Russia is a multicultural and multiethnic nation of all race and takes tons of immigrants. Russia is more akin to Brazil or the USA than Europe. So when you see an Islamic ethnic Uzbek or a Chechen praying at a mosque in Moscow, you should be aware those are Russian people.

I had a blast in Moscow, 1 of my all time favorite trips. It was awfully long ago though. Before Putin and his retarded war. Russian people are arrogant and none of them speak English. That's just something to remember.
