So what if instead of treating Singapore as a destination to go to alone you use it as a respite.

For instance, maybe I go Pakistan-India-Bangladesh-Nepal for 4 months and I'm tired and now I'm going to do SE Asia. The solution? Use Singapore as a middle place to have some western convenience, eat without worrying about food poisoning risk for a few days, etc THEN continue to SE Asia

You could even just using Singapore as a part-way point in a SE Asia trip.

How does that not solve the issue of "Waaaah Singapore is not unique enough!!!!!" so many fucking pussies are crying about on here?

I'd use Malaysia for all that, not Singapore.
>>
>>2888449
Malaysia is not as good with food quality. Singapore you can relax and eat anywhere. Also KLP is super boring and other Malaysian cities aren't even close to Singapore level of amenities
>>
>>2888450
>muh FOOOOOOOOOOOD
>>
>>2888453
I'm not a foodie. I literally mean eating a shitty hamburger is safe in Singapore, in Malaysia it's a crap shoot. Eventually it gets tiring knowing every meal is diarrhea roulette. It's part of why I had a nervous breakdown in Guinea because I was so sick of maybe getting sick in Africa after 4 months
>>
>>2888457
you never get sick if you go to high volume places. if the place is empty and no ones in line dont eat there
>>
>>2888442
The only people crying are the Singapore defenders going you just dont get it! its fun! you got filtered for being broke! and then when asked what they think is fun about it they say Cutting edge public policy! lmfao
>>
>>2888458
That's not always possible in Malaysia, let alone Pakistan or Guinea

BTW I got my worst food poisoning from a high volume place in Vietnam
>>
>>2888461
9 months india + china + malaysia
never got sick from food
skill issue on your part
my worst food poisoning ever was a hooter's in usa. in first world countries it's the same third worlders making your food anyway
>>
>>2888465
I only got food poisoning once in my life in Vietnam. But I am always nervous I will get it and be stuck in bed a couple days. In DRC and Guinea and Burkina Faso I turned down bush meat for it. But I've had literal raw blood and oregons of more normal animals

I rode a sleeper bus across India for 12 hours while needing to shit, plus feeling pukey and feverish as well. Eventually I couldn't take it any longer - the driver refused to take any bathroom breaks between 1:30 AM and arrival at 6:30 AM. I had to jump off the bus early, before reaching Indore.
Passing the public toilet which was only a urinal, unsuitable for all but the most explosive diarrhea, I saw a designated shitting street under a railway overbridge, nice wild shrubbery to make some diarrhea into. People passed by on the overbridge, but nobody came by on the surface road while I emptied my bowels in relative modesty, my luggage standing in the paved road in front of me.
>>2888461
One time I was handed a bottle of water, and it was unfiltered water full of floating particles. After drinking it I got sulfur burps and took a probiotic to avoid any looming imbalance. No sickness resulted.
>>2888465
I got really sick in Malaysia, but it was because of eating a huge sack of deep-fried jackfruit. The fruit was so fibrous and lumpy that it clogged up my gut for nine days before finally passing.
>>
>>2888442
There's 2 places in Singapore

1 The Airport you posted
2 That hotel with a ship on the roof

The whole country is a two hours visit.

Sounds like your neuroticism is off the charts. Why are you stressing so much about something that clearly is pretty fucking unlikely?

Malaysia just sucks in general
All the Muslims, zero traffic laws, rubbish fucking everywhere, I'd routinely see people standing literally next to a bin throw garbage on the ground
they're basically the worst seamonkeys to live around
>>2888492
Singapore is a great place to live for a bit
Shit to visit
If you're going elsewhere in the region it's because you're broke

Or maybe it's because it's shit?

The best part about Singapore is that cool jungle airport waterfall thing they have. Literally I don't care if I see anything else in that country.
>>
>>2888564
These things disappointed me so much. The initial concept art showed vines extending all the way up to the top and them being completely green. Unfortunately, they weren't smart enough to realize vines won't grow under something like that due to being unable to support their own weight and having less direct sunlight. It's kind of weird just how sparse the vines are and it gives them the appearance of just being cheap pink and neon green plastic, which is exactly what they are.

