Heading to Vegas with two friends, all mid-20s, and staying for 9 days. Looking for advice from people who know the city well. We want to have a great trip, meet people our age, party a few nights, and see some of the more interesting parts of Vegas without getting destroyed financially.

Most of the information online feels like it’s coming from influencers, promoters, or people trying to sell something. I’m curious where people actually go when they want to have fun without spending hundreds of dollars every night on drinks, cover charges, rides, and other fees. Are club promoters worth dealing with or is it mostly marketing? Are there areas, bars, or neighborhoods that offer a better experience and value than the typical tourist spots?

I’d also like to know the common mistakes first-time visitors make that end up costing them a lot more money than necessary. The goal is to avoid realizing halfway through the trip that we could have had a better experience for a fraction of the cost. Any advice on how to make the most of Vegas while keeping spending reasonable would be appreciated

You can realize that now. Go to a different country instead, pussy

QRD: The Strip's actual real estate was sold to Private Equity during COVID. Now the Casinos are beholden to these vultures, and can no longer do comps and freebies like they used to.
If you go to a Casino, just know that they are being forced to nickel and dime on everything now.
That said, table games with friends can be fun. I personally prefer horse races, but to each their own.

Do you know where you're staying? The core costs of any trip are always going to be lodging and food. past that everything is optional. (or can be controlled to a higher degree).

Focus #1 should be finding a hotel for a reasonable price (all costs included--parking+resort fee etc.), and some restaurants in the area you know you can get a decent meal for a decent price consistently.

You won't get "goofed on" if you just keep control of your money, are aware of what you're doing and don't make terrible decisions when drunk.

If you're staying for 9 days, get a rental car and get out of the city. Hit up the Hoover Dam or even Death Valley.
The Pawn Stars shop is a decent place to buy a souvenir.
If you're thinking about going to Hells Kitchen, just go to Gordon Ramsey Steak instead. It has all the same food.
Dispensaries are cash-only, but they have ATMs.
The only decent strip club is Treasures, but don't expect much.

Im with them. Vegas has become pretty disgusting with how much they try to trick people for cash.

You could spend 2 weeks in a foreign country like Japan for $10k or less. There's also Vietnam, Thailand, a lot of Africa if you get your shots before going, etc.

Just tell us what you'd want to see with your friends and I'm sure someone could suggest the perfect country. Trust us. Vegas is already fucking everyone financially. There's a reason some of the casinos have 0 foot traffic. Hell, there's better gambling cities if that's all you want with your mates. Aruba is the Caribbean equivalent of Las Vegas if you want to gamble in the tropics.

My dispensary (medical, east coast) takes debit cards/apple pay normally without any atm fuckery and I love it.
A dispensary that won't take cards is a red flag tbqh. I went to one and it was set up so like when you ran your card it charged it as if you were paying the owner's onlyfans or patreon or something, that's fine too.

That said, cash on vacation is always a good idea.

9 days is way way too long to stay in Vegas. And because it's summer, you won't be able to hike or do anything outdoors. Get yourself a rental car and drive to southern California for 5 days. Stay in Orange County or San Diego near the beach.

Alternatively, if the weather is nice, drive to Utah and do Zion, Bryce Canyon and Escalante. Might be too hot for that too though. You could also do Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. The south rim is high up and has better weather than you would expect in the summer. Another option would be to do Yosemite National Park. You have to be 25 to rent a car and you usually have to have a credit card.

I enjoy Vegas. But everything people are saying about the price gouging is 100 percent true. If I were planning a summer trip right now, I'd be looking at 300 other places first before I'd do Vegas.

This has to be the retard from the other thread who put $100 into a penny slot machine with a $25 max jackpot.
