Any small islands or island countries that are cheap to visit and get very little tourists?
>>2903240its gonna be a lot of Mediterranean and Adriatic sea islands, with the cheapest ones being the most rustic and rural. also some good options near africa. pacific islands are going to be so remote that it's not really cheap at all to get there, but they will be the nicest. the biggest expense is gonna be travel. do you have your own boat or are you going to be relying on whatever local service? the answer shifts what is "cheap" for you
>>2903240Any pacific island that isn't Fiji or French Polynesia

>>2903240>Any small islands or island countries that are cheap to visitdepends on your starting pointalmost all small islands are relatively cheap on the groundassuming you don't stay in fancy, isolated hotels and eat local foodthe single most expensive thing is transportation to and from the islandyou can cheat a little if you get there by boat, but even that will cost a lot>and get very little tourists?that means the transportation question is even more importantbecause now you can't fly there with cheap budget airlinesif you start from Europe and accept some tourism>Naxos or Lemnosfor example, cheap(ish) during off season with not that many touristsI did a week there when I was a student for like ~300€ (with inflation likely ~500€ now)if you're fine with some more tourism you can do>Madeira>Canary Islandsboth are possible to do very cheaply due to discounted flights sometimes and supermarket prices similar to mainland Europebut of course, even in the down season, you will not get away from tourist entirelyif you really want no tourist around>Indonesia Island hopping on fisher boatsuntil you find one you likeflights are >1000€+ but local prices with food+accommodation+transport are possible to keep below <30€/day>Vietnam>Thailand>Myanmaralso have some Islands that are less visitedand somewhat easy to reachif you really want to lonely tropical Island experienceyou have to fly to some tiny island nation, probably in the Pacific, but even the mainstream ones workflights are gonna be wicked expensive and you likely need a seaplane transfer which is gonna be hundreds of Euros on it's ownwent to French Polynesia once for my honeymoonflights were like ~2000€ p.P.and local flights (we changed islands 3 times) were 200-500€ one way! p.P.you also need to book well in advance if you want to stay in local guesthousesone Island had like a single guesthouse with 4 rooms... (which were all empty besides us)
>>2903240Cape Verde?
>>2903240>Any small islands or island countries that are cheap to visit and get very little tourists?Singapore
>>2903246They're all fairly expensive still and I earn first world Australian wagesVanuatu is probably the best though, Fiji further in away from the airport too. They each have their own strengths>t.been to nearly all of them
>>2903240halki in Greece.
best bet will be Greek islands but realistically small islands are just expensive due to lower economies of scale and higher transportation costs compared to mainlands or even larger islands
>>2903703>cheap to visit>Singaporeare you retarded? (or more likely one of the paid singapore shills)literally one of the most expensive destinations in the worldeven as backpacker on a shoestring budget, I struggled to keep it under 100€/day there>>2903753>They're all fairly expensive still and I earn first world Australian wagesthe "once in a lifetime trip" touristy stuff isbut on the larger islands, supermarkets have normal pricesand on the smaller islands, if you stay in guesthouses instead of hotels, you can often eat with the hosts for very little>>2903863>small islands are just expensive due to lower economies of scale and higher transportation costsgenerally yes, if you want the same standard of living(though for most greek islands specifically it doesn't matter because of daily ferries with trucks on them)for the pacific islands you can just lower your standard of living so you need less stuff transported by staying in>pensions de familleor similar and only eating local + shelf stable foodonly the flights will be expensive then
>>2903240Sao Tome & Principe
>>2903240>island>cheap >less tourists Sri lanka. You can visit Rain forests, historical sites, mountains, beaches etc.
Seto Inland Sea (Setonaikai)
>>2904104Worst country I've ever been to by alot, but it is cheap
>>2904104>Sri LankaPoos. No thanks
>>2904119Kek what was so bad about it
>>2904127Shitty infrastructure, scammers, even places like the capital there is nothing to do and no nice areas. Kind of like a training area if you want to go to India. If you are 20 and adventurous maybe it would be fun
>>2904126Then how about Sicily?
>>2903951> the "once in a lifetime trip" touristy stuff isThe issue is I'm Aussie and if you get away from the airport in places like Fiji you find more people American or Euros who are actually doing that sort of thing and staying long term. The vibe is so much better and the quality of tourists is higher. I really liked Pacific Harbor in Fiji and the volcano hikes in Vanuatu. It's not like southern europe expensive but they're remote islands, basically all food is imported and the resorts cater for some wealthy people so hotel prices are up there. There's some decent airbnb deals I guess.Sorta the same in Bali, far away from airport things just improve and you have longer term travellers, close to it is full bogans and dickheads on a weekend trip drunk out of their mind acting like cunts. If you want good value and island life honestly Thailand is still the king. Even with that much tourism Koh Lanta and Lipe are awesome, there's a dozen tiny ones that people don't really visit like koh wai or koh makIn Europe I get bored with the Greek islands pretty quick and want to go somewhere else after a few days, apart from Crete, but Crete is fucking huge.
