I am once again planning another trip to the Philippines for when El Niño passes.I have a problem. I need some detailed info on a variety of things long term visitors may need, and surely do come with time spent and acquisition of friends. But I am a bit lazy and want shortcuts. I’ve checked out the expat groups on normiebook and I absolutely cannot stomach the thought going to some deranged boomer expat meetup. I consider myself a normie outsider as it is, but how are these people so fucked up? Anyways wat do and discuss your next trip if you have one planned.
Bicol has Mayon Volcano the world's most perfectly cone shaped volcano. And the Cagasawa ruins is unique in Asia for the Franciscans incorporating Mexican Baroque art in it when Mexicans landed in the Philippines, in which their first landing site is the Bicol Peninsula, before they proceed to Manila or Cebu.
>>2916477You dont need to bring anything to a place where other human beings live comfortably.Anything you need you can get there. The only exception would be your luxury electronics, which have a very hefty import tax so they wind up costing 1/3rd more than anywhere else, so consider buying a new phone or laptop before you go to Philippines.I recommend traveling as light as possible because you will likely try out several different places and want to move before you find somewhere quiet and good. Acceptable housing is always the biggest issue for me.
Dont bother with retired boomers. They are rotted and retarded. Let them waste away, they will only try to infect you with their regrets and disillusionment. Dont bother with weird ethnic expats either. They are always doing some stupid scamming shit or involved with criminal activity. Every time. Every time. (Every single time). The younger white crowd is only really present in Manila and Cebu. They arent wonderful people either but they come in a better variety than brown/yellow criminals and decaying boomers. Shitlib or chud, you can find both types. If you want normie faggots on vacation you can go to Palawan boracay or siargao. The later is the prime 20s crowd beach party spot, where you can enjoy getting mogged by 200cm tall Australian surfer chad millionaire trust fund kids and watching them run through all the tubby white backpacker girls and locals.
Fucked up the collage. Never mind, better that no one reads it.
>>2916501If you want to hike in proper shoes and socks instead of barefoot in flip-flops, then yes you should bring good shoes and proper Western socks. Socks in Asia are utter garbage quality, and they smell horrible after a little sweating.
>>2916544That reminds me. I went canyoneering and the shoes they lend you are pretty terrible. Walking for 3+ hours over 2 inch pebbles can get pretty painful towards the end and uncomfortable having tiny pebbles and sand get stuck every time you wade through water. I also almost lost 2 toenails from being compressed in the toe box.I’ll go again but this time I’ll be taking my own shoes and a waterproof satchel for my phone. Our guide was awesome and through a lot of the trek held it above water as we went through but I’d save them the hassle and the freedom to take my own shots at will. They give you water and a snack but I’d be bringing another bottle of water and some jerky or chocolate bar.