It's a county fair attraction in most of the world. Sinkies think people need to travel across the planet and spend 3 weeks staring at them. And if you say it's boring, they'll say you're just racist against Asians with money and you're too poor to appreciate their chinky little carnival attractions.
>>
>>2888588
You meant Indonesia? Malaysia's traffic is very orderly and sensible, but then again, since I came from India, every country seems to have such remarkably sedate and orderly traffic flow, because heedless drivers aren't constantly disrupting the passage of others.

Indonesian maids rape underage boys and have sex with them in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

delete this "(delete)" to get the correct url since 4chan blocks justpaste urls.

or just click on the archive at https://archive.is/XcknI

It's just a list of news articles where Indonesian maids were caught molesting underage boys and other incidents involving Indonesian maids.

There's nothing inappropriate fyi.

Kek exactly, it reminds me of the food court at Terra Botanica in France

The whole Terra Botanica park is just considered a local theme park by France btw, not an attraction worthy of international publicity.
Not a top 3 attraction of the country, maybe not even a top 100.

I also see these "canopy" style structures in public and corporate places.
Sure it looks cool, and the one in Singapore is huge, and maybe they were the first ones to build them, but paying 2K plane tickets and an entry fee to see them, fuck no.

>>
>>2888769
Exactly. Singapore is a fantastic place to live if you're not poor. Theres no political instability and everything you'd expect from the first world you have, and more. Putting aside rent, you can live well on S$1000 a month or you can do the whole billionaire lifestyle thing. If you want to go to the beach, its a 30 min taxi ride. If you want to go shopping, the best shopping is in reach in around 30 mins. There is unparalleled safety and amenities at your disposal. As a foreigner you will be left alone.

I have pondered this for a long time and there really is very few places on earth who can match this. Eg KL? To get to the beach is a fucking nightmare and you have to brave awful KL traffic, you're going to be burgled at least once.

Bangkok - no beach. OK Shopping. Shanghai? You will not be left alone as a foreigner. You don't know when policy will change and ur little consultancy business will suddenly become illegal. Pattaya - questionable amenities.

And for the "ship" hotel, i'm not spending a penny on this shit, it's owned by Myriam Adelson.
The whole shit is yucky.

So what does Singapore have left? The Airport really.

I sometimes feel like I am outgrowing/trv/ because it often feels like trying to explain things to NEETS. Its like they're on a different level and there's no communicating the realities of the world to them. Sinkies are the worst source of information about Singapore ironically because the govt has done such a good job. They don't know any better because they have not seen what poor government really looks like.
>>
>>2888784
it's unironically peak Earth, not being a citizen only makes it better
as a tourist city why even bother other than a stopover, you can see everything in maybe a day or two
>>
>>2888784
Hong Kong is Singapore but with a soul.
Plenty beaches in HK if that's your thing apparently, and actual relevant place with direct flights to everywhere.

You should kick out more states from your country dickhead
>>
>>2888792
I'm in KL right now and it sucks here too. KL SG Manila are all the same. Soulless beach islands full of third world chinkjeets. Only difference is in Singapore you're paying extra for the government to control you more. No thanks.
>>
>>2888784
People don't want to live in a bug box and go shopping or to an artificial beach on a permanent loop their whole life. Some people want to have a small house an hour outside of town with nothing but silence and trees around. Some people want to be able to drive down a quiet highway for hours and just think. Some people want to go 20 minutes out of town and spend all day hiking up a mountain. Some people want to head down to the river and go fishing. Some people want to have winter and see the beauty of a nice late night snowstorm.

These are things no Singaporean will ever experience within their borders. They have to hop into another country like little parasites to have these basic human experiences. Then they'll talk down to others and say "yes, well, we can buy GUCCI and PRADA. Bet you never heard of those, huh? It's called SHOPPING and you're POOR and your country doesn't have it". It's a little bug mindset and it's adorable that sinkies think they're people. They're little bugs on the underbelly of human society, and all it takes is Malaysia cutting off water for a few days or the west deciding not to export our luxury goods for a month and your malls will be barren and your society will collapse.
>>
>>2888784
Yes! Singapore is the best if you're not poor. For example with a net worth of $30 million I can
>Get the equivalent of a USA upper-middle class house, except with no land
>Buy a VW Passat for $250k
>Fuck it pay 3-5x global price for real sports car, whoops insta raped if I ever exceed 55mph

Truly there is no greater playground for the wealthy...
>>
>>2888442
been there, done that, no reason to ever go back
