a.m., Weston had not returned to the hotel or contacted his family, so they reported him as missing to the police.

According to his family, Weston is an experienced outdoorsman and international traveler, having solo hiked in Europe, and the family often hikes, mountain bikes, and river rafts together. “It’s not unusual for Weston to blow off steam going to the woods and just exploring,” his mother, Nancy, said. “That’s his happy place.” As such, she remains optimistic that her son has simply gotten lost and can be safely rescued, but a powerful storm that passed through the area earlier this week means conditions were likely more dangerous than usual..

He was a Zoomer fag and his mother was an angry old bitch nothing to see here

I'm honestly surprised that this doesn't happen more often in Japan considering most people treat it like a theme park without any kind of danger or consequence. He might have even thought he'd be perfectly fine navigating a wet and slippery trail in the dark because he'd experience "real nature" in America and Europe.
Honestly I've done similarly stupid walks in Japan and Taiwan when I was old enough to know better, but it's a shame to see someone die so senselessly when they should have known better.
A lot of the time the route will appear super simple and navigable on google maps so you show up completely unprepared. The semi-tropical/tropical climate plus monsoons completely destroy these paths regularly and turns what would be an easy walk into a dangerous one.
>>
>>2887732
Nordics still just off themselves for whatever reason even when they come to the USA. And yeah Japanese police are horrible at "misfiling" things to keep numbers down or not document suicides correctly, specifically for old people and it's caused a huge pension fraud debacle.

~300 people a year are killed by accidents and exposure in that region. It's very dangerous, and as u say people think Japan is anime so they go there in tshirt and flip-flops with shades on back to front then a pacific storm hits and darwins them.
>>
>>2887683
>Search efforts were hampered by a powerful storm that swept through the area following his disappearance
He went in alone at night to a place he hadn't been before with little to no planning and there may have been bad weather. Accident happen.

Things can get bad fast if you make a small mistake in bad conditions. My friend and I were walking in Cappadocia and went off trail for a minute, the ground ended up crumbling underneath both of us and we went skidding down a steep slope. It was hard to crawl back up because the soil was super dry and brittle, and it ended up being no big deal, but many people have died doing shit like that
>>
>>2887991
There's also "murder" hornets, bears, centipedes, snakes, monkeys, rabid tanukis. Who knows what could've happened.
>>2887997
I heard of experienced hikers getting blown off a mountain in Colorado before.

Bears are rampaging through cities now. Tourists don't realize how bad it is and think it's like their own country.
>just shout and the bear will run away bro
>just don't get near the mama bear's cubs and it won't bother you bro
The bears here have no fear of humans and see them as prey. People are being killed in towns by bears. They look small, but they're roided up hungry pitbulls with massive claws. Hiking is increasingly dangerous because bear populations are exploding and there isn't enough food for them. Going into a forest alone with nobody else around is even worse. Going into a forest alone at night is basically begging to be killed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ5Qbq6qthE

Just look at these crazy fuckers.

Though if it was a bear, they probably would've reported it as a bear death. If it wasn't suicide, slipping and falling just the wrong way is more likely. Especially considering the weather. Even locals slip and die all the time. Young people hiking in groups too. The mountains in Japan are shorter than many American and European mountains, but the inclines are more intense. If you misstep or are walking around at night and can't see where you're stepping, you're sliding down 100 feet until you whack your head on a tree. On casual American and European hiking trails, I could walk off a trail any time and just wander around. Even the most casual Japanese hiking paths have steep inclines.

Guy bought rope and things from a hardware store right before turning his phone off and going in. Also Japan SAR is bad compared to the west.

I’m a very seasoned backcountry backpacker in Japan and even I have gotten more nervous about camping lately. I always have bear spray of course.

Yeah I've probably done some stupid shit that one ting wrong could have fucked me since I travel alone. I ALWAYS stay on trail and from what I could see of the area there are very defined trails. But you just never know, weird things happen. This is me doing down Tengu mountain Hokkaido where I got lost but luckily it was ok.
>>2888003
I haven't heard of bear problems in kyoto but it is a big deal in a lot of other places. Getting blown off a mountain sucks, damn.
