I used to ignore that idea for years but racism has made me a better person. I see the smiles brown people give me when a White guy visits there store or restaurant, I notice my White privilege every day.
I'm a pretty polite and courteous person by upbringing but I've noticed as I've become more racist, I give up my seat to the elderly Chinese lady knowing that I'm reinforcing the stereotype that White European are gentlemen.
Just today, in a 7/11 in Taiwan. I'm sitting on a still drinking a coffee, no other seats free - an old lady comes and greets her friend. I offer her my seat and leave with my coffee. Today she thought
>What a kind and courteous White man
You know what she's unlikely to have ever said to herself?
>What a kind and courteous Indian
Are you watering the flowers of White privilege anon?
>>
If this is the highlight of your trip anon, holy fuck that's depressing...

White as shit anon, but that's besides the point. You're making up some random ass thought about validation from what some old woman might have thought about you just simply moving which is a normal thing to do for old people. She probably forgot about it and most most likely thought "that was nice of the young man, now anyways about seeing my friend" and forgot about it 30 seconds later.

this is some weird mental gymnastics, like obviously a good thing to be polite and accommodating to the elderly. The way you opened this thread is just pure cringe, this is like "my first human interaction outside of /int/". This is just like the shit you joke about what otaku think about themselves when they say OISHI!~~ to a cook. It's just really pathetic

>White as shit anon. Two paragraphs that no one will read...
Oh. Sure. I can see why you would have a problem with a White guy making sure positive stereotypes are reinforced.
>>
>>2904386
Anon moving over or giving up your seat at a 711 of all things is really low on the "reinforcing a good stereotype".

Now if you pulled over to give some eldery a ride after a car broke down, walked their luggage up the stairs because the stations only had stairs, gave up your seat to a flight because it was overbooked and a family couldn't be on it all together, etc. Sure that would leave a lasting impact.

You scooted over at a 711, for an eldery no less whoope fukin doo

Browndawg, you are missing the underlying point of the argument. This is why you perform poorly as a group in higher education. The act that you have focused on is not the point, ask a White guy to explain to you. My question, not to your types, is 'do you keep in mind your group stereotypes when interacting in foreign countries?' It doesn't mean I had to save a drowning child today, it could have just been a smile or opening a door for someone. I am asking about intentions and motivations - a little deeper than what you've latched on to there.
No matter, this was a question for White people anyway

Anon you moved for an old lady, this is something you just naturally do regardless of the country. Why you had to make yourself think "heh yeah this helps reinforce muh race" then had to think about indians, come here and post on 4chan about it, that's what's pathetic.

No one in their right mind is going to think "yeah that's how good white people are damn he moved over for me!" and
>Browndawg, you are missing the underlying point of the argument.
No otherwise in the OP you wouldn't have said this
> give up my seat to the elderly Chinese lady knowing that I'm reinforcing the stereotype that White European are gentlemen.
>Are you watering the flowers of White privilege anon?

Make this thread on /int/ so people can laugh at you for being a white guy who eats at 711 taking a spot for business men who don't get more than 30 minutes. Your thread backfired hard anon, it's just kinda pathetic when you think about all the steps you went through and had to actually think "yeah fucking indians wouldn't do this", enjoy your time in Taiwan not on 4chan this is just sad.
>>

Not reading all that. You still keep repeating
>you moved for an old lady
How many ways must I explain that is irrelevant to the point? Have I encountered the stereotypical 4chan autist here with a hyperfixation? Tell me how I can help you understand the point.
Here. Maybe this will help:
You're right anon! Moving for an old lady is completely unexceptional! Anyone would have done the same! I should have used one of the many other examples of far more grander acts of courtesy and magnanimity of which there are too many to list here. Thank you for pointing that out over and over again!
Anyway, back to my point. Is anyone aware of their White privilege when interacting with people abroad and keen to present and maintain the image of the courteous and gentlemanly White man? I feel like my racism has made me more acutely aware of my group.
>>
>>2904394
Dude his hands are brown hes not going to comprehend what you are saying

>Is anyone aware of their White privilege when interacting with people abroad and keen to present and maintain the image of the courteous and gentlemanly White man? I feel like my racism has made me more acutely aware of my group.

Yes. I appreciate being treated better and i know i deserve it because my group is better. It also comes with downsides as i look rich (tall white good looking) so i get targeted by scammers of color more often than subhumans
>>
>>2904394
If you want to be courteous that's fine but why of all things are you eating inside a 7/11 primarily meant for people in a hurry then? Given the time this was posted I am assuming it happened around lunch or breakfast, gg great way to look like a dick to people who were hoping to get a spot too.

Anon, I am saying the action that you referenced in the OP that seemingly lead to the creation of your OP given the context you laid out, is pathetic. People smiling at you, especially as a customer or repeat visitor to somewhere, is normal human interactions as well.

You jump the shark in your OP and following posts and now trying to cope of "no not what I meant 4 realz" I'm sure this sounded way cooler in your head but this entire thread reads like some dude who's never been outside.

>Is anyone aware of their White privilege when interacting with people abroad and keen to present and maintain the image of the courteous and gentlemanly White man? I feel like my racism has made me more acutely aware of my group.
No, no one thinks this people usually just see asshole retards and non asshole retards. Sure racists do exist, but most people simply have better things to care about during their day like getting to work, eating a quick meal, literally anything else. Sure if a group of rude Chinese clog up the escalators I might think fuck up, but I'd forget about it 5 minutes later like a normal individual.

This is such a shut-in mentality you have OP.
>>
>>2904396
I said I didn't read your two paragraphs. Then you post 6.
>>
>>2904395
>It also comes with downsides as i look rich (tall white good looking) so i get targeted by scammers of color more often than subhumans
Small price to pay. Adoration from women, instant respect and deference from other men.
>>
>>2904397
Okay I will put it simple:
No no one but pol brained retards think "yup gotta show the good of the white race" instead of being polite
Your OP is cringe because the reasons and rebuttals you gave ITT and for this thread are beyond dumb
>>
>>2904399
I'm not even reading that. I doubt you're discussing the point. Stop obsessing man. We both know that's in your patient profile.
Ignoring all posts from this autist.
