I have rental property in Southern Michigan on the Great Lakes. I dunno if it's bullshit or not but on social media it seems like Europeans are enjoying their stay here in the USA. This spot in Michigan has access to water sports, Ice Hockey, as well as the electric music festival (DEMF) every summer in Detroit. It's privately owned too so no corporate rip offs.

I have been to the US a couple of times for work and have generally enjoyed my stay there. I would like traveling in the US as a tourist, especially areas historically interesting areas like New England or the Deep South. The major problem is that it's hideously expensive compared to other destination which can offer much more for much less money (and time, and hassle). I also don't enjoy driving and intercity public transport in the US is third world tier with first world prices from what I can gather. Also what >>2894270 said is substantially true, although I would have expressed the same concepts in a more amiable way. So I don't think I'll be going to the US as a tourist any time soon. If I have to take an intercontinental flight for tourism I'd much rather go to China or Asia in general. Hell, I'd rather go to South America probably.

Not European but Australian, would love to go to the Rockys and a bunch of the National parks in the Western states. Outside of New Orleans, the cities don't appeal to me, but the landscapes in the Western United states seem pretty kino

what about appalachia?
>>
>>2894448
I'll be honest, I just don't really know too much about that area. Would be cool but most likely I wouldn't have a huge amount of time so have to choose a region to stay first time around and check it out as like Aus, the US is huge and a big road trip wouldn't really be viable
>>
>>2894450
fly into charlotte, see the smokies then head on up to breaks interstate park, birch knob, 12 o clock overlook at kingdom come (all the same ridgeline effectively)

pine mountain is a really good intro to america but you will need a rental car
>>
>>2894452
Thanks for these, they're going in the suggestion folder.

I also have to wait til I get another passport as I have been to Iran 7 years ago
>>
>>2894453
You should contact your embassy about that. There may be a way around it if you can get an official visa override or whatever. Or just get a new passport, it's worth it. Smokies have the longest views (50-70 mi maybe) but there's tons o other eastern mountains that, while less tall, have great views but pine mountain is unique because it's an overthrust fault - a ridge on top of a plateau - so you get great views but you are gonna want to rent an SUV esp. for birch knob, VA, the road is in crappy shape but the walk is easy and the views are extensive.

Here in Michigan I highly recommend visiting the north. The sand dunes on the Great lakes are pretty nuts considering they were formed from the ice age and are basically 1/5th of the planets fresh water.

I'd love to check it out, but cities aren't really my vibe, upstate NY is more my speed. If I'm in the region I'd spend a couple days just walking round Manhattan though

nyc is silly its just crowded and big
>>
>>2894502
Just doing the tourist stuff in New York City and walking around Manhattan is a good way to spend a few days. Seeing a Mets game and getting Chinese food in Flushing is also something I'd recommend. Upstate NY is actually surprisingly pretty. The white wines are also better than you expect, if that's your thing.

I want to start in Washington State and make my way to the Yucatan Peninsula, is it worth going through New Mexico/Texas or should I just go through California?
>>
Hell no lol. Too expensive and I had plenty enough through my TV screen and internet.
I’d much rather go to Asia living true exotism, eating plenty foe cheap and getting my dick weat.
>>
I already did 6 times but wouldn't go to the states for another vacay atm unless it's for very specific /out/ trips. Price/value is just catastrophic atm and I'm not paying Zurich prices for the Bengaluru experience
>>
>>2894264
I don't care much. I wouldn't mind a visit to the US but it's way, way down on the priority list.
The only thing on offer really is the nature and it's hardly a surprise there's a lot to see in that department considering the country is the size of fucking Europe. But if I want picturesque hikes I can just travel across a continent that is nowhere near as horrendously expensive. Historically speaking, it's a joke. I pass by buildings hundreds of years older than the American colonies on the daily.
That and I'm already oversaturated with American garbage. I feel like I half-live there by the sheer amount of exposure to their media and this very site. There is zero mystique left. So there's no cultural interest either.

