Years ago I used to prefer travelling alone, but now I'm blessed with a cheapskate gf who doesn't mind third world discomfort and walking all day for months on end. It's perfect.
I can't stand travelling with other people still. I can tolerate shitty compromises for about a week until my blood starts to boil and I wonder why am I even doing this.

I'm a gay guy. Who wants to travel with me? All I do is go through Appalachia. It sucks not having someone to share the driving with. Would be nice to switch off every hour, could get more done.

mainly to save more money splitting an airbnb, sharing a vehicle/gas, and having things to do in a group, but I agree it's just not worth the money saved. Feels like I end up ruining my friendships by the end of it. I come to realize our values are too different.

I took next week off just to use my yearly PTO and don't really have a plan. I'm near some really nice natural beauty and think I'm just going to do a 1-2 day trip, mostly to visit a shrine that I visited as a kid and that my mother prayed for my grandfather at.
Not really religious but raised Catholic and broaching 30 and starting to have different thoughts on life as a whole and gramps was my role model as a kid.
Of course the whole reason why I'm posting in his thread about it is that I'm going alone.
