Is Croatia worth visiting?I was there twice and apart from looking nice on pictures, it was boring. Maybe I was at the wrong places.
>>2888751no, go to montenegro instead, more nature
Why did you find it boring? I am headed there for the first time in a few days. Planning on spending most of the time island hoping.
>>2888766i'm a big foodie, which is a code word for obese, and these guys offer nothing of worth
>>2888768Interesting - is the seafood underwhelming or is that not to your taste?
>>2888751If you were there twice and didn't like it then yeah I suppose.I went to Split for 4 days, I enjoyed it as did my Girlfriend. I could probably have done a slower 5 or 6 day trip but I don't like to go on holiday and sit around. I had a friend who did the same and enjoyed it.I'm planning to go back to see Titos yacht at some point and maybe some more sites from the war since Split didn't really have any (except picrel).>>2888768Nothing of worth as in you think it's all bad or nothing of worth as in you don't think they have any?
Any war related stuff?
>>2888757It's an underrated country.Except for the capital, that city is bizarrely shit, I've been to every other capital city in the Balkans and enjoyed them all.Anyway Kotor and Budva are fun as fuck. If you're going to Croatia for Dubrovnik then Kotor is way better imo
>>2889047nta but our capital (in terms of entertainment and education) is belgrade, very few stay to study in podgorica. it only became a capital recently, so there's nothing to see there or do, it's just the administrative capital. before that, our capitals were kotor and cetinje
>>2889071That actually explains a lot manI spent two days in Podgorica and wanted to get out so bad, there's just nothing there worth doing/seeing
>>2889078>>2889071Apart from that seriously one of my favourite countries in the Balkans, some really amazing /out/ stuff to do compared to the rest of Europe
>>2889079>>2889078thank you, that means a lot <3 we're rarely talked about on here. i wouldn't mind meeting up if you ever visit again
>>2889090would you do gay stuff together?
Depends really. I spent 2 weeks in Rovijn with the express purpose of doing nothing, getting drunk and taking a daily swim at 2pm. It was wonderful for that. It's a good place to fuck off and relax by the coast for a little. There are better places to party, eat, fuck and sightsee. But if you're looking to just sit by the coast and relax is pretty mint. Fuck Zagreb tho.
>>2889093yes of course. do you like girl dick?
>>2888757are there good hiking trails?
>>2888751It looks like the kind of place that is full of hot women, but they all treat you like shit (especially the ones womanning a service counter in a business)
>>2888751too many tourists on the coast, islands are where it's at. food is too expensive and nothing special really. zagreb is a nice place to live in, but boring as a tourist destination
>>2889286maybe you should stop being black
>>2888751for me? not really, but i have a 130 IQ
>>2888751or maybe you're clueless
>>2888766>Why did you find it boring?NTA but I only went to Croatia once & only had time to visit Zagreb and the Plitvice Lakestldr; Zagreb is so fucking boring. I saw all the interesting sites in under 3 hrs and wanted to leave so bad asap. The food was great tho (an anon here recommended a restaurant & it was great) & the locals were friendlier than the other Balkan countries.Plitvice Lakes was meh. It was flooding so I didn't really get up close to the falls. I had a stopover at Slunj which I thought was kino. Rivers moving lazily around houses - it felt like a fairytale movie.
>>2888751I have been to Croatia a few times. From what I can tell the country can be roughly divided into two regions which are very different from each other, the coastal areas and the inland areas. The Dalmatian coast is genuinely gorgeous, I've visited Zadar, Šibenik and Split and they're all great. The only problem is that it's been intensely touristified, so it's full of resorts, it's crowded, it's expensive, etc. I agree with other anons that Montenegro can offer similar levels of natural beauty with a fraction of the prices and the crowds. I have never been to Istria or Dubrovnik, so I don't know how it is there, but from what I've heard Dubrovnik especially is heavily touristified (especially since Game of Thrones was filmed there).Inland Croatia is a different story. Very few tourists. Zagreb is probably not the most exciting European capital you'll ever visit, but it does have its interesting sights, even though a lot were damaged by the 2020 earthquake (last time I visited the Cathedral and other monuments hadn't reopened yet). There are also several historical sights related to WW2 and the cold war, like Jasenovac, which are interesting if you're into that kind of stuff. I have not been to Slavonia or Srijem so I don't know how it is there. So I think there are two different Croatias, both worth visiting for different reasons. I would probably not go there just for the sake of visiting Croatia though - every time I visited was as part of a larger Balkan road trip.
>>2895059One thing I will recommend in Croatia though is visiting the Gorski Kotar area (picrel), which is actually really gorgeous and almost untouched by foreign tourists. We passed through there and it was quite beautiful, lots of tiny villages in idyllic alpine scenery with lakes and mountains. We stayed for a little while in a town called Tršće, one of several such small villages in the region, and I have to say it was quite enjoyable.
>>2888751No, there's literally nothing there anymore, it's just a generic resort country for the rich now, if you get to a nice hotel complex owned by Arabs you never have to get out of it. And the poor get endless sweaty masses of people and Chinese souvenirs and minced meat patties and Patagonian squids. That's literally the entire experience. Zero culture, nothing to offer to anyone who wants any actual Europe. Go to Poland or Czechia or Hungary if you're not obsessed with sea, and if you are just go to either France or Italy if you are rich or to some shitty SEA third world if you're poor.
>>2889286>(especially the ones womanning a service counter in a business)Those are all Thai now.
>>2895697akshually croatian they're from nepal
>>2895716No, that's the delivery drivers and "physical workers" (who just stand there and do nothing). There are no women from Nepal, just men. Women = SEA.