You can easily look this up. Tourist arrivals to America are way down and will continue to remain down until 2029. You might guess why.
>>
i have spent a fair amount of time working in the usa
america is beautiful, no question about it. it is one of the few countries in the world where you can experience practically every kind of climate known to man
unfortunately americans are awful, and are currently doing their best to fuck up the natural wonders that have been gifted to them. the weird thing is that some of them seem to be happy about it and actually revel in the prospect of turning it into a wasteland
the national parks are the best thing about america. might as well enjoy them while you can, because if the drill baby drill crowd get their way, they'll be gone within a generation
>>
>>2894555
this shit is why it's useless to try to have a reasonable conversation with an american

Fuck no

I wouldn't feel safe because of your corrupt regime, they can arrest you at the border for a meme.

I've been to the US 10 years ago, the nature was cool, i've seen what i had to see (Grand Canyon, Sequoia forest) but the services were unfriendly.
No way i'm paying 15% tips for some bitch with an attitude.

Maybe if things change, i might come back in 20 years.

yes dude there is a bit of a peak at the moment because the usa is currently hosting the world's most popular sporting event
however overall the numbers are down compared to pre 2020 (covid) levels and are falling in general
try watching something other than fox news eh
>>
>>2894620
Even without that specific story, the US is a banana republic now, you don't respect treaties, if anything happens to you as a foreign tourist in the US, you're fucked.

And as this guy said >>2894562 the price value is just shit. You pay premium prices for chains like Best Western that are decaying, the restaurants are shit with an entitled attitude in the pricing and tips, hidden fees everywhere. It's a very hostile and unsympapethic country overall.

People in flyover states might be friendlier idk. If i ever go back, i'd like to go to the Amish country or maybe visit places of the Civil War. But i will never go back in this climate.

No other first-world country calls foreigners gay with the regularity of Americans. I am pretty sure you all have castration anxiety from having your foreskins chopped off by Shlomo as babies. Seriously, it's not normal to chuck out "you're gay, you're gay, you're a pussy (i.e. dickless), you're gay" the way you burgers do. The anxiety runs really deep.

I don't see how someone from Europe would travel all the way, pay 2K a head just in plane tickets, to go in a cabin on lake Michigan, no offense.
Picrel is just a regular waterfront in France, not even the good spots like Cote d'Azur. Spain and Italy have the same on all their waterfronts.

Maybe its because of how passionately you faggots wave rainbow flags around while also being prissy and frail as an entire nation?

Monaco is one of the most expensive destinations on the planet, anywhere the Catalan language is native. I'm Italian myself and visiting Italy is pricey as well. I've met plenty of Europeans who have visited the electronic music festival in Detroit and a couple of them have hung out with us on the beach.

People in the Midwest are basically the nicest people you'll meet. If you rent a town you can drive in any direction to find shit to do and you can easily strike up a conversation with anyone and very likely have your drinks/meals paid for by the natives. Or you can just sit back and relax on the beach, or catch a party boat with the locals.

You can see an opera at the Opera House or an orchestra at the Fischer Theater. Take a look at the architecture when Detroit was the richest city in America, visit some of the legendary punk venues, as well as an EDM show since Techno was invented in Detroit. You can catch every major sports team since The Pistons, Red Wings, Lions, and Tigers are all original since the pro league's inception, you can gamble sure, visit the Institute of Art. etc. All without it costing a shit load like NYC and without the uptight losers spending $5k on rent in some shit hole apartment.

My dad took me to a lions game when I was little maybe 5-6 and it was an old stadium that doesn't exist now I think and it had these terrifying catwalks you had to walk on to get places and I remember being very scared
I don't like sports or opera anyways and big mainstream art museums are too restrictive and annoying

Michigan is simply the best State in the union. People from Michigan are too nice to tell you fuck off we're full, and they're too powerful as individuals to allow the influx of retards to deracinate them. Your IQ literally goes up 5 points just by being here, and you develop proper manners and the best English accent on the planet by mere proximity to people from Michigan. We also have the top 1% Polish and Finnish populations in the world here but don't screenshot this post because they don't want to be found (except for the Pollocks doing Polish fairs every year). Must be something in all this mother fucking fresh water we control. Or maybe it's in this delicious pacszki I'm about to wolf down (permanent +2 str buff). By 2050, Michigan will have annexed Wisconsina and Ontario to form Greater Michigan. The Quebecois-Marquette hyperwar will be written about in the coming vedas. Pillars of light blotting out the sun etc. don't fuck with us, but if you do make sure you mow your lawn first and it's probably fine
