Vs a hotel. Worth it overall or is it a headache?-How much cheaper- 20%?-Are they typically shit rooms next to loud dorms so you’ll hear partying all night?-I’m 35 solo traveling, though fit 12% bf, not bald/creepy, above average, look younger. Would it be weird to be in a hostel even in a private room? I’d be open to banging younger girls in the hostel if the signals are clear, but not going to inject myself autistically in their social scene
>>2896521I’m white traveling in Europe btw
It really depends on the hostel, they are all over the place. If you want to sleep well, then obviously don't pick a party hostel. As for the price vs a hotel room, that's again all over the place. The best bet is to find a hostel that's not a party hostel but still has a downstairs bar and common room, and then get a private room there if it's not hotel room priced. Then you can get the good parts of both, socializing with travellers in the bar and common room, and still have the bed and room to yourself (and a possible pickup if you're lucky).
>>2896521>I’m 35 solo traveling, though fit 12% bf, not bald/creepy, above average, look younger.i have news for you anonif you're 35 and find it necessary to justify yourself by posting all these details about yourself on a travel board, you're creepyif you're 35 and can't afford a proper fucking hotel room, you're weird
>>2896521I've literally been in hostels where old ass grandmas and boomers were staying in dorms with 20 year olds. No one is gonna give a shit or think you're weird unless you act weird
>>2896521In portugal last year there were two ladies in my room in their 50s or 60s. Weird, yeah, but ultimately who cares>>2896525Agreed
>>2896525>>2896529If you don’t know the difference between a fat bald autistic ugly 35 yo and a non autistic who is fit - you might be the fat 30+ retard. Who says I can’t afford a hotel? My last euro trip last year was all hotels and I’m considering a hostel room now if it’s a good way to maximize the social aspect. Price is a secondary factor
>>2896521get a private room. Loads of hostels have them. That way you have somewhere to take anyone and not be bothered. You also get the """Hanging out in the common room experience""""" without being stuck close to some enormous Eastern Euro manbear with a undiagnosed sleep apnes. Bring ear plugs if you are worried about noise.
>>2896521When I was in Vietnam I saw a dude in his 70’s chilling in the hostel. Idk if it was someone’s grandpa but was kind of funny. Also I saw dude with greying hair hook up with a girl in her early twenties in Europe. He wasn’t a dick to me and was generally pleasant to be around so I don’t really consider it creepy.
>>2896533chill old people in hotels are fun. Them and their random stories are far better then having to the listen to Travel Penis measuring that passes for conversation with most.
>>>/r9k/ is leaking again huh.
>>2896536Met two chill dudes in the Baltics, met both in Riga, one was a Kiwi doing a motorcycle tour through the region who told me about the acid he did in the 70s and then ran into the other again in Talinn a few days later, straight up and down yank grandpa and we stayed up drinking til 3 in the morning
>>2896531>If you don’t know the difference between a fat bald autistic ugly 35 yo and a non autistic who is fit - you might be the fat 30+ retard.yeah i might bebut at least i'm not 35 and still desperately protesting that i'm not bald or autistic. on fucking 4chan.
>>2896524A private room in hostels costs more than a hotel these daysJust go talk to people it's really not hard I find it incredibly pathetic how people need to be in a hostel to justify talking to strangers
>>2896531>35 yo who is fitWhy does that even matter? Do you think people look at you and think that you are not creepy because you think you are "fit"? It's even creepier that you have to describe yourself in that way.If you are going to stay in a hostel, just do it and find out. Nobody really gives a shit how old you are or your body fat percentage.
>>2896531>it’s a good way to maximize the social aspectHere's the truth, the reason people find 30+ in hostels weird, is because by that age, you're not supposed to be trying to socialize. You're expected to have a wife and kids by that point to travel with, not trying to hook up with college girls.
>>2896626Here's the truth, no one gives a fuck about you or your schizophrenic hallucinations about what people "expect" about you. You're invisible. You're nothing.
>>2896626Expected by who?
>>2896521>Would it be weird to be in a hostel even in a private room?I don't see why it would be
>>2896521I did it once in Switzerland because it was the only option left in the area I was going. It was full of Brits shouting all hours of the day and night and being drunk. Piss sprayed everywhere in the bathrooms. Liquor bottles shoved into the toilets and beer glasses in the urinals. Before checking in, the owner said she hated customers who just wanted to sleep at night and not partake in the fun. I cannot say I enjoyed it.
>>2896521Depends on the hostel, but no it's not weird, i had 30+ people in the room before and no one gave a fuck because you don't even spend a lot of time in the room.
