How feasible is spending weeks/months walkthing through countries and hitchhiking in Europe? I guess it's not very dangerous if you just don't walk through wildressness and have any survival insticts.

People walk the Camino all the time, trv used to have a Camino general thread even. You might as well start there in Spain or Portugal. IDK what survival instincts would be at play. The country has been tamed for nearly 1000 years. There are villages everywhere offering clean drinking water and places to rest in the shade. Even if you do hurt yourself through carelessness, medical care in Europe is basically free. Don't ever leave your wallet and passport unattended of course. Bring them into the hostel toilet with you. Be friendly but don't let others tell you where to go and what to do.

Bivouacking in a sleeping bag and tarp max might be okay but it could also be illegal and just tolerated by police in the usual youth gathering hotspots (lakes, riversides...). Same goes with fires like in germany any kind of open fire is banned and even with a gas cooker you're pushing you luck. Most of europes forest is designated as commercial forest so you could get away with a night max unspotted.

There's plenty of gear that can keep you warm. As for finding hotspots, should be fine? I wouldn't be close to major cities for the most part.

I did this plenty of times so yeah, it only gets more relaxed in the alps once you're above the tree line.For hotspots well you can find them but it's usually hard unless you know the local youth culture. On the positive side you can just ask locals to camp in their garden/on their land and most of them are very open to it if you tell them what you're doing(bonus points for speaking or at least having a sing in the local language, pro tip camino de santiago or E10 European long distance path is your excuse) and will be gone in the morning. You might even score a free shower, night indoors, place to wash your stuff, dinner or breakfast.

Only walk those sections that seem interesting and/or have proper trails instead of busy narrow roads that are hell for walking. Skip the areas of ultra-boring farmland and industrial development too. Shower and laundry will both be tough to find as a vagabond, so you can expect bodily hygiene to take a hit. Unheated foods will be your diet as well. It's pretty easy to get away with forest camping. Who gives a fuck about legality, shit in the bushes anywhere you want. Personally I wouldn't camp in a party spot as they are very dirty, and a pack of drunk youths might try to fuck with you. Seclusion is best. Find thick soft grass to lay down in, just like the deer do.
