Property taxes seem to be <1500/yr, utilities aren't that bad, and I'll see how it goes. Grew up in the south, and upon moving to a northern state for college I was flabbergasted by how much less congenial everyone was. It wasn't so much that everyone was rude, they just weren't warm. But growing up, I was used to genuinely warm and friendly people.I remember it really sunk in when I had a flat tire on the side of the highway, and the weather is shitty and it's taking me a lot longer than it should have to put on the spare. I realized in that moment that every other time in my life I'd had car trouble, someone had stopped and helped me. Usually some older dude who just saw someone having a bad day and wanted to help them out.Suffice to say I did eventually move back.
