/trv/ almost made me miss Singapore but I fucking love it here. I can't imagine not experiencing this place. Fuck you. Fuck you to hell. And to those browsing /trv/ DON'T SKIP SINGAPORE. It's my third month straight travelling in SE Asia and wow... what a fucking mistake it would be to miss it.It's not boring, it's expensive yes, but it's inspiring this whole fucking country is inspiring. If you have questions on what to do let me know and I will help you. I'm sobbing about if I missed this place and now I just want to help others know it's good to come here.
>>2888088>thinly veiled shilling threador you're a genuine cityfag that's never been to an asian megacitythere is literally nothing really unique about Singaporeyeah good food, city looks good at time, some okayish trails, lots of consoooomer stuffbut no culture, no soul, nothingit's really one of the most boring cities in the regionstill worth a 2-3day stopovernot much more
>>2888090Either a legit shill or babbies first trip outside of rural USA
It's fine for 2 maybe 3 weeks you can basically see everything, most the hate it gets is the expensive part that NEETS get mad about. If you don't have money or a profession, barring crypto millionare, women will wonder what's wrong with you. They are very much western standards looking at you and don't care if you work a 45k/yr job remotely and brokefagmax. > I'm sobbing about if I missed this place and now I just want to help others know it's good to come here. It's not that great, I go once a year for 2 weeks for some events+work. The best thing about Singapore for normies is that you can realistically say you've seen everything the country has to offer in 1 simple visit.>>2888090This isn't a shill thread this is some deranged anon who keeps posting how bad singapore is trying to false flag
>>2888090>no culture>no soulFuck you. You just don't think Asians can have a culture. You probably just went to one or two tourist traps then cried "waaaah there's nothing to do!!!!">>2888091I've been to over 50 countries on 6 continents from massive shitholes to rich orderly lands and everything in between. I love Singapore because it's inspiring and really cool to see a national identity and so new find itself so wonderfully. The city is pleasent and has a lot more to do than I expected.>>2888092It's not the best country in the world, i'm crying at the thought of having missed it if I were to have skipped it. It's TOTALLY worth a visit I love it.
>it's just butthurt broke anon who got meme'd into spending a month in SingaporeMan and I thought security guard anon and cult of passion had issues.
>>2888097What are you talking about? Singapore is not that expensive if you're smart about spending. Yeah it's not Thailand obviously but it's not that expensive if you're only spending 4 days or so which is what I recommend
>>2888088If you liked Singapore you're honestly a massive faggot. It's in the same tier as North Korea, Turkmenistan, or Afghanistan in terms of oppression. Enjoy paying $25 for a shit beer from pajeets.
>>2888102>CHINA IS HECKIN' AWESOME!!!!>OMG singapore is tyranny
>>2888102Can't you drink beer at the Chinese hawker stalls in Singapore like you can in Malaysia?
>>2888107The beers cost $25 and if the police catch you standing more than 5 feet away from the stall, or smoking, or vaping, or chewing gum, you’re going to prison. China is way freer than Singapore is
>>2888110>China is way freer than SingaporeFreedom index says otherwise.
>>2888088It's certainly worth going to once, but it is objectively the most boring place in Asia. That being said since Im not a slum monger Id still rather go there than eg Manila/Jakarta
>>2888115How the fuck is it boring? it's a change of pace, not boring.
>>2888117It is the world capital of no-fun-allowed. Sinkies themselves will tell you as much
>>2888120How is it no-fun?
>>2888114Muh heckin freedom index! The same index from the “experts” that says Americans have a higher standard of living than anyone else in the world?
>>2888124What’s fun there?
>>2888130Nope. Every index has Switzerland, Luxembourg, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands at the top
Singapore is a retarded muslim and jeet infested shithole. Dont let the LEDs fool you. Its a city built on indian slavery which is disgusting because I dont want to see fucking indians everywhere. All of these "indian servant" countries are nasty as hell. Also everything is way too expensive and the women are all way too gassed up by nepo baby simps with daddy money.
>>288809245k/yr is brokefag level now? Goddamnit
>>2888088Appalachia >>>> Singapore
Fascism le works.

>>2888151The average Singapore office worker makes like 60k/USD a year anon, they basically have an infinite money glitch due to shipping registration handling
>>2888088It's basically Chinese Dubai. Shopping malls and a dictatorship, plus maybe a few nice attractions if you like highly artificial environments.I enjoyed Jurong Bird Park when I was there. That said, some of the bird are kept in pretty shitty conditions (two bald eagles in a cage the size of my bedroom, for example -- can't do more than flap a couple of times and maybe drift from their perch to the floor).
>>2888138LOL. When I went to Singapore, I had to switch hotels twice, the first one because it turned out to be full of noisy assholes bringing in hookers to fuck, and the second because of construction noise right outside my window the whole fucking day.So my third hotel, there was some very sad looking Indian troon in a skirt standing outside the entryway, and he would always sadly try to chat me up with "hello, daaaahhhling" every time I went in or out of the hotel. On the one hand I was disgusted, on the other hand I pitied the poor ex-dude.Fun fact: in Singapore, male-on-male sex is illegal, BUT if one of them has been castrated then it suddenly becomes legal. I found this out because the Singapore newspaper I picked up had a story about a troon who was being prosecuted for male-on-male prostitution, but got his balls cut off at some point during the process, and the newspaper made a point of how the court released him because since he no longer had his balls that meant they could no longer prosecute him for male-on-male prostitution.
