>>2896230People say Marseille is bad?Why?
When I was in Nice some of the locals basically said they'd rather rope than live in Marseille, so I dunno
>>2896230First-time tourists get disappointed when they go to Paris and they discovered the city is not what they expected. I had a blast in Paris due to my previous shock I had been in Marsaille.Saying that, try their navettes and, if you go with a partner or have a friend, try their bouillabaisse
Invasion status: FallenIt is full of African migrants.
Marseille is the definition of the 21 year old directionless young adult, not french, not algerian not yugoslavic, track suit wearing, street loitering, savate boxing, weed smoking school dropout with the only career perspective being a deliveroo or taxi driver that dreams about becoming the next hiphop(insert any street art/sport) superstar and invests all his energy into it. He got a long as the bible crime record full of stupid pity crimes (weed dealing, tuned scooter, shoplifting, pickpocketing, breaking into cars, vandalism, bike theft, DUIs you name it) and it's the usual suspect that will face a judge at age 23-25 and get told "it's the army or prison" to end that shitshow.Around it urban culture like parcours, breakdancing, all kind of street martial arts, graffiti, BMX, skateboarding, MCing/DJing, street sports like 3on3 Basket and urban footy thrives and are just second nature, what else would you do all day? If it doesn't cost much money and can be done in a urban environment Marseille will come up with it.Else it's the port extension of Paris with a pretty good town center and not much more. It's a bit grim and shady like any port city in europe. There's a that bit more pity crime because of it and violent crime is a thing but that doesn't affect tourists as it's kept 99% in the Banlieus. Treat it like Chicago and you're fine.
>>2896230best city in algeria
>>2896264
>>2896309pussy ass bitch
>>2896299Ok, but what large city in France isn't???
>>2896369it really is just paris and marsielles and marsielles has ferries between tunisia and algeria daily>>2896283i posted about it in the last france threadhonestly not much to see past old town, palais longchamp, and the train station. the city center is worst about it. i personally wouldnt go back. nice was much nicer. was there for a 8 hour layover for my cruise ship. naples was a lot cooler/more things to do to the point that it genuinely deserves the sovl label and i would gladly return. and musee del moto was awesome but its in the super dumpy suburbs that genuinely resemble an american ghetto in baltimore or south philly (they also only speak french but they were very gracious hosts)
>>2896373anyways i'll repost some film shots this was from november 2025 i have a bunch of pics from my dslr i didnt edit
>>2896374
>>2896375old town also smelled like piss
>>2896376maybe aix en provence is a lot nicer as a tourist desu but at the time it was like 2 hours by public transit to go from the port to aix
>>2896377also lots of hobos/vagrants walking towards palais longchamps, pretty nasty ones too (brown and retarded). gf was chudding out hard
>>2896378"its like planet of the apes you can tell a higher civilization lived here before at one point""i feel bad for the locals""this place is a fucking shithole"i guess you would appreciate it too if you're a nafri or at least speak arabic; lots of tunisian/algerian restaurants/bakeries and cafes to the point that finding anything else is genuinely difficult unless you want some "halal" fried chicken/burger places like you see in the USA.
>>2896299Most of those are North Africans who are basically white
Marseille is not as dangerous as its reputation suggests, but it is a gritty, chaotic port city. While it struggles with gang-related violence, these issues are strictly confined to the impoverished northern suburbs, which tourists rarely visit. The central and coastal areas are vibrant and generally safe with standard precautions.
>>2896306>>2896408is this slop really necessary here?
>>2896230yesmy brother biked from germany to marseille. He said it was the worst he has ever seen. Full of africans and nafris. He said that when he arrived he saw nafris breaking car front glass and other wild shit. Its a huge shithole. you might be safe in a upperclass hotel
>>2896408I saw an arab looking dude pull a gun on another arab looking dude in the middle of the day in a nice looking area near Notre Dame de la Garde. Tbf idgaf if they kill each other, and I never felt personally threatened even at night. It's a beautiful city, and the calanques are great, definitely worth visiting but it has too many migrants for sure. I wonder what it was like half a century ago
