Hey anons, i'm an euro looking to go to Cali sometime next year and just spending time there. Probably mostly in LA area but also traveling around. (Yes, i know your state is the size of my country)
I'm looking for tips on how to save on money while on the trip so i can stay for longer. I don't have experience with longer term travel so any input would be appreciated!

appalachia would be much closer

Don't go to California
Use Airbnb
Flixbus/greyhound to get around
go buy a "used" bike and lock

Hello. Born in California. Lived all over the state. Dont bother. Go to Montana or something

What is wrong with California?

Rent a van and put an airbed in the back. Shit in produce bags, tie them shut and throw them in the street for the jannies to pick up. Strip down and pour a jug of water over your head to shower. Doesn't matter who is watching. Don't leave a spot until somebody tells you to move along. Blow clouds of weed smoke in the faces of passersby while playing niggerbeats on your portable speaker. Live your California dream.

There are two paths you can go if you want to save money. The first is workstay. If you go this route you have the upside of spending nothing for the entire duration of your trip. I did a workstay in the Redwoods forest near SF / Silicon Valley. I worked about 10 hours a week painting benches and in return I got free room and board. The fags on aircucknb were paying $220 a night for the same thing, except they didn't get food and they couldn't use the showers.

Your other option is to rent a room off of craigslist. You want your own room with shared common areas. The floor for this in the most expensive American cities is roughly $800 a month. They will let you sign a monthly lease. From here you can do daytrips in and around LA. If you're staying around 90 days you save thousands of dollars doing it this way vs using aircucknb or using nightly rentals. You get to experience local life and you get to have nontransactional relations with people.

For expensive countries like the US I recommend workstay, pay $40 to access the platform and read the reviews to make sure its not a slave driver. For poorer countries I recommend the second approach, short term rentals using local listings.

Literally what isnt wrong with it? Its a giant shithole and cesspool of corruption, except the little guy isnt allowed to take part

There isnt a single resource in the state that isnt mismanaged.

The beaches? So much sewage is pumping in from Tijuana that it reaches LA. Every beach from Dana Point and south is practically the Ganjes at the moment. In San Diego the water is literally brown. Industrial waste from LA and sewage from Mexico mixing together to kill everyone in Orange County

Talking about Orange County, putting aside the fact it is just an endless swath of strip malls, the county is currently dumping thousands and thousands of gallons of weed killer into the water table because reasons? No one knows and there is even a legal order to stop spraying but its being ignored. Half of orange county is basically mexican or viet slums, (Anaheim, Garden Grove, City of Orange, Westminster) and the other half is Jewish sterile suburbia (Irvine, Costa Mesa, Mission Viejo)

Talking about weed killer, the state is dumping it all over the Lake Tahoe area in order to control wildfires, instead of actaully doing any sort of wildfire prevention like controled burns

LA area? To do what? Get harrassed by homeless? Its ugly, its dirty, there isnt anything you can do there that you cant do in any major city. Anyone saying otherwise is cope.

I hope you enjoy driving. And by driving I mean sitting in traffic. And trying to find parking. LA area? lmao.

Yea go to Little Tokyo bro its so much fun, get some steamed buns heated by mexicans lmfao

Public Transit? Knife attacks in LA literally all the time on the bus and train. There was a fucking machete attack in downtown SD the other month, Its a fucking shithole

let him experience america. sometimes shitholes are kino. it's all about who you cross paths with.

There are things to see in the United States.

Rent a car for three weeks. Sleep in it. Just go in google maps and put "truck stop" and you can park and sleep in the car. Cover the front window with a sunshade. Make sure you have some blankets. Stuff to cover the front tow windows etc. This is better than stopping at hotels because 80% of the hotels youll drive by on the highway are bedbug infested roach nests run by indians who dont wash the sheets ever

Take a road trip from Flagstaff Arizona, visit the grand canyon, all the way through Utah, stop by all the national parks, go to MOAB, go to Montana, Yellowstone, go Rushmore, drive through the plains of the Dakotas, go south, drive to Saint Louis, Go to Texas if you want to go to Texas. I wouldnt. Kansas is better. then go to the Appalacians, then end in a town with a airport of your choosing, return the car there and fly home.

Go down Route 66. Take state highways. THATS the american experience. Hang out in cities you want to stay longer in.

Dont waste away in Los Angeles. Or anyhwere in California really. Monterey area isnt a bad visit, you can drive north through Oregon after. Portland is a shithole too though. Point is dont just squat in some dump.

To add to this Ive driven cross country coast to coast six or seven times now so Ive got all sorts of tips.

I usually start the day looking for a local diner. Get the steak and eggs. Sometimes depending where I parked for the night I gotta drive and hour or two to the next town. If you cant find a local diner go to a Dennys. Its sisco slop but itll get the job done. If Im somewhere sizable ill then look for a specialty coffee shop for a pour over.