>>2888212>Fun fact: in Singapore, male-on-male sex is illegal, dude that law was repealed a few years ago, and there hadn't been any prosecutions for many years before that (except for pedos)do try to keep up there at the backwhy are you so obsessed with other people's private lives anyway>>2888110>The beers cost $25 and if the police catch you standing more than 5 feet away from the stall, or smoking, or vaping, or chewing gum, you’re going to prisonlol what a load of hysterical nonsense anon>China is way freer than Singapore islol you're mental if you actually believe that
>>2888215>criticizes law about other people's private lives>lel why are you so obsessed with other people's private lives anywaysad shill post
>>2888212transgenderism is a reflection of how homophobic society it, nothing moreit's a way to pressure homosexuals into castration and assimilation into gender roles
>>2888088Singapore is bloody excellent for those who think about government policies and infrastructure investment. The MRT is seriously top tier. Even the buses are a complete pleasure to ride in. I rarely took taxis in Singapore because there was no need. Please go visit the URA city gallery. Its quite interesting if you like to look at city planning. The HDB Hub in Toa Payoh is also worth a visit because its whetr you can see all the Public Housing they're building. Even east coast park is worth visiting - when i visited there were loads of old men enjoying themselves paddle boarding or surfing. Its a very nice vibe.
>>2888271Soon there will be a metro going into Johor Bahru, so you can contrast the development that is being done up in Johor with how things are in Singapore. The train system is ridiculous, there is a huge tax on trips to Malaysia and it only runs once every two hours or some absurdity like that.
Can one of the Singapore "is fun" or "filters poors" posters please specify what unique expensive fun it has please? Because from my vantage point it has neither the rich person playground gimmick stuff of Dubai, nor a serious world class restaurant scene like NY or London or others. So other than being a hyper sterile place where the Chinese food is inferior to HK/China/TW, Western food is Melbourne larp + some OK but not unique stuff, WHAT exactly is supposed to be blowing my socks off here?
And yes OF COURSE China is freer than Singapore *as a foreign visitor* it's not even close. Didnt Singapore jail some Brit for not masking during covid? That would have been unfathomable in China. Not to mention daily shit like drinking/smoking wherever you want, driving moped on the sidewalk (here is where Sinkie defenders will shift the goalposts from practical freedom to cleanliness/order)
>>2888288There's this great restaurant called TGI Fridays. You can't miss it and you can't get it anywhere else. Singapore also has parks (other cities don't). Plus we have a zoo, which is very rare in cities.
>>2888288Singapore is where you live. You have fun elsewhere then come back to Singapore where the transport, infrastructure, government, safety, stability is top tier. You're obviously not going to have the levels of debauchery seen in Thailand, but if you have kids, family, etc then Singapore is very good indeed. You have to see Singapore as an experiment in cutting edge public policies and as a hyper safe compound.Theres enough fun to be had in Singapore. Its just not going to be super debauched. For eg, you can do night mangrove kayaking and marvel at how well Singapore has preserved its marine environment.
>>2888296>Singapore is where you live. You have fun elsewhere then come back to Singapore where the transport, infrastructure, government, safety, stability is top tier.Totally reasonable position, though the discussion here is clearly about tourism.>You're obviously not going to have the levels of debauchery seen in Thailand, but if you have kids, family, etc then Singapore is very good indeedI'm not saying its boring because there's no Nana Plaza, to be clear>You have to see Singapore as an experiment in cutting edge public policiesMaybe once upon a time
>>2888296>come back to Singapore where the transport, infrastructure, government, safety, stability is top tier.China is the same shit for 1/5 the price
>>2888302Yes the Sinkies think its still 2007. The place got a bit of a boost from Hong Kong going downhill but otherwise it's a has been with questionable future
>>2888288it's just beautiful. simple as. they have a mandate about covering their entire city in plants including sky scrappers. and the food is really good.
>>2888382>It's beautifulI don't disagree it has some very aesthetic parts (though also some very meh parts). But that doesn't really counter the complaint about it being boring or support the claim that it 'filters poors' which is what I'm trying to understand.>food is really goodFood is C tier for Asia
>>2888288>unique expensive fun it has please? dude it's a city on a tiny island what "unique" stuff are you expecting? most places in the world are not "unique">nor a serious world class restaurant scene like NY or London or others.both new york and london have populations millions more than singaporeif you really need to be part of an expensive "scene" singapore has about 40 michelin starred restaurants, the most in asia outside japan or hong kong>>2888290>That would have been unfathomable in China. china jailed a journalist just for reporting on covid>Not to mention daily shit like drinking/smoking wherever you want, driving moped on the sidewalk (here is where Sinkie defenders will shift the goalposts from practical freedom to cleanliness/order)you appear to be an actual retard anon
>>2888396If it's not unique then why not go somewhere with a better price:performance ratio. If your sales pitch is "boring sterile safe nanny state" you can go to several countries nearby for a fraction of the price to get that
>>2888396>dude lmao its a small place with nothing unique or interesting what were you expecting!?Uh thanks for agreeing with me?>china jailed a journalist just for reporting on covidA foreign journalist? I don't recall that happening (99% sure it didn't happen to a *foreign* journalist) but if it did it still has no bearing on the relative freedom of you as a foreign tourist, which is what's relevant to the discussion.
>>2888291>Plus we have a zoo, which is very rare in cities.are you being serious, lmao?
