I've traveled extensively all over the US. I wouldn't rank any area of Appalachia in my top 50 for places to visit. For hiking and outdoors, the western US is infinitely better.

Google Maps only shows Lyft as an option for visiting cities like Dalton, GA or Bryson City, NC.

Seems more interesting than riding the Amtrak Crescent straight from Louisiana to NC, cutting through some of the most cookie cutter generic parts of the Southeast.
