I visited New York in June 2025 and absolutely fell in love with it. What I loved most was the atmosphere: the incredible skyscrapers, the skyline, the Art Deco architecture, the lights, the sheer energy of the city, and even its capitalist character and image of power. There was something about the combination of ambition, density, architecture, wealth, and constant activity that I found incredibly exciting.It made me wonder: which cities around the world do you think come closest to New York in terms of atmosphere and overall feeling?A few Americans told me that Chicago would probably be the closest equivalent. Hong Kong also seems like a strong candidate I guess.What other cities would you put on the list? Would you say Chicago and Hong Kong are the closest, or are there other cities that get the New York feeling even better?

Also the fact that HK like NYC both have land limitations.

>>2909934I stayed at the Marriott, right near Times Square, and I think it’s definitely the best place to stay rather than choosing a hotel farther away from Manhattan. I paid around $2,500 for all my trip of one week. I didn’t go to any theaters, though. However, I the food is very expensive in America.

I find skyscrapers and cityscapes amazing.Raised in a flat nowhere town where it was rare and cool af to be somewhere with a third floor so you could have a view above a tree line. Also had parents, mainly my father, who had an extreme aversion to cities, but when forced to go do something in one always enjoyed themselves.
