Sup /trv/ Going to be making my way down to Dallas for a few weeks before I move next year for work. Any spots to look for? Places people have visited or good spots for good events and such? Single guy, 100k/yr, no kids(that I know of lol), early 30's.Looking at the international district for a place to live in close to things I need, going to be in office for 2-3 months setup then 1 day a week, and then remote with in office as needed. Boss doesn't care about traveling around the country but we have to set up our new HQ/Call center. Anyone live around there? Rent is pretty cheap from the looks of it, some decent bars around, and train station which is nice (car is on the way out). Any tips for visiting Texas to get a real feel for it?
Dallas is one of the most soulless shithole places I've ever been. These days it's likely even worse.

It's also still commuter distance from Dallas and Fort Worth. Alternatively Weatherford or Wise sound good if i work on the Fort Worth side, even Arlington is commuter distance from the latter.

Right now they're mostly relegated to Frisco, Plano, and Prosper area but their is fast growing population in McKinney. I've got some family that live there and their neighborhood has quickly become majority Indian.Also the amount of construction currently going on in Collin County will make any travel into DFW proper an absolute headache. I would do some research into the current construction projects and planned projects they have right now. North part of the Metroplex has become an absolute nightmare to traverse.I know it would be a longer commute into DFW, but if I had any kind of desire to move anywhere else around here, I'd look northeast. Greenville area, possibly Sulphur Springs. It's rural for sure but you're still close enough to the city. Housing will be cheaper as well.Denton County is a no go. Crowded as shit and home prices have gone absolutely insane for what you're paying for. Or if you're willing, out near Decatur or even going north into Gainesville isn't too terrible yet. Really is going to just come down to what you're willing to do for travel times in and out of DFW.If you've got your mind made up about North Texas do thorough research because shit is blowing up here fast. Noeth Dallas Tollway corridor going north in particular.

It's growing but there's plenty of shit to do around there. Only issue with Little Elm is going to be traffic going south. I honestly think McKinney would be your most solid choice between your two choices.