>>2896645I won't go higher than 6 people in a dorm anymore, 30+ is a disaster, you need 1 snorer and it's ogre
Do zoomers even socialize in hostels? It seems like hostels are nothing more than cheap beds now with everyone just glued to their phones in their corners
>>2896656Most people just bring their own friends these days. Rarely see any solo travelers linking up
>>2896656you can if you want. people are pleasantly surprised if you do. but most don't
>>2896656I don't see how hostel culture wouldn't be affected by the massive social changes there have been in the last 10 years? girls went to hostels to hookup and have fun, now they can (and do) get that going on tinder or dming guys on instagram. most socializing happens because of the possibility of dating/sex, so if you remove that then there's just little incentive for people to socialize.
>>2896730Can anyone else confirm firsthand the hostel social scene is dead? Similar to how bars and clubs are dead I suppose
>>2896521Hostels are fucking gay. You go in expecting open minded fellow travellers and friendship and you meet people who literally act like they don't see you. There are people holed up in bed all day, just scrolling.Get a private room. Every hostel I've ever been in bar one has been a depressing shit fest.
>>2896761This is what I’m afraid of honestly then getting stuck in a shitty non noise proof room to save $10 a night Have you noticed it’s gotten worse recently than in years past?
>>2896525>nooo you can’t travel if you are poor AND 35!
>>2896730>girls went to hostels to hookup and have fun, because they had nothing else to do>now they can (and do) get that going on tinder or dming guys on instagram. only like 5% of girls use tinder. no one cares about jeets in dms. people just prefer doomscrolling to real human interaction>>2896759I've just been in asia the past year where it never really was alive, but definitely dead here. went to a hostel a couple of times in 4 different countriee
>>2896791>only like 5% of girls use tinder.most relationships (greater than 50%) are formed online, whether tinder or insta or whatever else people are using these days. I'm not arguing this point with anecdotes, it's just data. and on instagram, of course girls ignore most dms, but girls also send out dms to high status guys (whatever that means to them). there's no debate here, it's just data and it's been discussed 100x on this forum.
>>2896803you are interpreting it how you want to interpret it. it's 50/50 online/offline even though the ratio of approaches is 99/1 online/offline. and then cucks conclude offline doesnt work despite it being less than 1% of the approaches it yielding 50% of the relationships
>>28968071. it's more than 50% 2. it has nothing to do with approaches. I never wrote anything about approaches. it's the formation of relationships3. if were talking about hookups, do you really think hookups happen less frequently online than in real life? fucking lol if you think real life. if more than 50% of relationships form online, then way more than 50% of hookups start online. 4. if your theory is real life relationships would form at a greater rate if men approached more, then you have the burden to prove that. men's behavior is reactionary to women's, men go to where the women are, if they aren't getting results they stop going, which is why bars/club have gone way downhill since 2020.
>>2896626>You're expected to have a wife and kids by that point to travel with, not trying to hook up with college girls.Fucked you gf bro, so sorry about your societal expectations you dumb cunt.
>>2896810>13/50>akshwually it's 13/49! take that raycissts!ok pseud
>>2896531this post really takes it to a whole new level of creepyalso bad news buddy no normal person would ever describe themselves as>a non autistic who is fitthat sentence alone gives me full confidence that you are 100% autistic
>>2896812H-hey! I didn't expect you to do that!
>>2896826Its was an accident I slipped and she was stuck in a cupboard
>>2896521There are many in-between properties as well, where the room you rent is like a bedroom in an apartment.>le hostel sex clubIt's mostly fantasy that hostel girls are more DTF than girls on the street just because they walk to the shower in their underclothes. In fact the opposite is more likely true. Anyway, switch to a room once you get a travel gf.
>>2896761Sadly, this has also been true in my experience. Staff try sooo hard at every good hostel to increase social activity for solo travelers, but 9 times out of 10 it's a losing battle. Everyone bedrots for hours and then shambles around like a bleary eyed zombie before disappearing one morning...nobody cares that they're gone.
>>2896954>>2896955>>2896761That’s crazy to hear but maybe not given the changing times. The only thing hostels give for an advantage is logistics and social environment, but now the social environment is shit now apparently from brain rotted autists There’s also the factor of girls being afraid of slut stigma if everyone knows she’s hooking up with someone there. Casual sex culture is way down - the social messaging is girls need to serve as quasi escorts and demand high effort “princess treatment “ is the phrasing everyone on apps. Celibacy trends and this idea that sex is some semi sacred thing is advocated tooSounds wholesome right? No, because the only thing that’s happening is you have liberal feminist women pretending to be “trad”, claiming all the benefits of “traditional dating” (men pay for my shit) while being a tatted whore/ex whore ready to settle down as she still dresses like a slut with 10k simp orbiters and girls nights/trips. The best of both worlds for women, the worst of both for men - enabled by simps. Ofc there will still be the case of girls putting out easily for Chad way out of her league, her getting over a break up, etc various different scenarios. But generally speaking, the bottom 80% of men are not getting easy casual sex, or any sex at all unless they mega simp for a basic bitch
>>2897068Geomaxing turns the tables especially if you’re white and decent. Asians and Latinas (who cares about Africans and Indians) will put out exponentially more easily at far greater levels of quality girls. Western European women may still be sex positive feminists who put out easily sometimes. Eastern euro women are gold diggers. American women are trash all around and vary by race and region.Non whire third men will need to simp a lifetime for a girl who put out for 5/10 Brad after a coffee. Brad could get a local 9/10 with enough time and knew a bit of the local language
>>2896521If you got to ask you're hopelessly autistic and weird sorry bro. And no you won't magically fuck freshly 18 year old girls after a lifetime of inceldom lmao. Quit that idea completely.
