My company has an office in Austin, any austintards here gimme reasons not to move there? I can stay where I am (Ireland) but I work fully remote most of the time, and I'm bored and want to make a shift somewhere new. Never been to america, have other options but thought I'd consider this one before ruling it out. I also don't have to go to austin, could be anywhere in the states if anyone has any genuine good recs
>>2894892In terms of the U.S.:Easy-mode would probably Boston, Mass for a Celt.Maine will have more snow, but be pretty as well.If you have a high comfort level for crime then NYC has a fair amount of Irish neighborhoods like Woodlawn Heights.Austin is going to be pretty hot. You may want to visit at least before committing to a move there. If you want cowboy lifestyle but cooler weather, Butte, Montana has the most Irish people per capita. It really depends on what kind of activities you had in mind to recommend a place.

Go and if you don’t like it just return, what’s so hard about that ?Many people would give everything for such an opportunity cause it’s near impossible to emigrate to the USA nowadays .If you don’t like it at least you made some money along the way and can say you saw America .In regards to Austin ,as a euro I actually liked it a lot , but I’m also into the murrica cowboy vibe . People actually wear cowboy hats and boots there and everybody drives a pick up truck.People are nice , there’s a lot of space , everything is big. I went in summer , it wasn’t as hot honestly, I think euro heatwaves that we get nowadays are worse .
