I want to post about my travels on social media, but I don't want to use facebook or instagram or twitter, cuz I don't like how the sites are run - is there a meaningful alternative? Tiktok you can only post videos I want to just post photos and text too.
>>2893693for what? you can create your own blog. if you dont care about people seeing you can keep it on your pc
>>2893694I want to interact with other people though. for business and pleasureI want to exchange destinations and lore with others and hopefully turn that into a consulting business eventually.
>>2893696whats wrong with the walled garden? you can go there and be among all of the other hucksters and shopkeepers shilling product and trying to make shekels. why not youtube? you can post photos and text also
>>2893696>I want to post photos of stuff I did>NO NOT WHERE OTHERS ARE!>I want to exchange destinations and lore with others and hopefully turn that into a consulting business eventually.Unironically Insta/Facebook would be the best.
>>2893696Go to a travel forum nerd
>>2893700photos and text on youtube what? I want to avoid google, facebook or twitter products if possible. >>2893701I hate how they are run and who owns them and I don't want anything to do with those people. >>2893702like what?
>>2893707Tough luck anon. If you wanna post where the people are you're gonna have to deal with big corpos because they own all the most popular stuff.
>>2893708surely there must be an alternative without rapacious privacy practices and controlling ownership
>>2893707>photos and text on youtube what?they have community posts>I hate how they are run and who owns them and I don't want anything to do with those people. Here is the best but you will never get famous and never make money
>>2893710>they have community postswhy do I feel like nobody looks at that>Here is the best but you will never get famous and never make moneyI don't want to be famous but money would be nice, just a little
Use Instagram anyway. Nowadays it's similar to 4chan. Instagram is my #2 source for anime news, video game news, travel content, racism, and schizoposting.
>>2893718It just feels so evil and I hate how difficult it is to use without logging in. Just like they steal all your data and could delete all your content without warning and you would be helpless.
>>2893716>why do I feel like nobody looks at thati dont have an account so idk. maybe its because you dont look at it
Post here. 4chan is infiltrated by normalfags anyways
>>2893693what about 4chan
>>2893696>I want to shit up social media sites with advertising spam>But I don't want to use social media because its full of people like mekys
>>2893696>>2893693Reddit is this way, faggot>I want to interact with other people though. for business and pleasureYou can meet up with u/Smiling-Bear-84 for vigorous buttsex on top of Table Rock Mountain. He's always down for vigorous buttsex in travel-worthy destinations.------->
>>2893693Flikr.
>>2893693xiaohongshu, weibo, etc. there are many options
>>2894017Does anyone use that?
Is a valid question. I stopped using Facebook years ago because hundreds of foreign spammers were targeting my personal page. Refusing to be a travel shill is as hard as being one, a lot of my photos were stolen and used without my consent, often implying real people i knew endorsed services they've never used or companies they'd never even heard of.
>>2893693Why not post them as reviews on Google Map?It will help other travelers as well
>>2894319google maps is horrendously laid out like trying to look at other peoples' pictures is torture it just doesn't let you display them clearly OR see exactly WHERE the picture was taken, at least on flickr and alltrails at least sometimes you can geolocate a picture and figure out exactly where to walk to get that picture for yourselfgoogle is also owned by evil autistic jews, I mean I just accept google maps as a necessary evil because they are a monopoly and have the maps but what I really want is to be able to interact with locals and outsiders and eventually start a consulting business where I put together loose itineraries for people in exchange for money but I also just want to talk with people about destinations and experiences, outside of money concerns>>2894278that's a good thing to consider I kinda hate watermarks but that would suck to just have my pictures reused
>>2894320> eventually start a consulting business where I put together loose itineraries for people in exchange for money but I also just want to talk with people about destinations and experiences, outside of money concernsYou can't manufacture experiences. It's forced soul
we can create a simple imageboard type wiki based website where anyone can post about these... you can turn it into business later but don't become a busy-man who turns into the very things we disliked in the first place (twitter, facebooks, what have we)
>>2893693Hahahaha I was just at Ash Cave over the July 4th weekend. Was very cool. The rocks, not the air that shit was hot and humid.
>>2893696two things are true1. Instagram is the devil2. Everyone uses itIf you want to meet people have to go where they are.
>>2895555i don't use it. just talk irl phaggot
>>2895553I specifically went there the week before cuz it was less hot - and the waterfall was flowing too (unlike the last time I'd been).
>>2893693No
>>2894052many great photographers do, yes. But it's mainly just praise in the comments.
>>2893693Ok, do it here
>>2893696>hopefully turn that into a consulting business eventually.Yes Saar, pls redeem bisanes gud deal much money and wyman show bob vagene. Please get hit by a train.
>>2895789nobody here gives a shit about the places I go, not sure what you are looking for but it's not what I do
>>2896505>Not sure what>It's not
>>2893693I think the way to go is to make a semi-anonymized profile that only your friends know about. Avoids the random relatives and people you don't know well, but couldn't decline their friend request, from jumping into the comments on every post. But honestly, just make a blog. It's current year and anyone can grab a domain and bang out a little website so you can write and post pictures. Some randos will find it, but also you can just link it in your socials.
>>2897231What about facebook? There's lots of super knowledgable local boomers on there and I want to tap them for info but almost everyone uses their real full name on facebook and I don't wanna I guess you could use a fake name but it would be weird if you met them and you weren't that person I just am not sure what to do. I sorta used social media in 2005-2006 and gave up. >But honestly, just make a blog. It's current year and anyone can grab a domain and bang out a little website so you can write and post pictures.I just get so exhausted traveling and timing is so tight getting to bed early it would be hard to write and organize a blog and travel I guess the appeal of Instagram is short form blogging.
>>2897231OP wants a community, but without any of the huge amount of effort it takes to build one from scratch. Even if you went that route you still need to bootstrap it from normieslop sites. Word of mouth will get you a bit of the way but only once there's enough people to justify it.
