What really goes on in there? Has anyone here who visited Turkey been to their Hamams?
>>
It seems a lot gayer than Japanese bathhouses

They need to steam off after a hot and oily Turkish wrestling session.

The thumbnail looked like a police morgue.

I don't think trv visits turkey which is odd it's a very comfy place.

I like parts of it, the main problem is nobody you want to talk to speaks any English
>>
lets say you had a busy night, woke up hangover with your friends. you say lets go to hamam and take a bath. you enter the place found yourself a corner that you can sit with your friends. they are usually big enough to find yourself a private corner. you talk, you keep drinking. you can ask extra aroma bottles which you can mix it with steamed water that soothes the atmosphere. you feel relaxed, hydrated, socialised, cured from hangover. its kind of similar to sauna but let say more wet version.

the stuff with the older men washing you, never experienced. if you dont ask them specifically, they wont even come and bother you. its just an extra service that they come and wash you which I never had.

I met a girl who visited Cappadocia on a recent trip, she said they had decent English fluency and were very friendly to an American. Americans are rare in Turkey, so we seem to get special treatment there.

I don't know about turkish hamams, but I once went with my wife to an hammam while we were in Morocco and the lady showering and scrubbing us insisted on us both being totally naked.
She also scrubbed my penis with a paste made of goat butter and ground coffee in front of the wife too, it was pretty nice.

some of those are explicitly gay, like the gay saunas in Europe. Full of turks and some tourists. Others are just a fancy experience for tourists, like a sauna/wellness experience. I think the cheaper it is, the likelier it's just a gay sauna.
