Redpill me on greyhound buses in the year of 2026

Did it once. PHX to LA. You will regret it. They have terrible infrastructure and convoluted transfers. They're not even that much cheaper than flying most of the time. Remember this before you book: they ONLY exist because of the no-fly list and the thousands of crackheads who couldn't make it through airport security. Do you really want to be in an enclosed bus for hours in the middle of nowhere with those people? For the love of god, just fly bro.

But planes exist and every city in America has an airport?

Not *every* city. And some cities have "airports" that are either for private planes only or have commercial flights using twin engine prop planes once or twice a week at best.
>>
>>2894203
Did it in the early 2000's, CA to AL. Family was out in the sticks and the nearest real airport was a 3 hour drive away they couldn't reliably make. So yeah, cross-country in a bus. Wasn't that bad I actually thought it a rather pleasant experience. Dropped me off a half hour out of their town and actually did cost about 1/4 of what it would have cost to buy a ticket to Montgomery and charter a flight to the airport in their town or rent a car for the month I was going to be down there.

>convoluted transfers
lol what?
>get to city y
>get on bus x
>go to city z
>repeat as many times as you need
What's convoluted about it? That it happened?

Although I will say I just did a search on available routes and I remember the trip taking all of one day and most of the next with me getting off at around 10 the night of the 2nd day, but today that same trip is about:
>60 hours
Yeah fuck that. Still cheap af though.
>>
>>2894202
I'm
>>2894371
And realized I didn't answer your question.

And while I do think >>2894203 is being a little bitch drama queen that'd probably think a car without Bluetooth a form of torture. I can't honestly recommend it if you have other options. In the case I gave it was a reasonable compromise that had the silver lining of letting me see parts of the country I'd never see otherwise (I remember going through Texas and never thinking anywhere could have actually been that flat). If you're sociable it can also be a fun way to get to know cool folk. But if you're going across the US?? Nah. If you have other options take them. At 60 hours from the South to the West with 5 hour stops in a station in a city you have no one in?? Yeah, it *is* cheap but it's also an enormous hassle.

Ironically the only thing I would consider it for in 2026 is same state trips or adjacent state trips like the other anon whined about. So you can use any money you save to rent a car or get a slightly better hotel room. They have frequent rest stops to stretch your legs. Even though their chairs are way better than airline chairs. the bathroom they had onboard was, not the best. Like a Campground latrine and airplane toilet rolled into one. Idk if the bus provides wifi itself through a satellite link nowadays or if it can get 5g signal all the way but back when I rode I just had a big CD case full of music and the entire LOTR BBC audiobook in it. Which i guess might be another plus, potential unending ability to doomscroll . But even then, 60 hours? Hard pass.
>>
overhated. Sure it's full of ninjas but I've never had any issues, just bring earplugs and sleep
>>
>>2894378
Agreed, but some of the longer trips are getting crazy, they seem to have actually expanded their stops. Maybe they did that without expanding their fleet or even reducing it?? Idk I just know it didn't take me 2.5 days last time.
>>
>>2894371
>convoluted transfers
For every greyhound route with 6 transfers and hours of waiting around in bumfuck nowhere, there's a direct flight for a quarter the time and same price. Just saying.
>>
>>2894400
>and same price
except no
>>
>>2894405
You clearly don't value your time.
>>
>>2894413
>it costs the same anon!!
>it demonstrably doesn't
>U DON'T VALUE YOUR TIME!

You didn't claim they took the same time you claimed they cost the same, they don't. Greyhound is much cheaper, can you just deal with being wrong?

I'm not wrong though. Enjoy your methadone bus, poorfag. Find me a 2 way ticket between any major cities that is cheap enough compared to a flight to offset wasting all that time. I make about 55 an hour. Good luck.
>>
>>2894432
being able to bring my weed and water aboard transit without being hassled by niggers who want to cage me is priceless
>>
>>2894433
I accept your concession.

Don't remind meee... of that tragedy
>>
>>2894432
>I'm not wrong though.
You are objectively demonstrably wrong.

>Find me a 2 way ticket between any major cities that is cheap enough compared to a flight

Pretty much any of them

You also moved the goalpost, now it's "major cities" Why did you do that anon? Why are you moving the goalposts? Did you realize your initial claim was W-R-O-N-G??????

>to offset wasting all that time.
LOL More goal post relocation.

why are you so mad about greyhounds being cheaper than airlines? lol i don't get it

All that redditnigger babble and you still couldn't answer his question

>They're not even that much cheaper than flying most of the time.
They're kind of expensive. I don't know about the relative price compared to airline tickets since I don't take them for ridiculously long-distance travel, but:
> they ONLY exist because of the no-fly list and the thousands of crackheads who couldn't make it through airport security.
that's not quite true. They also have routes that go through places where there is no nearby major airport. I used to fly in to Nashville and take a Greyhound for five hours to get to my aunt's place. If I wanted to fly direct to there, I'd have had to charter something and maybe parachute in.

how do you know it's a giant nigger dick when you're only hearing the action?
