I love Boston because every time I ask a local about Dunkin they go>It's my favorite thing ever, I love Dunkin so much. I get it every morning, I get sad when I go somewhere and they don't have as many as we do>Wow. So it's good?>Not really
>>2913408They're in the process of getting hollowed out by Private equity. I guess it's in their Irish blood to irrationally love something shitty because it's local.
>>2913408I grew up in DC and now live in Seattle. Although imo the west coast is a little better on this, the provincialism of coastal metropolis dwellers is absolutely insufferable. Seattleites are the biggest coffee faggots ever. It all tastes the same (except for monorail coffee). Boston and Seattle in particular are rabidly prideful of being born and raised there. They refuse to accept anyone not otherwise born there as a local. Welp, I’m in your city faggot, making money, paying taxes, and patronizing and enjoying your local business fare, and you won’t do SHIT about it. They think everything in their city is some kind of world wonder. They think idiosyncratic local quirks and cultural behaviors deserve some kind of anthropological level of analysis. My theory is that most coasties are worthless people with no skills, grit, or unique life experiences so they the afforementioned as a substitute.
>>2913449>They refuse to accept anyone not otherwise born there as a local. Really? I had no problem there as a transplant>Welp, I’m in your city faggot, making money, paying taxes, and patronizing andOh it's a paypig. Yeah they dont like those. Cheap chads win again.
>>2913453>Cheap chads win again.Your whole life is bragging about being a lazy loser who sleeps behind dumpsters
>>2913449I grew up in DC and I tried living in Portland, OR for a year and the climate is just too extreme. Apparently I got an especially rough winter that was even more daily-drizzly than usually and did not get warm until mid May but it just beat me up.Anyways, is there anything interesting to see in Boston beyond the usual popular tourist stuff like freedom trail and all that? I would be interested in visiting if there's something unique and worthwhile, I haven't been since I was like 8 years old and it seemed the least shitty of the DC-Bos corridor cities, but maybe that's changed or my impression was mistaken.
>>2913483providence mogs it (if you're white. they're racist af there)
>>2913408I'm always disappointed when they don't have French Crullers or Butternut. Also, they had the best fast food sandwich I've ever had, it was this turkey chipotle lunch sandwich and they got rid of it maybe around covid. BRING IT BACK DUNKIN, BRING IT BAAAAAACKt. Rhode Island
>>2913484Ok but what is there to see there?
>>2913441It's consistent. Not everyone wants to pay double the price and wait 15 minutes for a gender studies major to pour their coffee in some gay commie den.Iced coffee revitalized Dunk's in the 2010's and being able to order from an app and walk in / walk out with your order in 15 seconds saved it in the 2020's.>>2913484Low key wondered about Providence being awesome because nobody talks about it nationally. Coastal New England's loaded with awesome places, just a question of whether or not fifth generation townies successfully make it miserable enough to want to leave.
>>2913540>loaded with awesome placesname severalinb4 normie touristslop
>>2913441What happens when private equity runs out of fast food companies?
>>2913545providencenewportcape codmartha's vineyardnarragansett that one mountain in new hampshirethat one city/town in vermontmohegan sunmaine
>>2913618That's a good question. The fact they are allowed to hollow and destroy productive companies makes going public a retarded proposition at this point.In-N-Out is still privately held. Maybe that's the answer.
>>2913670nothing specific and I'm not going to a casino lolI'm just gonna drive to Camden and do Acadia in the off season at some point
>>2913545Jonesport
>>2913540> Low key wondered about Providence being awesome because nobody talks about it nationally. Providence is a great city. It’s much smaller and doesn’t have the amenities of Boston, but the people are far friendlier, and it has its own vibe and culture. Excellent place. And, close enough to Boston on the commuter rail or drive if you need to go there.
>>2913483> I grew up in DC and I tried living in Portland, OR for a year and the climate is just too extreme. I dunno. I lived in Portland for 10 years and it wasn’t the weather that drove me out, but the passive-aggressive nature of the people and all the transplants creating a cultural vacuum. Seriously, if you took all the hipster regards in the 2010’s in Brooklyn and airlifted them into Hartford, it would be no different from Portland, culturally. I always felt bad for the people who’d grown up there. They were basically more relaxed New Englanders, but had to deal with an onslaught of useless retards from around the country.
I love Dunkin because at the homeless shelters they give out dozens of giftcards there. I've been living off breakfast sandwiches for 2 years
>>2913408Go a bit south and get some Honey Dew. Much better all around.
>>2914083Honestly anon, extremely based if you’re telling the truth. Smart man
>>2913408I stopped given even the slightest fuck about Dunkin' when they got rid of the Peach Passion Fruit Refresher. Fuck that place, hope it goes bankrupt. Fucking loved that drink, it was my favorite thing.
>>2914074Vancouver BC is exactly the same but 70% chinkjeets that hate you for not being a chinkjeet. Entire pnw is unlivable because of the shitty people
