Ever been impressed with how disappointing something is in real life? And I don't mean the obvious tourist traps like Plymouth Rock where it's pretty clear there's nothing to see. I mean ones that can look cool in a decent picture. I'd seen the Supertrees hyped up online for years. People saying only Singapore could do this and the whole world is behind back when these things were first presented. Though they must be pretty impressive.Turns out it just feels like a cheap amusement park attraction within a fairly mid park. It's tacky pink and neon green plastic piping with vines that only go up partway.

my family went to Dollywood years ago. Idk how hyped it is across the country but it was pretty disappointing. It's basically a amusement park for little kids. There are only 1 or 2 actual rollercoasters.
The mona lisa at the Louvre. It's a very small painting, you can't even get close to it, and you will barely even see it due to swarms of Asians photographing it. There were plenty of much more impressive works there that had no one around them, imo.
>>2907788Super trees were meh. It was fun to walk on the walkway at night tho. Cool view. The two dome gardens one kind of sucked but the one with the waterfall was coo. My favorite part of gardens by the bay was walking along the less visited outdoor areas during rain I had it all to myself.
I feel like I've been pretty lucky in not being disappointed by anything I've chosen to visit. The closest is probably Hokokuji Temple in Kamakura. It was smaller and less dense than I expected. Still wasn't terrible, and thankfully everything else in the area was a step up, so the day still ended up great.If we're counting cities in general, not just sights or activities, I was disappointed by Athens. The Acropolis is really cool, but the city itself is a giant, ugly mess of dull apartment buildings and graffiti. I loved everywhere else I went in Greece, but I have no real desire to go back to Athens.
