I like to sleep in my own bed, anytime I don't it feels like every hour of sleep is worth half. Any protips? I'm in my 30s now
>>
pay out the ass for latex mattress king beds in quiet places or suffer like the rest of us
t. sleeping on velour sheets tonight cuz I cannot afford better
at least the boomers upstairs (I'm in their basement) are quiet now

>pack this
>pack some melatonin
>fixes sleep issues and groggy feeling
Bonus: have a USB small fan to blow on you while sleeping and white noise. Was feeling like dogshit for the longest time in Asia, went got some multi vitamins, doubled up on them, slept like 14 hours immediately after felt great since.

I sleep well in my travels by having a shittier quality of life back home.

Me back home:
>have to work
>have other responsibilities
>okay bed
>little to no exercise
>eat mediocre food

Me when traveling:
>don't have to work
>most responsibilities are set aside
>bed is usually equal or greater in quality
>get lots of indirect exercise because walking around in an unfamiliar country is fun to me
>eat better than I do at home
Even if I get a shitty bed, the other things negate the shittiness.

only my first night in a new place is less restful

jet lag usually sorts this for me. If I travel far enough away then I know I am going to get my ass kicked so it does not matter what plate of cement I end up in I am still going to do 10 hours like death and wake up absolutely fresh as glistening 10 dollar hooker from her first shower of the evening.

Just get an AnytimeFitness gym pass to remain active so at least you don't end up a shut in

I'm 27 and I still enjoy hostels and long nights. Then again I only travel like twice a year, so it's more of a privilege for me.
I can't imagine being an old boomer who complains about everything

make more money
unironically solves the problem
500/night for a Four Seasons room and you get a bed more comfy than your own

otherwise
just slow down a bit
and go to bed early!

somewhere in my mid 20s I realized I actually hated going out at night and didn't want to be in any bar (also because I started to dislike alcohol)
now I go to bed at like 10 or 11pm
after dinner straight back to bed
then get up early and explore
my sleep and energy is so much better

but anon that gets me 5 night for 2500
I can stay almost 2 weeks in New England (which is not a cheap environment) for that same price if I stay in slightly-ghetto-but-not-the-worst airbnbs where I have my own entrance

Well duh. Budget travel is shitty sleep and awful bowel movements and horrible bus rides and Thirdie scams. That's the fun of it. Sleeping in dad's plush guest bedroom in his half million dollar tract house is much comfier of course, but the adventure aspect is totally lacking. Just get your ass up in the morning, head onward and hope the next town will be better - it won't be, but you still gotta keep hoping, because optimism makes it all worthwhile somehow.

I've grown to fucking hate airports

it takes such a huge chunk out of every travel day and it is such a shit experience and a feeling of wasted time

It became really noticeable when I last took the train to another city. Uber to the station, buy tickets, go on train, 5 minutes from car to train and I'm moving.

There has to be a better way of organizing air travel what we have now is not good enough.

I love Singapore airport and have spent probably 100 hours there at this point, maybe travel somewhere better than CDG.
>>
Yeah this is why im glad i traveleld in early 20s. It stops being fun at 25 or so

>airbnbs
and the beds there will be shitty

OP asked for tips on how to sleep better
and good, expensive hotels always have very comfy beds that
some chains even consistently the same mattress, duvet and pillows worldwide
so this is valid strategy if you have the money

you don't have to spend that much (especially in Asia)
but at that point you will virtually never be disappointed and don't need to research before

and I mentioned Four Seasons because they have guests that go there literally for the bed
like my own parents
who refuse to sleep / travel anywhere else and even have the same mattress at home

almost this >>2911691

Just get a prescription for 3 xanax + 1 seroplex a day + maybe some adderall

Then get fucked on alcohol, but obvioulsy you can't get drunk for 14 days straight (or whatever your travel is) without some big downsides.

Then you can enjoy your travel 100%.

>and the beds there will be shitty
it is 100% a crapshoot sometimes they are good, sometimes they are not so good, I suppose you could be anal and ask about the mattress before booking, and I did see some properties advertising latex mattresses (the best kind)

you don't need to give some giant shitty brand your money to get a good bed though, you just have to ask what kind of mattress it is
