Why did no one tell me Albania looked like this until after I had already went there?
Somehow you can do the same challenge of finding trash within several clicks in Albania, as you can in India
You will never think this is true unless you look at stats or actually visit, but Albania is more polluted than India. https://www.numbeo.com/pollution/rankings_by_country.jsp

>>2888539>>2888538These are the two richest cities in Albania, besides Tirana which is the capital; pic related.
Durres is the second richest city in all of the country. I'm trying to raise awareness so you don't waste your money like I did, only to end up going to a country that's worse than India.
Capital city.
Also capital city
Tirana, the capital
Lake that can't be cleaned up despite millions of EU funds because people keep throwing shit in it.
It's actually so bad of an issue that their trash reaches our beaches in Dalmatia, and causes issues in top tourist destinations. I didn't even know this, and I've lived in Istria my whole life. We then have to clean up their trash, even though the EU sends them money for this to not happen.
>>2888550Croatia, meanwhile, is cleaner than the UK, US and Japan
> I was in the south last weekend, at a beach area that isn’t popular with tourists but is well-known among locals. The place was covered in rubbish, and I couldn’t just stand there and ignore it—so I cleaned it up. I gathered three large black bags full of trash.>After I finished, a family arrived and started leaving rubbish behind again. https://www.reddit.com/r/albania/comments/1kjtyn4/rubbish_everywhere/

Any good /k/ommando places in Albania?I hear there’s bunkers all over and a cool submarine base
>>2888565it's not worth it, bunkers are all the same and you'll get bored after seeing just one, and if you want to see submarine bases you can go to croatia for really good yugoslav era submarine bases like pic related
Albania is a gypsy shithole, so its India adjacent in behavior including how they dispose of garbage.
>>2888538Are you a naive zoomer? Everyone has always said that Albania is a cheap Third World tier country, so yeah of course it's going to look like a village when you are in the village. The gentrification of Albania is a very recent phenomenon, and the locals have begun to push back against it. Good for them. Keep Albania cheap and trashy.
>>2888538Looks just like Mexico.
>>2888587The point of interest is merely incidental to the landscape. You go for the journey. Rural peoples always want to hear a purpose for visiting their land. They treat you much more kindly when you specify a nearby place that you want to go and see.
>>2888565Just go to Croatia. Albania is notorious for gangs, it's dirty and has worse tourist infrastructure. The only reason to go would be to look at a Hoxha bunker. In Croatia I think 70% of the population speak English as a second language, it's safe, clean and people are friendly.
>>2888538There's a reason Greeks hate albanians
>>2888557Why can't people just dispose of their shit properly. fucking hell. whole Earth is going to be ruined by this shit
>>2888933Is Croatia still somewhat affordable? I’d hate for it to become Italy-lite?
>>2888538>>2888539It unironically looks like my family's hometown in rural Mexico. Minus the beaners and cartels.
looks like serbia, they are brothers after all
>>2889019Dumping trash in one place does not make the problem go away, it merely relocates it. "Recycling" everything to Bangladesh does not make the problem go away, it merely relocates it.The only solution is to not generate anything disposable. Eat from a plate at a restaurant. Drink from a glass bottle. Refuse the plastic bag.
>>2888538I’ve never seen anything that bad, but it’s definitely not as clean as Greece or Croatia. Private hotel beaches are cleaned, but people don’t care much for public beaches and they tend to leave bottles and such around. I hope they change this habit. >>2889041Nigga whatCroatia is more expensive than both Italy and Greece nowadays. Has been ever since they introduced the euro. I would go there in the summer since late 90’s but eventually things have gotten so expensive that I just had to look to alternatives. Albania is pretty nice, but it’s also getting more and more expensive by the season.
Albania was cool when it was Europe’s dirty little third world secret existing in a bizarre parallel reality with meager tourism numbers. Now it’s a meme destination flooded with tourism and every charm about it has been bulldozed.
albanians wont like this but their country is cool so long you stay in the greek northern epirus side
>>2889278Too little too late brother
All of southern europe looks like that
>>2888550Rubbish mafias do this. They collect money to pick up a load of trash, then dump it someplace they don't like.
>>2889278The earth has millions of miles of barren desert. Throwing it in a hole somewhere does in fact solve the problem. And is way different than throwing it in your rivers and capital city parks.
>>2888538isn't it well known that it's a shithole?
>>2890104kek this
>>2888538>gypsies (medieval indian dispora) + islam>place is a shitholego figure
>>2895062All balkan countries are like this. You dont need islam for that.
>>2896236i found Montenegro not that bad, ofc there are places with garbage but not as abd as Albanian shithole
