Was thinking of going to Poland next summer for 2 weeks to retvrn to my roots. I need itinerary ideas. I've already been to Krakow and Gdansk, but I need at least 2 days in Gdansk because I feel obligated to visit family there. Other than that, what are the best places to visit + routes to take? I'm particularly interested in Warsaw and Wrocław but open to anywhere else including day trips. I'm fluent in the language btw. Main goals are just to experience cool things and maybe, just maybe, find a wife.Also general Poland thread
you have answered your question my guy. If you have not yet, visit Malbork on the way to Warsaw. Easy 4-5 days in Warsaw or even a full week with some day trips like Chopins hometown etc. I think its a very underrated city. From there take the train Wroclaw is also a solid 4 day city, or more if you really want to see it all and take it slow / find all the gnomes. From there do a couple days in Poznan as you return to Gdansk (assuming you fly home from there)

>>2911345If you're in Gdańsk try also a day trip to Toruń or if you're more into small towns then to Pelplin/Chełmno or even Golub-Dobrzyń. These are small historical towns with plenty of both Polish and Teutonic heritage. And Toruń is also fun in the evenings because it's a university city.

Chełmno looks cool. I like those smaller towns for daytrips. I want to do a 2 week road trip and do Gdansk, Torun, Poznań, Wrocław and Krakow. It's also cheap to fly to Poland from the west coast in the US for some reason. I see roundtrip flights for $500 all the time. I was going to Skip Warsaw, but I'd be very into goth girls.

So many more than in America. Many had no rings or boyfriends in evidence. Give it your best shot. Don't hurry around too much; most Polish are patient and tolerant, despite their grumpiness when behind any kind of sales counter. The smaller towns are cute, and many of them welcome visitors more warmly than you'd expect.

It's right next to Wałbrzych (an otherwise ugly run down shithole people in Wrocław joke about), you can easily get there by train and IIRC from there there's a bus that goes to the castle directly.Another top spot are the Churches of Peace - the smaller one in Jawor (middle of nowhere) and the larger in Świdnica (extremely easy by train from Wrocław). They're some of the largest strictly wooden churches in the world.Karpacz/Szklarska Poręba if you want to hike the mountains.Other cool stuff off the top of my head that may be harder to reach - Project Riese tunnels, Czocha castle. If you have a lot of free time, you could do Kłodzko and the surrounding mineral spring towns (Kudowa, Duszniki). Siedlęcin has a small noble's tower with some of the world's oldest Arthurian frescoes, it's an easy hike from Jelenia Góra if you don't have a car. Bolesławiec if you want to buy someone the pottery some people go crazy about, but there's otherwise little of interest in the town itself.And speaking of goth girls, Bolków castle runs the country's largest goth festival in July.

Ok, here's a preliminary itinerary I came up with, about 2 weeks:>land in Warsaw (2-3 nightsEvery Polish person says it's boring, but there are still some sites I'm interested in. It's the capital after all. No nearby day trips interest me though so doubt I'd need more than 2-3 days.>Krakow (3 days)Already done most big things in area, but there are still some sites I haven't seen. Plus it's a nice city and it's been a while. Really just want to take a day trip to Rszeszow, and MAYBE Orava castle in Slovakia if I can rent a car.>Wroclaw (3-4 days )Probably the most authentic Polish city on this list (least tourists), but there's like a days worth of actual tourist stuff to do. However I'd like to do a day trip to Adršpach in Czechia and Czestochowa. Plus I hear Wroclaw has the best nightlife. I'm planning on going to Ukraine from there and probably won't spend more than a couple of days in Warsaw. I don't know when (or if) I'll be returning home.2) Can I bring beef jerky through Customs or will Poland make me throw it all out?