>>2897317I look like this and usually bang a girl in every country I’ve been in 25+ on 4 continents. I haven’t been in a hostel post covid so I asked. I’ll skip it because it sucks now Stay fat and seethe
>>2896525Pretty much what this guy said. >>2896531Delusional as fuck.
>>2897358Sounds like a larp since you need to justify yourself on an incel basket weaving forum.>>2896656Yes a lot and I'm not even that young. I swear its annoying because I can't stay away from people inviting me out and talking to me. Met a few girls this way too.Youre either staying in really bad hostels or veru asocial/weird if you're experiencing this. Sorry bruh.
>>2897388>you’re a larping incel and your thread is discredited >No>noooooooo you can’t do that, just shut up and let our fat fingers type incel at you so we don’t feel bad about ourselves
>>2896628The more functioning societies in the world. You know, the normies, the ones pushing the world along because there is no alternative besides destruction.
Random Indians on the street are so much friendlier to a white guy than the IT grad jeets who stay in Indian hostels. They only want to talk IT and business, nothing else. Two noteworthy hostel friends I met (in Malaysia and Los Angeles) were from Sri Lanka. They see meeting people and breaking ice as the whole point of travel. But neither were IT snobs with 1 lakh laptops.
>>2897358Still posting that photo from some /fit/ thread huh?I'm 36, stay in hostel private rooms, never have issues. Then again I gym regularly, have a full head of hair no weird hairline BS, low BF on my face anyways, and a slew of hobbies so it's a non issue. I like them because I get a kitchen that isn't BS, good place to work, and often closer to public transportation than some alternatives. As long as you aren't trying to hit on someone barely legal as a +30 year old you're fine.
>>2897409Why would you want to talk to any of them
>>2896645>you don't even spend a lot of time in the room.This. whenever i'm on a travel, all i do at the accommodation is taking shower and piss and poop and sleep. >>2896615>Just go talk to people it's really not hardNTA but that's not my concern. My anxieties about using hostel are>>2896644>full of Brits shouting all hours of the day and night and being drunk. Piss sprayed everywhere in the bathrooms. Liquor bottles shoved into the toilets and beer glasses in the urinals. And also being robbed my expensive camera and items.
>>2896954>hostel girls are more DTFEven if it's true. I wouldn't even dare to fuck any of them. I don't wanna catch STDs
>>2897507>barely legal as a +30 year old you're fine.lol eat shit homo>>2896615yeah idk might try the private room, did hostels a bunch when I was younger and not really about it anymore. I am a picky sleeper, also would be paranoid about people stealing my work laptop from the lockers...but do feel like i end up going to hostel bars anyway to meet people
>>2896521Imagine staying in a hostel over the age of 25. Absolutely embarrassing. Grow up and get a hotel room like an adult.
>>2899222Imagine imagining other people are imagining things. Take your meds and have sex, loser.
>>2899223>t. Coping poverty travelerLolLmfao
>>2899224What color's your Bugatti?
>>2898255This is like not driving out of fear of an accident or not eating out of fear of getting fatThe odds of getting an std wearing a condom from a ONE time encounter with an infected girl is almost 0. She would need an active herpes outbreak bumping on your exposed skin, condom breaking, HPV touching exposed skin (herpes and hpv are 90% asymptomatic and most people have it not knowing). AIDS is impossible if you’re not gay. Everything else is curable easily It’s all such an incel cope fear.
>>2899222Repeating the same B.S. memebait doesn't make it true. Every hostel I've been to has hosted people of every age from 18 to 80. Every single one.
>>2898254Hostel robberies are 1 in 10,000 but they do happen. Usually it's small shit like a USB cable or a razor. The risk of getting caught is too high for most people. Plus most hostels have extensive security cameras.
>>2896627This guy gets it. Lot of people in here with Main Character Syndrome. Unless you're doing some wild shit nobody is even going to notice you. You're background noise to all the other main characters. >>2896814It's 6.5/60 now, just FYI
