Went to Tokyo for 8 days 2 years ago and loved it
Going to Japan next year, this time for 2 weeks and planning on booking hotels for 2-3 locations throughout the trip, preferably at least one urban location and one more rural out there location
>>
Osaka and Kyoto obviously.

I really dug Beppu out in Kyushu. Bus ride from Fukuoka or Nagasaki. It is a hot spring town, but has a bit of an old resort town that time forgot kind of feel with hot spring steam everywhere. Early moring walks are a serious vibe. Some rugged bathhouses there and some fancier ones along with the Hell pools.

Hokkaido

Kansai has a lot going for it in addition to Osaka and Kyoto. There's Nara, Himeji, Iga, Wakayama. Not to mention it's an hour and a half away from Hiroshima by Shinkansen.

Please tell us more about your time here.
Any reccomended towns to stop off in on the Shinkansen?

You've got 12 more years until the Shinkansen to Sapporo is finished.

But since it goes all the way to Hakodate, if you transfer there, you can get to Sapporo.

Nta but take the fucking plane to cts and go to sapporo and base yourself out of there

Sure theres technically shit to see and do if you wanna shinkansen from tokyo to hakodate and then get on different trains or whatever; but this is like flyover country type stuff

If u dead set, theres nikko (big old shrine complex) and sendai (big city) and zao (fox village)

Plane's cheaper than trains and much faster and very convenient, and then you have more time to do things in hokkaido

Yeah depending how much time I have I think it would be cool to fly one way and then shitkansen one way and see wtfs up with Aamori, Morioka or jaunt to Akita
train rides also give me a boner so its worth the extra $ for daddy ( thats me )
but anyway it sounds like maybe you can reccomend some Hokkaido spots or Sapporo things to do ?
