Cool travel general.

I wish south America looked like this. What's a cooler part of South America I can visit for a pleasant holiday?

Land in Santiago Chile and stay there for 2 nights to get a feel of the city. There isn't much in Santiago to be honest, and you'll see everything in that time. Maybe go on a vineyard tour, I had a pleasant time getting shitfaced at one and I'm not a winefag or drinker.

After that, take a domestic flight to Osorno Chile. Rent a car there and visit Pucon, Villarica, Puerto Varas, and Osorno Volcano. Visit Chiloe too if you have time (need at least 3-4 days in Chiloe though).

I did this trip a few months ago and there was practically zero tourists anywhere despite the breathtaking views. It's a good mix of local urban culture and primitive nature experiences. If you go to Patagonia proper, yeah the views will be better but you won't really experience the local culture or interact with locals.

Chile is the most expensive south american country though, so keep that in mind.

All of Patagonia is freezing during the winter which encompasses the south of Argentina and Chile, you have plenty of provinces and cities to visit there and several sky centers.
I recomen the lakes region of Argentina, Bariloche, Villa la Angostura, San Martin de los Andes, El Bolsón.
And you can't go wrong with Puerto Varas in Chile.

Sounds comfy, I don't have a driving license through, and I had no idea Chile was the most expensive country. Jesus, good thing you let me know, I'll stay away

Argentina seems bland to me, I hear most of them are just Italians. I'm looking for something a bit more authentic and wild. I like the idea of places like Ecuador when they have real prehistoric homosapiens still walking around, I may come across a weird language that isn't even Spanish. That would make me trip, I'd be feeling giddy for hours

Erm this is /trv/ where do you think we are?

Anyone ever been to Mongolia or Northeast China in winter? Seems like they make the rest of the world look pathetic by comparison.
