Going to Louisville for a few days. Anything fun to do here besides KFC and bourbon?

It's the gay capital of the region, unironically.
Horse races are fun to go to.
Historical farms nearby like the ones featured on that Orange Fool video maker showed us.
La Grange has a train that runs through the street.
Thunder over the Ohio is cool of you're there during that time.
The trade grounds have a massive flea market almost everyday.
It's a fun place, people are usually pretty nice and easy to make quick friends.
There's a bar downtown that has like 5 floors and each floor plays a different kind of music style.

Louisville is also known for having a yearly Lebowski fest celebrating the film Big Lebowski up until last year. I think it's over now. They also had a decent hardcore scene that produced Slint and Knocked Loose.
Also home to Louisville University, they have a decent football team, you could possibly attend a game if their schedule lines up.
Finally they're the home of one of the major Southern Baptist seminaries. So if you want to debate theology you can probably find some people willing to do that.

I found the stuff in nearby Indiana more compelling and wish to return there (marengo cave)

Here's what I have on google maps saved for that area:
flame run - hot glass art gallery, interestingly they have one side for fused glass and one side for blown and you can commission your own pieces on the spot for reasonable prices

conrad-caldwell house - pretty richardsonian romanesque house you can tour the inside of, haven't been, hope to go

^this is between cincinnati and louisville, closer to the former, but it's a nice bluff view overlooking the Ohio River that you can drive right up to and there's cheap (5$ I think) car camping spots all along the road to it you can pay for via qr code. It's a crappy dirt road and you may want 4wd but it's not that bad - pay attention to gps directions to GET to the park you cannot exactly get from here to there from the west so you will have to go around and the back roads kinda suck (narrow).

If you have a bike, go ride the Parklands of Floyds Fork trail. You can rent a scooter downtown and ride the trail on the waterfront. Definitely walk across the Big Four bridge.

Nachbar in germantown is a fun hipster dive bar. There are lots of good breweries downtown. West 6th Nulu is rad. Milewide is another really good one. They have an old school pinball arcade. 3rd Turn Brewing is amazing too and recbar has a cool old school arcade across the street.

Definitely go check out the free 21c Museum. The Galt House conservatory is a cool place to check out. It's also free to just walk in. Really good views up there. The top golf in Louisville is really good and relatively cheap compared to most of those places.

If you're going around Christmas, there are great pop up xmas bars downtown.

Louisville has a good live music scene too. Check out bandsintown to see who's playing while you're there.

Any Louisville local remember the music store "Ear-xtacy". It was the embodiment of the 90s.

I used to buy records from there any time I was visiting family in Louisville. One of the employees was the fruity guitarist from Elliot and he used to eye-fuck me every time I went in to buy stuff.

any breweries with GOOD food?
I tried Bar Atomica and the food was just ok.

>galt house
like as in ayn rand?

I've never had a great meal at a brewery in Louisville. New York Pizza Company on Frankfurt is great. MozzaPi is a little further out, but it's great if you're in that area.
The best burger place in town is Jay's Burgers. It's a food truck. The burgers are unreal. I live on the west coast and I prefer Jay's to In&out. For BBQ, I like City BBQ and Mark's feedstore.
I love West 6th Nulu beer, and it's a a great brewery, but the food is bad. And don't let anyone tell you to go to the Post for pizza. It was terrible.

O'Charleys is great.

youre not talking about this are you? Just looks like Etsy-tier booths

You forgot to post a pic. But yeah that's kinda what flea markets are. Little homespun trinkets if you are lucky, if not it's temu slop.

sorry I think I posted the wrong one, https://www.thefleaoffmarket.org/
but that looked like etsy stuff. I like flea markets with actual old shit from back in the day

The Kentucky speedway isn't too far from their either. Same for Mammoth Caves
