>What is this thread? Why are there two generals?
/rcg/ was initially created as a way for the roller coaster enthusiasts on here to discuss all things roller coasters and theme parks. While roller coasters are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other theme parks, their rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /tpg/ comes in.
>Can I talk about Disney/Universal parks in this thread?
Absolutely! Disney/Universal discussion of all sorts including rides/resorts/dining/trip planning is OK.

General Rules:
1. Talk about Theme Parks and/or Rollercoasters.
2. There is no second rule.

Based! I'm glad I'll get to ride it again. I do hope it reopens close to me, but it will be worth traveling to regardless.

Disney shrubbery updates? Any Disney garbage can movements in the last couple of weeks? Can any anon who's been to those remodeled restrooms in Disney Studios post a trip report?

Word is Six Flags is keeping the name “Arieforce One”. Kind of weird but that’s nice.

Heading to HHN tonight. Usually I give an autistic breakdown each year of how to do all 10 houses without express, but I expect the early house openings to trivialize that this year. We'll see.

How does one discuss any park in this hobby that is not Disney or Universal? All other parks pale in comparison, they simply aren't worth talking aboutr

I like the quaintness of non-Disney/Universal parks.
>>

Unpainted wood coasters are hideous
>>
>>2909267
I really want to go to Kennywood. I hope Herschend doesn't change the classic amusement park atmosphere too much.

Tornado is painted white.
>>

It’s great. All of the wooden coasters hold up (Jack Rabbit’s double dip is one of the craziest elements on any coaster) and have buzz bars. Phantom’s Revenge is Morgan’s magnum opus and also basically has buzz bars. Their flat collection is excellent with some old ones you won’t find elsewhere. And then there’s the legendary Noah’s Arc walkthrough.

I don't live very far away from it at all. Gotta figure out when's the best time for shorter lines.

The station isn’t the coaster.
>>
>>2909280
It's part of the coaster, and is unpainted, ergo hideous.
>>

I’ve only been on Sundays and waits were never bad. I got to lap Phantom and Steel. Jack Rabbit and Racer will have a 15 minute line.

It's just better to go to specific forums in your language for your local theme parks that aren't run by multi billionaire companies. At least for us italian i guess, we always had a forum since the early 2000' mostly focused on our parks with threads for almost each ride. Changed domain now but still up to this day.

There used to be hundreds of coaster forums, the larger ones had broad national and international appeal but there were many smaller sites devoted to individual parks where people exchanged information and posted trip reports. All of the big ones are gone now I think except Coasterbuzz and TPR, and both of those are run by unpleasant literal spergs and aren't worth reading much less joining.

I think now people use reddit and youtube comments. The scope is much broader so there's less specific information available.
>>
>>2909282
Alright I think I'm going to try and go next year. It looks so great, and Phantom's Revenge looks like a perfect coaster.

Have you seen the majority of Disney patrons? These are not sporty folks. Look at what profitable Disney properties have in common, they cater towards the lazy.
