Let's talk about travel in this region.I'm planning a trip here and I only have time for 8 full days.My itinerary is as follows:2 days in Vilnius 5 days in Riga 1 day in TallinnI'm going to be taking two day trips from Riga: one to Sigulda and Cesis, and another to Kuldiga.What do you all think of this? Any tips? I will be staying in hostels (looking forward to the nightlife in Riga) and using public transport to get around.

>>2899316I am going to Vilnius in a month - did Tallinn and Riga 2 years ago and loved them. Tallinn is a bit more pricey and touristy, but is really incredible. Feels so medieval. I'd do a second day there desu and shave a night off Riga. Riga btw was 10/10, but isnt massive so 4 days would be fine. I did 3 and felt that I saw most of what I wanted to see. Value wise Riga and Vilnius seem to be the best. Just stay near the old towns and public transport will not even be needed - these cities are tiny. In Tallinn there is this cool medieval restaurant tourist trap - still worth it. The best art museum in town is a 30-40 min walk from old town but is in a gorgeous park area and is in an old palace. Very much worth the time to go. This is why I said youll want two days, as the 1 will just be you rushing around old town. Riga, definitely visit the library and hit a museum or two. The house of the Black heads was pretty cool, but so is their main Art museum. Idk what this guy is talking about safety, it feels safer than many parts of Sweden and Oslo as there are zero browns. The relatively high homicide rate (still low) is literally just from drunk russians who kill each other when they drink. Just avoid drunken russians and youre fine.
>>2899385Thank you anonI planned so much time in Riga for a few reasons. 2 of my days there will be spent elsewhere in Latvia, it seems like it has the best daytrip options of the 3 capitals. I really want to see some castles and cute towns, especially Cesis Castle and Kuldiga. Also, I'll probably be hungover on a couple of those days, and I'll need to get up early to do the day trips, so I need more time to ensure there are a couple nights of taking it easy while still having some crazy nights.Vilnius is bigger than Tallinn so I budgeted two days there, but I'd be more willing to shave a day off there. But I need to do more research before making the decision.Also, I can go back to Tallinn one day easier than the other two since I'm likely going to do a Sweden + Finland trip in the future.I'd have like 8 hours of daylight in Tallinn to explore it if I arrive at 11:30 am. Anyway, that's all my autistic justification for the itinerary in it's current state, but I'm still open to more feedback.Do you remember the name of the medieval restaurant and art museums?
>>2899439I spent a month touring the Baltics in march and April, Tallinn was my favorite, Tartu was chill. Estonia has very unique architectural and color style just check out how they blend old wooden and new metal apartment building s. Check out the Estonian children's literature center in Tallinn , free, for ten minutes for a sense of their folklore and the town hall pharmacy also free.I also really liked Kaunas, a college town just fabulous to see so many young white people . And Klaipeda was nice too. So easy to get around by train everywhere there's just one track, one of the last parts of Europe without ethnic littering but they already have plans for importing 1 million subhumans to kill off the locals so visit now
I'm from Latvia. There's not a lot of things to see in Riga. All the highlights can be seen in a day. Sigulda is nice, Kuldīga is ever better. Ventspils is even prettier than Rīga.
>>2899316You should switch that schedule up. 5 days in Vilnius, 2 in tallinn, and 1 in Riga.The "nightlife" in Riga is basically go to a bar and get charged for phantom drinks and held by the bouncers until you pay for stuff you didn't order. Vilnius is a much less scammy place with super friendly locals. Tallinn is nice too but people mainly speak Russian as a second language rather than English so it's more difficult to make friends

Its frustrating and demeaning to the people of these countries, as it implies to 'do' their major cities means to see a couple mainstream tourist destinations when in reality you would have to talk to every single individual and go inside every single building, know every bird and bee that passes through the land. To have 'done' a place.
