Burger here. EU anons I need some advice on a trip for next summer. My plan is to spend two weeks going Prague->Vienna->Budapest by train and then a short flight to Tallinn. Second half of the trip I'll take a ferry to Helsinki to stay with a friend. I am moving to the EU in the near future so the real goal of this trip is to scope out where I'd like to stay.Are there any changes I should make to this? I'm considering skipping Tallinn to spend more time in the other three. I'm looking at 5 days Prague, 3 Vienna, 3 Budapest, 2 Tallinn. I'm a work from home autist looking for a quieter place to live where I can get by without a car. Open to visiting other countries or smaller cities. Any suggestions? Personal experiences?

With that said, 5 days is probably too much in Prague. I'd cut that to 3 or 4 days. Take a day to go to Kutna Hora. Spend a day on Bratislava too. It's a small city and you can see the old town in a day. They party hard on the weekends in old town.

I just moved to Vienna. Was in Germany before. I love Vienna already. You can get lost in the city, quietly go to museums (free AC!) or just fuck off and go hiking or hide in the forested areas of the Donauinsel all summer.

Inspire it's population, Wien is quite a big city.BTW, are you eager to learn the native language? If you planning to move to one of these places, you might find later yourself in a situation/place where nobody speaks english. After all aren't you planning not moving from those cities from time to time, don't you?

In every European country sans the UK, Ireland and Malta you are going to be up against a language barrier depending on what you do, do you have that in mind when considering moving?I've been to all of the places that you've mentioned. Prague is incredibly easy for a tourist to indulge in all the main attractions as they're largely situated on one road, outside that its main appeal is nightlife. I personally didn't find the city itself that interesting to warrant more than a couple of days but I still use it to break up longer flights and its a good base to see other areas of the Czech republic, which is a nice plan-B to have in mind should you tire of the city. I think 4 is good. I went to Brno once and Bunker 10-Z in Brno is a pretty cool experience, the city itself is nice too but more importantly - Brno has a convenient rail line into Bratislava. Bratislava is no more than a daytrip, but it is VERY close to Vienna such that you may as well border-hop from there. 3 days in Vienna is sufficient, its a great city though I do think the Austrian country and Alpine scenery has more appeal to its capital. 3 days in Budapest is fine. 2 days in Tallinn depends on how you're spending it. Tallinn doesn't have many attractions but its old town is pretty, still its a day trip, if you're going to the forests then maybe consider another day, otherwise hop to Helsinki.>>2901454...Or basically follow this dude, he has the right idea!
