You always complain about other tourists, but it's time to confess.

What were the times (you) were a bad tourist?
>>
Personally, pretty usual stuff:

I take things from hotels (that most people do), like towels and shit. If it's in the room or the hallway and there's no one, then i assume it's complementary.
I also took like posters and other shit from places, as souvenirs.

Also, i don't skip lines, except when i have a connexion flight, in which case i freak out and push people out my way.
I'm not spending for another hotel night because i missed a flight. So, in those cases i'm a huge dick and get into fights.

Also, if i wait more than 2 hours in an airport, i take off my shoes.
Once, a group of Koreans complained that i had smelly feet because of it.
To be fair they were probably right, because i was awake for probably more than 24 hours with no showers at that point.

Traveling India and Nepal I threw rubbish out the bus window just like everyone else. One time I shat diarrhea on the roadside next to my luggage after getting off a sleeper bus, thankfully nobody passed by and snapped a picture. I also made two girls very unhappy by refusing their bold advances.

That's considered being a model citizen in India.
>>
I had an autistic twitch and had to touch a tiny dog fresco in Pompeii, some worker just told me to not touch it, could have been worse, idk why I got that urge never happened before or since then

my fuckups are pretty inconsequential. When I first arrived in Japan I ate at the restaurant, the bill was 498 yen so I put up a 500 yen note and 3 one cent coins to get back 5 yen in change, but the cashier looked at the coins like they were a bomb and she didn't want to handle them. A minute later after I left I realized they were the Taiwanese 1 cent coins

Then a couple days later I went to a different restaurant to have the lunch special. When they rang me up I bitched that the price wasnt the same as the special but later I learned that in Japan the tax is usually added after and that's normal

Then I snaked a guy when I went to view a sharehouse in the suburbs of Fukuoka. I was acting interested in it and the guy spent like 40 minutes interviewing me and reviewing the rules, and I agreed to meet him on Monday and sign, but the moment the meeting ended I left to the bus terminal to take the overnight bus to Tokyo. On Sunday I told him the price he was asking was ridiculous and I can live in Harajuku (richest neighborhood) for that price, so I'm in Tokyo now. Did him like the Onitsuka Tigers did Phil Knight

I touch thinks to, it's to prove that i'm finally here.
And i take pics of me touching a temple wall or a castle or a mountain with my hand on a rock. Then i look at the photo, i look at my hand, "i was there".

It was pouring rain really hard when I was in Taipei, so I ran into a store for shelter. As luck would have it, they sell umbrellas. I can't read any Chinese whatsoever, so the only thing I can read on the sign is "100."

So I ask the guy there, in English, if the umbrella costs $100 TWD. He said "yes," so I handed him a $100 coin, grabbed an umbrella, and ran back out.

Here's what I did wrong:
1) I never actually confirmed if that man was the shop owner or an employee. He could've been another customer for all I know.
2) I forgot to factor in GST/VAT/whatever the Taiwanese equivalent is.
3) I wasn't in a hurry, why the fuck did I run out?
4) I just googled what Taiwanese currency looks like to refresh my memory, there is no such thing as a $100 coin. I'm either remembering something wrong, or I didn't pay enough. Maybe I gave him a $100 note, maybe I gave him two $50 coins. I don't remember, and I kinda feel like shit because it's equally possible that I gave him one $50 coin.

>I wasted 40+ minutes of my own time to own someone
Very petty and malicious. A swift death would serve you well.

>the tax is usually added after and that's normal
I live in a country that also does this, and it still throws me for a loop.

My thought process is basically
>This is a different country, there's no way they would be as ass-backwards as mine
Then I'm surprised when it is as ass-backwards as mine.

I twice squandered opportunities to potentially get laid in Central Asia back in April
>in Osh
>wandering around
>feel like a beer at 2pm
>there’s a large bar/nightclub open now
>completely deserted
>early 20s employee discovers me sulking
>turns out she speaks really good English
>dazzled about the fact I’m American
>I feel like a beer but I get self conscious and think water is less strange at this hour
>we go to the bar counter and start talking
>spill spaghetti and switch between requesting a beer and some water like six times
>she gets weirded out and completely loses interest
A week later
>get in shared taxi between Panjakent border post and Samarkand
>in front because tall
>three back seats are occupied by an old couple and a lady traveling by herself
>like every shared taxi before, I’m the main topic of conversation
>driver and lady in back speak some English
>”wow what are you doing in Uzbekistan“ “what do you think about Trump” “why did he attack Iran”
>drop the old couple off at the bus station in Samarkand
>between bus station the lady gives me and the driver her Telegram details
>she’s a female bodybuilder visiting home from Turkey
>I get dropped off in the center and walk off
>she calls me back to the taxi and gives me her WhatsApp
>”we can meet since you don’t know anybody in town :)”
>never contact her

it wasn't a squander, you are coping. if you actually had a chance she would have stayed through the fumble
>>she calls me back to the taxi and gives me her WhatsApp
>>”we can meet since you don’t know anybody in town :)”
>>never contact her
you probably didnt contact her because you're not into buff women. cant really blame yourself for that
>>
>>2914402
Funny, but couldn’t you wander into a Japanese language school and shit up and tie up their resources to make the poos suffer?
>>
>>2914406
>never contact her
So you were agonizing for days/an afternoon whether you should say “hi” but your penis inverted or something?

You, sir, are gay.

Hes the white incel of pol. Many of his "stories" are him acting like a worm to normalize being a total loser. Hes trying to breed more white incels. Demonic behavior

I got a taxi from the Bali airport at like 11:30pm. Me and the driver start chatting and he offers me a cigarette, I say thanks and start smoking. He and I are chatting away and I start to notice that my ash is about to fall, but since the driver smokes he must have an ashtray or something in the car. I look around and see this little brass dish sitting on top of the dashboard. Sweet, found the ashtray. I put the cig over it and knock the ash off and immediately the taxi driver goes silent and I see every muscle in his body clench up. I lean a little forwards to look into the ashtray and see that it isn't an ashtray and I had just ashed a cigarette into his hindu offering bowl. The night degraded from there.

>2) I forgot to factor in GST/VAT/whatever the Taiwanese equivalent is.
In Taiwan that's always included in the price. You never see what the tax is as a separate item. Standard VAT there is 5%, and oddly enough if you go shopping for computer parts there you'll find that the posted prices on brand-name components are always about 5% more than you can buy them for in the U.S.
