Looking for a 7-10 day escape. I've been grinding hard for a couple years now (35) to pay off a chunk my mortgage. I've fallen into a pretty bad mental state recently and I need a reset.

My closest city is Perth, Australia so what options do I have for a relatively cheap 'wellness' reset/detox? I was thinking Bali as they seem to offer some wellness retreats and I would like to be physically removed from the drinking/partying side of Bali.

But the whole idea of a wellness retreat seems pretty scammy. The pseudo spiritually really friends my gears but from experience things like ice baths/breathing exercises really do have benefits.

Bali general I guess too?

North of the island has the more chill hippy laid back shit and foreigners.
Trust me as an Aussie if you stay around the bogan areas it gets fucking depressing real quick being around those gronks, you won't have a good time. We ain't sending our best, thats for sure.
Otherwise I'd suggest some Thai islands like Koh Samui or even Japan. Its a few hours more in flight time for both but much better destinations.

last time we went to bali we stayed at a place called fivelements
it's kind of a "retreat" place but not weird about it. it's popular with the eat pray love type of crowd
it's still pretty close to ubud so you can go eating/drinking etc if you feel like it
beautiful place, not cheap though