At the start of your trip go to a walmart, buy a roll of pastic trash bags and several packages of bathroom wet wipes. Trust me when you need to take a shit and the nearest bathroom is 2 hours away, youll be thanking God for having wet wipes in the car.

I usually stop exclusively at Pilot Truck stops. Most regular gas stations off of the major interstate freeways , especially if it isnt in a major citu, will let people park there overnight. BUT if you are in a mjaor city you NEED to find a truck stop or you risk being harrassed by cops. (Not really true but if youre a eurofag you should keep to this rule it wont fail you)

Rental cars almost always have tinted windows in the back so you only need to worry about the front.

If you want to see what America REALLY is, drive through it. Go through the desert. See the geological formations not found anywhere else on earth. Go through the small towns in New Mexico. Go to the small towns in the south. See the decaying infrstructure. See the ghettos in all the cities.

This is a retarded and pointless experience. Anyone can watch a dashcam video on Youtube and they will have "seen" America in the exact same way, without having to waste all of their money and time.

The only way to know a place is to reside in it. If he has 90 days, it's better to reside in one place for 90 days. Living in your car like a bum is expensive, risky, and unpleasant, and it accomplishes nothing you can't get from a Youtube video.
>>
>>2903260
This is completely false. You get nothing from sitting on your sofa drinking beer, shitposting and watching TV for 90 days in a place you've locked down for yourself. Dull. Mundane. Predictable. Saggy with fat rolls and medicated despondency. Some people are lazy shits who can't comprehend a life without their bottle of meds, their ass glued to a sofa and their eyes glued to a screen. Ignore them. Go have adventures, talk to weird people in camper vans at Walmart, sleep illegally in beach towns and enjoy the thrill of a sunrise starting another easy day, dance around a bonfire with a bunch of nomads you just met, drop some acid, stroll naked through the desert, do everything you ever dreamed of doing. This is the only way to live your California dream.
>>
>>2903260
Absolutely incorrect on every level possible.

I fucking hate the southwest, I hate the desert, but I will be the first to tell anyone that once in their life, they need to drive through Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Hell I hate the midwest too.

There is literally nothing more American than driving cross country.

Just like how you cannot fathom just how fucking big the grand canyon is until you see it; the tiny eurofag mind cannot comphrehend the vastness of the New World

"Residing" in LA is the most worthless experience you could advocate. American and even most European major cities have completely lost all real identity. They are just amalgamations of each other
>>
>>2903150
How much money do you have? Cheap lodging is usually not safe in LA. And what method of travel are you using? I enjoyed driving through the desert but I grew up in Florida so it was only because of the massive change in scenery.
>>
>>2903150
I have to ask... why go to LA? Sure there plenty of famous places there, but it's not a place to go to save money. It all depends on why exactly you're going there.
>>
>>2903320
I heard hostels are there maybe for a day of cleaning I can make some cash to feed myself and sleep. Trying to get myself a YT career for the rest and pay for my travels around the state, thinking about buying a Vespa or the like there of. Do some urban exploring in like Skid Row, old factories, the famous "hoods" and so on. Maybe I'll just hitch hike since California seems to be the good one where people are more European in politics and such. If I like it I might stay, the Euro is tanking whilst the USD seems to be fine. Seems like a good place to start an indie YT career/film/politics review channel and make some good cash. I heard houses in the USA can be cheap, like 300k for 2 bedroom? Insane compared to there.

Just not sure how quick it is to start making some cash.

lmfao you are going to end up dead in a ditch

You can take the tourbus away from the tourcattle, but then he just becomes housecattle apparently.
>>2903301
>There is literally nothing more American than driving cross country.
Why do truckers get paid thousands of dollars per week to do that, and why do only illegal spics and jeets want to be truckers?
>>2903337
You must be baiting with a plan this shitty. If you want money get a job. Jewtube is saturated with influencerniggers and it takes years to make a penny off of it
>>
>>2903344
I've seen other Germans do it fine. They use something called Greyhound. I think it would be fun to experience and interview people. My accent and looks will do me favors given the average walmart american goblin.
>>2903346
You sound like someone who only gets 2 weeks holiday and can't take it without paying thousands for it. I specifically chose California because they seem to be like a good mix of Sweden and Italy, I would love to learn to surf from the locals in exchange I show them and tell them tales from the EU; maybe help them move too. I know many americans are looking to move out.

Good plan. You will experience the bottom 20% of "Americans" and while traveling greyhound is shit it should be interesting.

I'm planning a similar trip to England on the cheap and will experience the dregs of Manchester . Just plan on studying them for a month or two
>>
>>2903351
>I've seen other Germans do it fine.
Germans are retarted, they also walk in Death Valley with their children and die of heat exposure
>>2903365
He was being sarcastic.
