Yes you read that right, trees in Greenland. The Qinngua Valley has the only natural forest in Greenland. It is about 15 kilometers long. It is protected from the cold glacier winds by the mountains surrounding it. It is believed that other forests of this type once existed in Greenland but were cleared by early settlers for firewood or building material. It's one of the most remote and untouched locations on earth and it would be extremely difficult to travel there but I still thought it was cool.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qinngua_Valley
>>2898737Why are you telling people about this, you fucking moron?
>>2898743/trv/ is too NEET or underaged to afford a trip to greenland.
>>2898743/trv/ has like 50 unique posters max and half are just SEA sexpats.
>>2898761/trv/ has hundreds of posters but a few of them live rent free in your head (incl me)
>>2898753You are but the rest of us aren't stupid enough to travel a week just to see a basic bitch forest
>>2898753That's just way too long a flight for me. I don't fly anymore. Seats too narrow, rules too many, can't bring water or ice or weed, don't want to get in trouble for some random thing I never thought about, nah, just gonna drive and stick good ol' USA. >>2898803taiga is kinda repetitive anywaysthe prettiest is the mixed deciduous-coniferous at higher elevations like around richwood, marlinton, and webster springs WV>but that's hicksyou are there to look at pretty treesalso lilley cornett woods has the biggest trees in the east at least by width I think you need to make an appointment and it's guided hikes only but they are nice about it
>>2898809If you are into trees no reason to leave the usa, you've got giant oaks in MD, giant oaks in fl or CA, both types of redwoods in CA, Aspens in the mountain west, deciduous up and down the east coast, rain forests in Washington. Nature outside the usa is underwhelming
>>2898826>you've got giant oaks in MDhmm where?I don't go west of the Miss river except I wanna see the Ozarks.
>>2898737Bretty neat. Viking explorers described Iceland as being covered in birch forest, i imagine that's what it must have looked like.If you fly from London to Boston you always fly over the east coast Greenlandic fjords, so I've traveled there many times in my mind.
>>2898831Nice comments :)
>>2898826There's a huge number of tropical fruit trees that don't grow anywhere in the USA
